Both Marnus and Usman are such a treat to watch. Top quality batting, both in form and effectiveness
It seems Sydney test is always rain affected in some way or another. I seem to recall the Ind vs Aus test in 2018-19 was rain affected and became a draw. The 2020-21 test was also rain affected for the first few days, as was the Ashes test last year. The commonality here that all matches became draws where a result would have otherwise been very likely. I know New Year's test is a tradition at SCG but maybe weather indicates it isn't the best time to play there.
There was no problem in hosting tests in Sydney for decades...probably the effect of La Nina effect in Australia...should be fine from next year
And even before the 2018-19 India series, rain played spoil sport in Sydney tests in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, also if the current test is drawn it'll be the sixth draw in past 9 tests at SCG....amost all draws being rain affected

Rabada has lost the pace. Now he is just a gentle medium pacer like hasan ali. Earlier he used to clock 150 but now he is hardly clocking 140 kmph. That's not what you expect from your premier fast bowler.

You can call stumps due to bad light but why you can't play after completing 90 overs when the light is still ok. It's test cricket. Old test cricket didn't have any over limit. But now it's limited. Only 90 overs for a day of test cricket! Whereas one day game consisting 100 overs across 2 innings can be completed in the daytime. Start the day at 9:30 and keep playing until it's dark. Don't give any time limit. Minimum 90 overs should be bowled and bowl extra overs if the light is ok.

I reckon, if we all put our heads together, I'd say we'd be able to come up with a solution to bad light, given this day and age. If only we had a way where we could play cricket at night, and sort of use that solution when it is also a bit darker during the day.
Problem is it's that inbetween light level - too dark to see the ball from natural light but not dark enough for the lights to be effective. In white ball cricket, we see there is a period of time at twilight while the natural light is fading but the lights aren't effective yet. The only difference there is that it's easier to see a white ball than a dark red one at those in-betweeen light levels.

This depends on what the teams agree on before the series begins. Also it's rather pointless because it's a light level that is too dark to play but not dark enough for the floodlights to take effect.
