I tried this and got as far as the knitting under loose strands and i was starting from the beginning and couldn't figure out which were the c/o stitches and which were the loose strands. I'm giving up on this pattern and going to try some other ones on this channel b/c i like the way they are presented.

That was my question too. I see your post is over a week old so hopefully you found a solution, so ignore my comment if you have, but if not I thought I'd share what I ended up doing after messy with it bit.
I don't know if this is the proper way to do it, but it worked for me.
Instead of working multiple of 6 +5. To make it one continues pattern I did multiples of 6 (only) (That way I had 3 slip stitches followed by 3 purl stitches or visa versa.)
Because everything is worked on the right side and not turned at the end of ever row I worked my rows as followed.
      For rows 1 and 2: *sl 3 wyif, p3* last 3 sts p3.
      Rows 3-5: knit all
      Row 6: k1, *k1 uls, k5*
      Rows 7 and 8: *p3, sl wyif*
      Rows 9-11: knit all
      Row 12: k2, * k1 uls, k5*
I hope that helpful for your project also.

Glad there is no talking. Sometimes the demonstrator talks and talks and gets off subject and their voice is terrible to hear. There are also many people who come to internet sites that speak no English and can watch without having to try and understand what is being said.
