One of the better defenses against the grab and stab that I've seen. Thanks for all you do.

Unarmed defense against knife is always a last resort low percentage of success situation. That being said, it can and does happen. Your check-and-control tactic is the most realistic and viable method I have ever seen. In fact, it is remarkably similar to what friends of mine who work as prison guards in the Philippine Bureau of Corrections use, since shanking attacks with homemade knives and stilettos are a common occurrence. The difference is they prefer to use the X-block move first as a strike: both ulna bones strike the radial bone of the knife arm, the pain causing the assailant to let go the weapon or at least weaken the grip. After that they go for a disarm/restraint maneuver. I suppose this is a function of their jobs as correction officers. Your method is more suited to us non-LEO folks whose only concetn is not getting stabbed and killed. Terrific instruction, as always. Thank you! 🥋💪

I've tried a few MA classes over the years and had to stop after a short while because I found the teachers were either too vain, too macho, or obsessed with how superior their particular form of MA was. You however, Mr Moore, explain things repeatedly and clearly, and come across as decent bloke and teacher.
