Super signal Dapol have done a good job on them. Those detectors look good as well.Great explanation of what you have done.

Very interesting video and great details well explained. I do enjoy the content you post. As a returner to the hobby after very many years the information is gratefully received.

Very interesting - I agree that the ratio signal kits are very fiddley. Those Dapol signals are really excellent. Before I bought a couple of them I didn't realise that they are lit as well as motorised!

Great Vid! This worked really well Jennifer, adds to the realism and just shows how versatile the lmid’s are.🙏

I was thinking about getting just one of these to add to my modern era layout, because I want to add something interesting. I wasn’t sure how difficult it was to wire it up for manual operation since I only have a small loop. This has really helped me make that decision so thank you so much, and that decision is yes 😁

Fascinating but I didn’t understand the wiring. Would a diagram somewhere be helpful?

      Yes a good idea Richard.
I have working Dapol signals on my layout operated by Train Tech units and track sensors. On my layout The Dapol signals are powered by my DCC AC track voltage.
I have 2 questions, Is your Dapol signal powered by your track voltage or a separate power supply, and did you cut one gap or two gaps in one rail to send a signal to the Legacy LM -ID detector.

I would recommend the Train Tech DCC SC range of Dapol Signal Controllers (and the output on them is 9V too).

Would a couple of reed switches and a magnet on a wagon have done the same job as the induction coil things?

    What a fascinating video Jenny.
Dapol really make good products that look amazing.
Do you need a separate power supply for the signals?

I approve of working signals - and going off piste.
