  • The law of God requires that we love our neighbor as ourselves. But who is our neighbor, and how are we to love them? Today, R.C. Sproul continues his exposition of the gospel of Luke by teaching on Jesus’ parable of the good Samaritan.

Powerful sermon. I've been richly blessed.
"God is the Creator of all people but not the Father of all people."
"You are my brother if you have the same Father that I do. If your Father is God and my Father is God, we are brothers."

We cannot understand Grace until we understand the Law
We cannot justify ourselves by living a good life
Our good life is referred to as
    Filthy rags

CHRIST is simply teaching that "faith" ( *love* of GOD) *and* "good works" ( *love* of neighbor) are *inseparably essential* for one to "inherit or have a share" in the grace of eternal life/salvation. That was His answer to the question of the learned man.

    Like the beggar
    At the gate beautiful
    We have our hands extended
It is not silver or gold that we need
WE NEED JESUS CHRIST TO RAISE US UP FROM SIN
    Thank God
In the name of JESUS CHRIST of Nazareth
    We can be made whole

Luke 19/43 For the days will come against you when your enemies will construct a rampart around you, and they will close around you(mass immigration), and hem you in on every side, 44 and they will dash you to the ground, and your children among you, and they will not leave stone on stone among you. The reason for these things is that you do not know the season of your visitation.'
Habakkuk 1/4 The law, in that case, is powerless and justice never proceeds, for the lawless hem in the righteous so that perverted justice proceeds. 5
Paul speaking to sons of Abraham in his day
Acts 13/40 'See to it, therefore, that that spoken by means of the prophets might not come against yourselves:
41 "Look, you despisers, and marvel and perish, for in your days I carry out a work that would certainly not believe if anybody were to declare it to you." ..... Paul places that passage from book of Habakkuk in the future which happens to match up with what Jesus was saying about future mass immigration in Israelite countries
Habakkuk 1/5 Look among the nations and observe and wonder with astonishment, for I will perform a work in your days you would not believe if it were told. 6 For, look now, I raise up the Chaldeans, a bitter and hasty nation, who will March through the breath of the (Israelite) land, to possess places of habitation not theirs (mass immigration)...9 They all come for violence; their forces drive forward like a desert wind and they gather captives like sand. 10 And they scoff at (remnant Israelite) kings, and rulers are a scorn to them; they scoff at every stronghold and they heap up ramps and take captives
Deuteronomy 32/5 They have corrupted themselves, not his children, because of their blemish, A perverse and crooked race. 6 Do you repay Yahweh like this, foolish and unwise people? Is He not your Father Who bought you? Has He not made you and established you? 7 Remember the days of old; consider the years of many generations; ask your Father and He will show you, your elders and they will tell you. 8 When Elyon divided their inheritance to the nations, when He separated the sons of Adam, He set the boundaries of the peoples in keeping with the number of the sons of Elohim.
9 For Yahweh's portion is His people; Jacob is the line of His inheritance
Amos 3/1 Hear this word that Yahweh has spoken against you, sons of Israel, against the whole family I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying, 2
'You only have I known of all the families of the Earth - therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.'

"We are not all brothers, but we are all neighbors." Well said. What I don't understand is that, why only the Sameritians is a neighbor? The other two people were bad, but they are still neighbors, right?

    • @eniafelamo4923

Yes, that's what R.C. said. All men are our neighbors, but not all men are our brothers. Only those who are in Christ and have received the spirit of adoption.

@@eniafelamo4923 yes, RC said that. But when Jesus asked which one of the three is a neighbour, the lawyer said the Samaritans is the neighbour, and Jesus agreed. Shouldn’t Jesus disagree?

@@Allen-L-Canada a neighbor in other words meaning at peace or good to him. The others were enemies of God because of their actions. You can be a neighbor to others, but not everyone will be neighbors to you, or do you good when you have need. Lost people still have the capacity to do good things to one another making them neighbors to us, but not to God because no one is equal to Him, and if they don’t believe in Him they are His enemies.

I think it’s dangerous when theologians make assumptions like that like it’s some kind of excuse he was exposing their selfishness in their hearts that was the point he was exposing the fact they rather hold public opinion in stature and keeping a good image on themselves instead of following the law of God and doing what is right and good
