Эта последняя его песня, написанная незадолго перед смертью. Он как будто предчувствовал свой ранний уход. И в своей песни он спрашивает у кукушки:" Сколько ещё песен у меня не написанных , и буду ли я лежать после смерти камнем или гореть звездой..будут ли помнить об мне, и кто за мной пойдет..Примерно так. У Цоя все песни с глубоким смыслом, нужен только хороший перевод. Полина спела эту песню к фильму "Битва за Севастополь" Этот фильм посвящен женщине-снайперу Людмилы Павличенко, который во время обороны Севастополя 1942года убила больше 300 фашистов.
Think i actually know that story about the female sniper. Trying to remember all the amazing composers that come from your country as-well. Love how they seem to be working all over the place with so many talents. Not really being able to 100% comprehend the words on these songs is the worst though. You can feel and see the passion, but sometimes my imagination is not enough to understand how things are actually intended. Guess i can still enjoy it though haha

What a great performance by Polina! She has quite a strong voice and good stage presence. This beautiful song is written and performed in Russian, and Polina is a Russian singer. Amazingly, you caught the words "vot tak", which means "this way". I can also recommend watching the performance of this song by another Russian singer Alisa Supronova. Actually the cuckoo song in Russian folk belief is a kind of known as a predictor - you can ask a question and count the bird's sounds as an answer. So what is asked in the beginning of the song is "how much songs are left for me?" meaning "how long will I live?" and then hero going for some battle/commit for some duty and ask other natural powers (like sun) for some other signs or help/support.

Из за того, что пение кукушки это просто монотонное многочисленное продолжительное кукование "ку-ку-ку-ку-ку-ку..." в народе, когда слышат кукушку, в шутку спрашивают: "сколько мне жить осталось, скажи кукушка?" и считают сколько раз она споёт. Здесь кукушка является образом , знающим скрытые тайны о человеке. Песня о человеке идущем на войну и размышляющему , вопрошающему о своей судьбе у кукушки.

I will try to reveal for you a few points that I find interesting in this song.
The cuckoo is not just a songbird. Since ancient times, it has been a tradition in Rus' to ask the cuckoo how long you have left to live. How many times the cuckoo will make its sound "cuckoo" - so many years you will live.

Well, Ukraine has it's own nice performers but it has nothing to do with Polina. Polina is a Russian singer, a long time superstar in our country. And here she performs at a Chinese show, with Chinese orchestra, and sings her version of a very old song of a Soviet rock-band "KINO" (which means "Cinema") from Leningrad city (that was the name of Saint-Petersburg at that time). She's very talented and popular, and she also is a patriotic person. Also that's rather funny how nowadays lots of western people start to relate well known Russian hallmarks (like ballet, etc.) to Ukraine all of sudden.
Well, wasn’t relating sn aweful lot haha. The lyric translations i looked up with “polina… - cuckoo” talked about that orchestra. 😅 won’t make assumptions on that myself. So turns out not only the translations are doubtful 😅

Мне кажется, мелодия и ритм этой песни "Кукушка" соответствуют корейской этнической музыке, т.к. ее автор Виктор Цой был советским корейцем.
Что было главным для меня в оригинальной версии Виктора Цоя? В первую очередь, интонация. Меланхоличная, задумчивая, печальная, с оттенком горечи и разочарования. Если хотите - позиция философа, мудреца. Никаких эмоций, никаких страстей, никакого вызова, никакой ярости. Мудрец просто не может говорить с вами на языке страстей. Цой не играл тембрами и интонациями - у него был один тембр, зато какой: всегда тёмный, всегда сумрачный, всегда сдержанный; одна интонация - потому что он не занимался вокальным искусством - он передавал нам определённый смысл и определённое настроение. Он что-то знал о нашем драматичном и противоречивом будущем, он как будто что-то знал и о своей трагичной судьбе. Как не истолковывай эти стихи - в них для меня всё равно остаётся нечто непрояснённое, открытый финал. "Женская" версия, основанная, судя по всему, на аранжировке Ольги Кормухиной, намного более сложна и в музыкальном, и в собственно вокальном смысле. Не скрою, меня эта версия Полины Гагариной тоже впечатлила; но всё-таки, я безусловно предпочитаю версию Цоя - без артистизма, без сложной вокальной работы, без страстей на грани нервного срыва. Скажу лишь, что любые версии имеют право на существование, если они сделаны талантливо - как и в данном случае.
И в заключение добавлю вот что: в России есть один артист, который смог бы соединить воедино меланхолию, горечь, сдержанную тёмную окраску первоначальной версии этой песни - с настоящим вокальным искусством и артистизмом - но без избыточных "женских" страстей - это Диана Анкудинова...

It’s fine either way. I kind off touched the subject in my reaction as-well. I am viewing her in a neutral sense anyway. People are born in different places, being formed by the people around them and the news they are fed. That’s not different to the stuff that i am getting, To me this channel is also about finding commonalities between cultures. Especially between conflicted area’s, love seeing people being so proud on their artists. Recognizing talent and beauty, avoiding judgement on things like politics. Feel like political opinions in entertainment are mostly based on pleasing the masses or people in power anyway. It’s the safe thing to do. Didn’t read anything different behind these comments. 😊

It effects musicians and where they can perform. Another singer that I follow had to cancel his performances in Russia this spring because he is American and the possibility of being "detained" is always high when there is a dispute between nations.
