It is possible to place an actual shower room inside of the holding cell and have it count as completed. It's a little tricky sometimes, but it can be done.
In the Beta (v2preview) visitor booths were missing from the game which broke it for me. I prefer booths for visitation, tables for parole. If you're gonna have a reception, I don't mean to sound like a know-it-all, but a jail door is needed. If your prisoners are left alone in the reception and a workmen comes by, bam, gone are your prisoners. Jail door cannot be opened by workmen. Easiest way to escape is to put final doors as staff doors.

Despite their setbacks in the past the devs have been very busy improving the game over last years and I think they would deserve a bit more attention for being, in my opinion, the best and most authentic zombie survival game at the moment (and another actually good example of early access).
eh, "authentic" would mean you hide in your basement with 2 months worth of ramen noodles, water, and a good generator or two. Then you come out and all the zombie corpses are rotted and harmless.
+Tiberius Wolf That's the thing, a zombie apocalypse would only last a few months to a year depending on how the governments handle it. Zombies are just walking corpses so they would just rot to the point of uselessness. Just get a few months worth of fuel, ramen/assorted canned food, and bottled water and your good. He'll get more fuel, and some extra batteries, and get a laptop with some games downloaded on it to pass the time. (I definitely don't have 2k+ hours of time on assorted steam games.) Hell ducking torrent some, anti-piracy laws mean nothing in the end of days.
I liked the very first preview version many years ago. The game in its current state now is.. lacking, in comparison, ontop of being mechanically strange and having no real tutorial.
I always over fill my prisons by mistake and crowd them into the holding cell until late game when I can build actual cells but back to the story I did the holding cell cramming stat and I placed a vending machine in it and left for 5 minutes to take a shiet so I come back and it's on full speed and it's just a massive swarm on the vending machine and I have only 5 FPS because of it :P
To begin with, while just planning, you shouldn't pause, but close intake, then speed up the game... coz you're making money while not doing anything, and having 0 intake, even with employees (800ish) This doesnt matter if you're gonna start building pretty fast, but if youre slow and planning many details it might be a decent amount of money in the end
Please turn weather and temperature on. It feels kinda unrealistic with it off. The basic idea is just add some radiators to keep everything room temperature. You can also get snow and rain, which looks cool.

Seems we're not gonna get DLC for PC at this point :/, which is a shame because the Base PC game is good, but the PS4 and Xbox DLC's make their respective games better.

Please turn on Temperature, it's such an essential part of the game now and requires you to manage one more aspect.
Temperature is super fun during riots and winter :-D Turn off the heat and let them go sleep :-D
they should add air conditioning to the game and vents that go through walls like water pipes, though prisoners can use them for escape.
Hot water also makes showers and sinks work faster and keeps the moods of prisoners up.
temperature isnt an essential part of the game if its off

Build your prison as safe as you can, and then escape from it to show yourself that this was pretty easy

If the off center sprites for metal detectors bug you, there is a mod on the workshop that fixes it. Also fixes tables, cookers, fridges, ect.

You should have put a staff door. It adds security for your civilian cooks.

Staff doors are unlocked w/ staff keys, which the cooks have.
Yes cooks have keys but it pulls them away from the job that they're doing.

The Main Menu has been there for quite some time, however the "character generation" is new to me too :-)

You still start in a new prison. But (on a mac) you an press escape and get to the main menu and create a new prison with your preferred warden.

Technically but you're splitting pennies. You might go for the less drains anyways to cut down on spaces they can hide contraband in though.

Hey Quill, just a heads up. Notice the quick build tile in your toolbar. You could have easily built the offices with this. It saves a lot of time
The quick build has some weird layouts. I don't use them.

I like to have armed guards patrol the cell blocks, then if someone is naughty they can "remove" them so no riots start.
