I own an 8 place setting of blue willow that I have had for many years, which I absolutely love. Also, my husband and I have been married 58 years. We spent our honeymoon in Maggie Valley. We have been to Maggie Valley many, many times over the years. Love, love Maggie Valley so-ooo much! Great story!!!!!!
What a wonderful moral to the story, and it surely is a true one. We have all been in a position similar to this one, thinking a thing is stolen, only for it to turn up somehow or the other, Then all the bad feelings stirred up, the emotional cost was higher ,than any item one could have. So lets not do that!
Thank you, JD, for sharing another great story. This story is a great reminder of how people let petty little things come between them. Many thanks. God bless.
I somehow missed this story last week. When I listened to today’s story, (9-8-24) I enjoyed it so much that I had to get caught up with this story. As always, I wasn’t disappointed. I don’t always leave a comment, but you can bet your bottom dollar I’m listening to every tale. An excellent lesson or two can be gleaned from this one. Very well done my friend. 🙏 🙂
OMG..it never crossed my mind the ole man had it 😆.. I was thinking the lady had accidentally broke it and was afraid to tell her friend.. this was great.. beautiful ending.. thanks for sharing 😊
Oh my stars! What a nerve-wrecking story!! Phew! I had a feeling this story was gonna break up two families of old friends would turn into separate families and no wedding ever !! JD, Everytime I think you have had the best mysterious story ever ! …….. then you come up with another great one !!! You are amazing and a genius! Thank you for sharing!! Blessing always! ❤️😊🙏
Great story. I just knew that was what happened to the platter. I love the beautiful Blue Willow design and the story that goes with it. My Granny had Blue Willow dishes and I have collected any I could get ahold of.
My father had a complete service for 10 of Blue Willow but my step-mother said it was hers when he died although he started collecting it when I was a kid
My grand mother from mother's side had that for 12 and I have no idea where they are now. I am not so much after material things though, wish whoever has them, enjoy them ❤
I never clicked on a video so quickly. I went to Western Carolina University that's near Maggie valley. When I graduated my family stayed in Maggie valley at a hotel it's so beautiful there. Have you ever been to the mountain heritage festival that Western Carolina puts on every year?
I’ve driven by that college several times when I lived in South Carolina. I often thought it would have been a blessing to have gone there and lived in the area. Nice campus!
Oh that was a good story! Just goes to show damage that can come from misunderstandings. Not quite the ending I was expecting. So enjoyed your storytelling. You now have a new subscriber. 😊
J.D what a wonderful story with a twist I should have seen coming !! Simpler times when keep sakes actually couldn’t be replaced . And when offered as a token of expectance and love ,nothing in the world could measure up ! No wonder her husband never asked about it missing from the Cub bard ! Such a great story ,you are amazing ! Thanks
@@theappalachiachannel Thank you You are such a gifted storyteller, Some people god just gifted them with talents to be shared . Such names as Paul Harvey come to mind that can be heard long after the presentation! Your voice fits In this category God Bless Much appreciated 👏👏👏👏👏
And enough platters for all the ladies! I was certain that the platter Lucy had bought at the antique shop would turn out to be the original that someone (not Serena) had stolen from the fair and sold, and that she had bought back her own platter. But your ending was so much better! Great story JD. As usual!

Another great story, JD. I hit that "like" button before a single word is ever spoken because I KNOW, beyond a shadow of a doubt, it's going to be a great one!
Well I never expected this ending 🤣 Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive! Usually it doesn't work out this well...lol I was afraid I wouldn't find out what happened to the platter... you got me! Great story 🤗👍👍
