Thanks for posting Oscar, this is helpful for my learning as well. Not trying to pass into the turn 3 left hander is a good note I'll carry forward. I think I may have been a little too aggressive and 'primed' him for his retaliation against you. I think some light bumping is almost inevitable, as we are not professionals, but I took care not to take him off his line, push him wide, spin him out or otherwise negatively affect his race even if there was contact, and I think I was successful in that. But I need to work on setting up passes better, that's on me. Even if you get bumped, the 'punitive' contact he then gave to you is pretty low, there's no place for that as you said. I started making a lot of mistakes in the second half of the prefinal, I don't think the contact you had on me was bad enough to feel like you need to give the position back, but just shows your character.

Thanks Wes. I agree, I don't think you did anything to him that was over the top crazy, just some bumping which like you said is going to happen. I don't have any concerns racing around you because you don't do anything super crazy or have a temper. You're fast and only getting faster so I'm glad this video helped you. See you at the next race!

3:45 for anyone that wants to see the bs we used to deal with when he raced in lights.

That finals kart looks like it was a hunk of shit. That start was painful to watch!
Great videos mate. Thanks for posting!
Edit: From one racer to another, you don't have to be SO clean that other people walk over you. The minor stuff, its just racing IMO. Slight bumping and bruising is ok in these rental karts.
Edit 2: The last time I went fun karting before Covid hit us, I had a fool turn into me and kept turning into me, almost putting me into the wall. When I confronted him later, he wanted to fight me. Turns out, he didn't like being shown up as he was boasting about being a "Formula Ford driver". LOL.

Loved the change up in the track. Too bad the timing system didn't agree.

Hi, I don’t know if you respond to comments but I was wondering what the difference between junior rok and junior OK is. Thank you and great video!

There’s a little bit of echo in the radio. Is that just me or did you notice that too?

There is a little bit bc of the way I have it wired for the GoPro to pick it up. I don't hear any when I'm driving.

How fast do these karts go?

Upwards of 60, I believe. I haven’t been to the track in a couple years but last time I checked it was 60

They top out around 60mph but probably only get up to around 45-50mph in these races.

about 48 mph at this track if you get a good drive out on to the straightaway, but maybe faster if you pushed it off a cliff.

Speed. Junior ok is used over in european racing and is faster than junior rok which are the american engines. They are both made by the same company one is just used in european racing and the cik fia world championships but the junior rok is mainly used in the United states and other parts of the world that are in europe

Also junior ok can be iame or vortex engines. But vortex makes ok and rok engines same with iame. Iame has the ok engines and the iame x30
