Just go here: www.roguetoad.com/Downloads/ViewDownload.aspx?did=7b4a01c9-3f96-401a-833f-a2320f6d22f0&pageid=3&mid=57 Download this, open it, find a picture for the mod of your choice (it can be in-game shot or real life shot), and make sure it's a JPEG. Open the picture in the program, and you can add the five default logos (Cup, Nationwide, Trucks, IROC and NASCAR) found in the program. You can also use your own, but it has to be in PNG extension. Once you've got it to your liking, click "Save", and name it. Then it'll create your background, and then you'd go to the "My Mainbacks" folder in the same spot as your mainback creator. Copy the ".STP" file (I find it by finding the file type that looks like "Stop") and place it in the desired mod's folder. You do not need to put it in cars or anything. Simply place it just inside the mod folder. Hope this helps!
It seems that sometimes you may need to save it as a 24 bit bitmap. When you are saving as, click the advanced options in the little window.
In the side window if gimp, you'll see a list of layers and there is an option to lower or raise layers.
I think what you should look for is sound packs. You can install them into the game somehow and they have better quality.
Now I'm forever looking at Newman's 2003 500 flip.
Its the little plus in the save as box.
