I also love that Mercedes, Forrest Haggerty! A beat up old junker is what expect in the launder mat and liquor store parking lot. The Mercedes becomes the story in this composition. I think you're right-on-the-money, Forrest. All those poor locals bought that Mercedes, quarter-at-a-time! I hope Nick sees the same as we do and shares the same love of the real story here. Glenn

Ohhhh I felt the frustration waiting for the cars to align. Also, it's amazing how often you'll be set up for a shot then someone will wonder into the frame, stop, and start looking at their phone. Sometimes they look up, see you waiting behind your tripod, then go back to looking at their phone. I'm with you about cars too. The newer the car, the more it ruins a shot. ('New' starts at around 1990 for photo purposes.)

Once in a while some artists come-up with a fascinating and an immersive way of delivering their passion to the public.
I have to confess that I quickly get sick of the reviewers and all the youtubers flashy patina they give to new products and trends coming out, 99% of big names out there... Give-or-take.
From the camera positioning, the way you talk, how you pass the details that compose your rationale to the very honest transparent commenting... I don't know if you make it on purpose or just because it happens to be... but to me it has been a while since I've seen something like this on any channel.
It happens sometimes to find content just like this, from the audiophile to the remote Japanese shoemaker, exquisit fine woodworker or the passionate blacksmith, but this time... Its an analog photographer.
You don't only make photos, you give them a story, a meaning a soul...and finally pass that to this side... to us, The Viewers.
    One Big thank you
    Wish you all the best

Nick, I cannot even tell you how much time I've spent in that HR Mart (back when it used to be a Circle K). I lived right around the corner and would take almost daily trips to grab a bag of hot cheetos or play Street Fighter 2 with the other kids from the neighborhood. That was my hangout spot (and we'd skate in that parking lot right where you had your car parked). The sav-mor thrift shop used to be a Thrifty's so after we'd get our grocery shopping done in that center, we'd head over to get a couple of scoops from the ice cream counter. Thanks for taking me down memory lane, and as always, great work!

"Discussing" a picture is nice. But when the photographer says what he doesn't like and does it better and the result and the better image effect can be seen, it is even more exciting and instructive! Sharpen the eye. Especially when you put so much time into exactly the picture, then everything has to fit! Thank you!

I'm a huge fan of the Bauhaus inspire mid-century modern stuff with all the harsh 90º angles myself. I totally get the draw to certain building styles, but I think its funny that you're so inspired by something I see as 10/10 boring.
