Congratulations Jason Campos for being this months (and the first) Awesomoto giveaway winner! I cannot thank you and all of my subscribers enough for the continued support. I look forward to giving away more next month!
Kaisar! Hope all is well with you this weekend. Yeah if you don't use the roof rack much, this isnt worth spending the money on. I do however recommend another solution for mounting than the magnetic mount I used if you ever go the light bar route. As you can tell, the mounts didnt do well at highway speeds lol.
Howdy! Great video as always. How tall is your GX with the roof rack? We go places that have a max height of 7 feet so that has been my biggest hesitation on getting a roof rack. Thanks!
Just wondering after 6+ months, if you are happy with the Prinsu Roof Rack? Lots of choices these days, but I'm leaning Prisu. Thanks for all of your GX470 videos ✌️
Thanks Shawn! No I didn't silicone any of the mounting point for the rack, but that's something I've recently seen others do. I'm planning to do that since I use the rack to put kayaks on the roof.
Looks like the light bar sits noticably higher than the racks. If you had to strap something long up there do you think it might put too much strain or weight on the light bar?
Great observation! Yes, it sticks up higher and would take the load of a long board or anything extending over that area. There is a lower mounting point on the bracket that I should move it down to.
Did you put any sealent in the spacers so water doesnt leak from your roof? I see in the PDF in their page they have ome sealent in them, but it doesn't say to put any.
Yes, I added a clear silicone sealant. I didn’t do it at first and then read it months later in their instructions. I didn’t encounter any leaks without it over those few months, but it’s just a good safe measure to do
Great video! Does the front bottom rubber gasket install with the round rubber portion on the underside so the rubber seals between the front plate and the car body?
The stock round rubber portion does not get used here. Since the install, I have added some clear epoxy to seal around the bolts going into the roof as I saw others doing this in the forums.
@@Awesomoto thanks for the reply. I've been looking and have had my eyes set on a 05' with no navigation, that has blown airbags in the back. The price is right, and will even get lower once I explain how much it will cost to replace... But shhhhh! Obviously I'll be putting in coils lol. It's ust kinda hard at the moment, because life happens and I've had to dip into the GX savings quite a bit. So being pretty much back to square one. I'm just hoping to secure one before winter at this point. The sooner the better
I tried to move it to the lower holes, but then the extra height on the brackets hanging above the light bar looked awkward, so I kept it on the upper holes. I should probably try it out again and see if it still looks strange. I agree with your thought though, it should reduce that gap and have less wind noise.
I did not and haven't had any leaking issues, but I may throw some around it the next time I'm up there just for peace of mind. I recommend doing this if you have some silicon sealant.
Not sure what the clearance is to the garage door, but total height of the vehicle with the Prinsu roof rack is 6’7”. Hopefully this measurement is more helpful as garage clearances tend to vary based on home. Thanks for reaching out! 🙏🏻
Wind noise is great compared to the previous setup I had, which was one of those metal baskets attacked to the roof rack. You’re going to see and increase in wind noise in any aftermarket roof rack compared to stock, but it’s not something that bothers me on highways.

Did the roof rack kill the fuel mileage?
Looks sick! Love the 90mph debacle with the light bar story. Battle scars! Cheers
Thanks Lance! Yeah it was quite the scene watching this light bar tumble through traffic lol. Cheers!
Keep up the good work. I really enjoy your content. I also have the same car and roof rack. Looking forward to your future mods.
Hey Ron! Thanks for reaching out, I appreciate the feedback. You are in luck, because there is no shortage of future mods coming to the channel! :)
Thanks! Very helpful!
No problem Tom! Thank you for reaching out and watching!
Awesome content (as usual)! I can’t wait to install mine.
Thanks Jeremy! Let me know if you have questions along the way!
Thanks!
Thank You Blake! You didn't have to do that! I appreciate your support!
I'd like to send you a T-shirt if I can find a way to contact you!
Nice video that looks easy to install!
Not planning on changing my roof rack because I never use it lol! But great clear video as always!

ANOTHER informative video!! Thanks!!
Thanks Scott!

I just went out an measured and the total height of the vehicle is 6' 7" with the roof rack. Hope this helps!

Great question! Yes, I still love my prinsu roof rack and would still recommend to someone looking to buy a roof rack for the GX.
watch out for rust on those bolts. I ordered my rack last year but am just now just installing it. They sell the stainless fasteners now.
I’ll have to go inspect mine to make sure they’re not rusting. Thanks for the heads up!
Really like your videos and clean approach on the mods. Did you need to silicone any of the mounting points for the rack?

Great mods and its so descent… Can you share the link of the store where to buy this set of rack? Thanks Bro.
Sorry for the late reply. I bought this rack from Prinsu.com
@@Awesomoto I can’t access it in my country of origin. I’m from Philippines, how can I get the item, I’m willing to pay. Can you help me?

have you tried moving the light bar to the lower bolt holes? seems that might get rid of that thin gap between the fairing.
I tried to move it to the lower holes, but then the extra height on the brackets hanging above the light bar looked awkward, so I kept it on the upper holes. I should probably try it out again and see if it still looks strange. I agree with your thought though, it should reduce that gap and have less wind noise.

It's that the 42" lasfit that's on the website?
You bet! I did a whole install video that includes links and discount code. Use AWSM10 on Lasfit.com to get 10% off your order!
@@Awesomoto thanks, I've got the prinsu rack as well and wanted to make sure it would fit. I watched the install video 💪
Thanks!
Thanks Max!
