I'm going on my very first cruise in this December (2023). I was told about 'dress up night' and had no idea what formal dining was like. Thank you for this video!!!! I like how you shared actual footage of a cruise, showing what people were wearing :) You have brought me peace! God bless you both :)
Thank you, I’m going on my first cruise and was kinda worried because I’m getting different ideas of what to wear from the internet but this definitely clarified it
When we cruised 25 years ago I brought a garment bag with a suit and all the dress stuff. Now I avoid the dress up as much as possible. I tend to wear a collared shirt and dress pants.🐸
@@JNTravels If it comes available, book Nov 6th on Mardi Gras! Would love to cruise with you all!😁 But actually I cant remember if it's eastern or western caribbean...we have rebooked so many times! Lol
@@TheTravelScouts Out of curiosity I just checked it out. It isn't listed so I assume they are at capacity right now? I will keep checking in case they increase the amount of passengers that they allow. You had 2 or 3 inaugural Mardi Gras cruises if I remember correctly? This one should happen!!!😀
We love formal night, too. We have see ladies in sequins and diamonds and men in tuxedos, but we’ve also seen ladies in slacks and nice tops accompanied by men in dress shirts.
Thanks for this. Going on a short, 4 day, cruise on Carnival Splendor in Nov 2023, and the last thing I wanted to do is to spend money on a suit or tux I'd only wear once. Sounds like a nice pair of chinos, a decent polo and jacket will suit, save the jeans for other nights :)
Monte, DON'T do the buffet for dinner! Just DON'T! It's worth dressing up a little for the dining room. Just a polo shirt & khaki pants, a sundress for the wife!
I got a long purple dress from SHEIN now that I’m looking at everyone else’s dresses I think I’m gonna be coming really overdressed I’m 15 so now I’m worried i I already packed it and it’s good to go and times almost up so now I can’t even get a new dress 😕 let me know if a long purple dress would be perfect or not?
Why the forced elegant dining in the first place? I'm travelling for a month before my cruise, with just one carry-on. There is not a snowball's chance in hell I'm bringing formal wear.
This was taken from Carnival website "Gentlemen: dress pants, jeans, elegant shorts, polo shirts Ladies: casual dresses, skirts or trousers and blouses, summer dresses, capris, elegant shorts, jeans Please no tracksuit trowsers, basketball shorts, flip-flops, bathing clothes or cut-off jeans."

Glad it was helpful!

Carnival Sunrise, here we come!!!

Yes, we live to travel light. When is your next scheduled cruise by the way? :D
@@TheTravelScouts We only have one booked on the Horizon in Oct 2022 but I am searching several times a week for a 2021 East Coast Oct/Nov cruise.🐸

@@JNTravels Yes. I am guessing it's full but you never know who will cancel

Yes. You really do see all kinds of attire! I always say, wear what makes you feel beautiful :) Thanks for watching and commenting friend!

Thanks for the video. You guys look great.
Thank you!
I love dressing up for elegant nights, I might wear sundress on 1st and last night but all other nights dressy its all part of the cruise adventure
Yes! It's fun to get all dressed up! :D My biggest trouble is the shoes! LOL I try to stay minimal but it's hard with different dressy outfits!
You seem like nice people. Thanks for the tips.
For the men, can you wear jeans a dress shirt and dress shoes? Basically can men wear jeans for elegant night?
Can men wear short sleeve button down shirts?
@@Moyegirl my husband did. He wore a button down short sleeve and a pair of slacks. :)
Ive wore nice shorts n polo or short sleeve button up n never an issue
This video was great it answered my questions about the dress code! I love your food reviews! Are you guys travel advisors?
If you don't want to do elegant night, are there other options to eat where you don't have to dress up, or do you have to dress up to eat?
Yes. You can always go to the main buffet or another specialty dining option :)

@@lindamowry5855 We didn't. We dressed up super dressy one of the elegant nights and semi dressy the other one. So much fun!! Thank you!!
Can you tell me when is elegant night on the Carnival Celebration (7) day cruise…

You rock your purple dress! I love Shein and you wear whatever you feel confident and comfortable in💃
Emily dress in a way you feel special. You are special so show it.
Those rule are for the MDR, correct? If your just going to the buffet or your walking around the ship later you can wear what you normally would?

I’m going on a 10 day cruise, they have an elegant night and a formal wear. I have no idea
Was that Elitch Gardens in the background?
think Mardi Gras will sail soon????
Ugh! It's so hard to predict with things changing so quickly. My guess will be mid-late August. (But that's just my guess) lol
Is there a schedule of when the elegant night will be ok door to the cruise ? Also for the rest or the night themes like 80s night ?
What is appropriate for every night dining? Are the cut of jeans still a no no?

Great video! ❤️
Thanks friends! :)💕
The men can wear a polo shirt and khakis
What about heels? Are they allowed. Someone told me they weren't allowed. Please let me know.
Yes heels are absolutely allowed :)
do you dress up everyyday for the main dining room?
No. Most days you can wear casual clothing. This was just for the formal night
@@TheTravelScouts okay thank you!
The lady at 2:06 ..My God she is beautiful
IMO Carnival is too casual. Elegant Dining is just that ELEGANT. Formal wear should be worn.
