This is pretty sweet! You can see Gnomon is definitely a very efficient school where they know what they are teaching. It is a pity it costs trillion dollars.

Kinda pisses me off when I watch Gnomon reels, reminds me how I can't go there and how I have to work 10x harder just to keep up. .. People who go there have to fucking realize how lucky they are and use every single bloody opportunity to learn while they are studying there. I'm not hating on it, I love it in fact, Gnomon I mean. I'm just sad that I can't study there.

People who go there aren't that lucky. Only thing your really paying for is connections and critiques, not worth 60k if you can get critiques from forums etc. Anyone can manage with the RIGHT tutorials or online schools (like CG Spectrum), in fact I think CG Spectrum is a way better alternative since you get a personal mentor for a very cheap price and you work at a faster pace. also the job placement rate is 95%

Sir Ninja Raiden Well I live on the other side of the world, so it's not just expensive, but incredibly expensive.. However, I'm doing college and taking up animation/vfx courses. If I am able to afford it in the future sometime, I won't miss the chance.
Well you can always have the will to make your dream come to reality. I took many years to do a short film that i always wanted. Countless rejections that made me want to give up. Kept on changing my script so many times so many versions and i have decided to keep it and pursue forward. Just don't give up and don't be defeated cheers mate keep on pushing.

Why are all the comments like "Oh i wish i could go here"? Practice practice practice. You get in what you dish out. Yeah it's expensive ( I think $100k for a bachelor's), and you need a portfolio, but it's NOT impossible. I don't get you ppl i thought I'd see some enthusiasm. Well IM GOING. I don't care what it takes, I WILL ATTEND THIS COLLEGE.
You can do it! I'm 33 yrs old and Im only been in Gnomon for about 8 months now. This school is no joke. We have many students who graduated from other art colleges that end up here. Some just take individual courses. You are required to spend 60-70 hrs a week here.. that's the only way you learn so quickly.

+Alex I believe you should do it. I suggest doing the 2 year program and get it over with quick. Brush up on a lot of 3D fundamentals before coming. Do some research or ask a lot of questions about Gnomon online or over the phone before coming so you'll be prepared and know what to expect.
I'd suggest Gnomon workshop.
Only privileged people can say "you can do it" to 100k. xD Gnonom is fantastic, maybe the best, but only for the very few.

Here in Brazil there is Axis-Gnomon, the partnership between Saga (an VFX school here in Brazil) and Gnomon but it is very expensive for most Brazilians only the rich can study there. I'm going to have to satisfy myself with the game designer course I'm doing here in my city, it's better than nothing.

The guys studying here must have some great prior knowledge of 3D cause I've never seen reels this good at any 3D school unless someone has 3-5 years experience. You don't walk in knowing nothing and walk out producing this quality!...do you? Amazing and stunning work!
I walked in knowing nothing but traditional art... it was fucking hell. But, you have amazing classmates and teachers who will help you understand the technicality of it. I just started on my 4th term from the 2 yr program and let me tell you, you will be AMAZED at what kind of shit you produce in less than a year from knowing nothing.

student loans and grants... mostly everyone is doing that. Just work hard and listen to your instructors and you'll get hired fast.

I go to Full Sail and a lot of the people that graduate from the 2 and a half year accelerated course don’t have much to show for it. There’s a TV in the back of one of the buildings that shows the demo reels of the people from the graduation class that particular month and most of them are kind of bad. I think it’s because a lot of people go into art school (and school in general) thinking that it’s the schools job to give you all of the knowledge you need to make great things like what’s on this video but in reality, a lot of what college is, is just teaching you to teach yourself. To get you passionate about your craft and to troubleshoot when things go wrong. I’m a modeling and look development guy and after only a year and a half at full sail, my projects already look better than some of the people who’ve just graduated because I love working on my person projects and making cool ass art but a lot of people that go to my school just want a job.

I lie to myself. Every morning when I wake up, I say,..."Everything's gonna be OK. I am gonna be just as good as the guys at Gnomon one day." But I am lying. And I don't know how much longer I can do it.
