@@b34k97 it is. I only used the 50 1.8 in the movement first two test. I like to use the 24-70 2.8 S lens when doing test like that because it gives it the best chance in these test
Appreciate the test bro. This is exactly what I wanted to see. I know my Z8 has struggled in these conditions in the past, so glad that Nikon has made some improvements in this department.
Thanks for this video. One particular test I’d like to see when it comes to Auto Eye AF: camera on a tripod or handheld, Full Auto Eye AF, for portraits and headshots in the studio. Currently, I can’t use the Z6II for this work, and I’m tired of moving the damn pinpoint around for every single shot. I’m very curious how will the Z6III behave in this scenario and what is the hit rate(as well as where it focuses: eye lashes vs the eye).
As an ex Nikon shooter and now Sony, I occasionally watch content to see how Nikon AF is coming on. The general jist I get is its good but you need to think about your settings more than you do with Sony. I use a A7R5 and its so easy to use in AF, it feels like a cheat code. Where I was told Nikon led in the DSLR days was auto WB and auto iso. But the A7R5 actually caught up on these features with Nikon in my experience. So we are left with a general colour argument. Well I just don't have a problem with my colour either and remember Im ex Nikon. So there two areas that Nikon need to catch up now for me, first lens selection for instance I use a 20-40 Tamron a lot, its not available for Nikon and secondly ease of use for AF. Hopefully these things will narrow going forward. Sorry I forgot a third 'issue' video redundancy - they really need to figure that one out very quickly as it really will effect choices in the wedding market, which is probably the biggest pro market out there.
many questions one , why iso 1000, you had light from street lights and the light was enough for to shoot bts video. if you connect a trigger to the camera normally ups the exposure hence faster aoutofocus +2 stop expose on the low light photo and sooo noisy we all agree, it can focus in the dark but the image quality is where things get into a mess. nikon z6iii is not a low light camera. sony a7iv and lumix s5iix are kings. but am happy for nikon z6iii, I can enjoy nikon z8 and z9 technology in a body. z6iii plus 180mm-600 lens,, remember that nikon z6iii is suitable for well light environment and it a video camera. not a photo camera.
It looks like autofocus is getting better, but still has a way to go to have the ability to match a speedlight auto focus beam. Oh well, just have to wait another 4 years to see what they come up with 🤷♂️🤷♂️
I really don’t understand this «JP» obsession regarding AF.. you can’t do a proper AF test at night, like this, not knowing if it is the AF or motion.. these tests are pointless.
All Motion Shots were taken on the 50mm 1.8 S lens at 1.8 1/125 1000 ISO
That last test, the viewfinder PIP definitely shows 2.8.... and it kinda looks like a zoom lens.

What flash did you use at the pedestrian crossing?
ah ok I understand better why a lot of photos are blurry! you scared me, I receive mine tomorrow I was afraid of having made the wrong choice
I ain't even gotta watch the video to know it's going to be fire! But I'm going to continue to watch anyway!

Damn that eye autofocus is great!! That’s a good upgrade
you're slowly changing my mind into getting the nikon z6iii thanks for this test! This is how I would use the AF tracking as well.
@@Iamtongue it is a great camera!

Finally got to see a Ryan Troy Vid. Subscribed!!!
👀👀👀👀 Thank you!
suprised you didnt test the iso and bump it up a lot as the camera main thing for photos was the low light.
Thanks for this video.

This is the test I needed to see, thank you.
Your model did well to run across the street and still come out looking sexy 👍🏻
thank you!!
1/125 with that much movement? It will be difficult to distinguish between missed focus and subject movement.
@@waveland right. I honestly didn’t want to deal with HSS with the flash but I should have been at atleast 500th of a second.

Waiting for the pundits who would comment on the Z6iii less superior dynamic range vs Z6/Z6ii topic circulating in YT😂
lol
Good job on the test. I swear the Z6III Eye AF is snappier than the Z8. It’s not supposed to be but sure feels that way.
thank you. how do you feel about the results? I wore this shirt just for you btw 😉 lol j/k

Great Nikon brought their upgraded autofocus to a more affordable product. Shame dynamic range got reduced to the APS-C levels :(
what?
@@pacoperezabella Please Check the Photons to Photos for the dynamic range chart for comparison.
If you manage the DR in your shots, it doesn’t matter. And in this case at ISO1000, the DR is the same as other Nikon bodies.
@@waveland Still, at lower ISO, it's closer to APS-C and downgrade in comparison to the previous model
@@sebastianberes Yes. And I will gladly give up a half-stop of DR (or in many ISOs less than that) for all the rest of the improvements.
