"The enemy is attacking the objective in Lego City! Build the sandbags, dig the trenches, deploy the mines and repel the enemy! With the new sets from Lego City! Each set sold separately."
Crazy to think a lot of these fortifications are barely used because people are more interested in pushing the line and leaving the point they JUST captured wide open.
these fortifications not needed in conquest unless you're defending the objective . it's more for breathru when you need to maintain a position for a while. Then they'll become very usefull
Generally, all the action is happening at a specific objective. Depending on the game mode you play, the frontline could be near your spawn or in the enemies spawn if someone sneaks around. Once an objective is cleared and the spawn point isn't useful to the enemy. If you decide to stick around you could be stick around for a long time with no action, just building fortifications, like this guy. It is decently relaxing to watch though.
It feels like it would have a great impact gameplay wise, but it seems so long and tedious to build for meager points all while your hard work can be destroyed so quickly due to the abundance of explosives. Also, with no team mates around to use them, it feels like fortifications will only help the enemy that captures the deserted point.
My number one complaint with the WW1 era battlefield games. I really don't care about many of the inaccuracies. But every single foot soldier having access to multiple grenades in abundant supply is pretty wacky. I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that a majority of soldiers in WW1 never touched a grenade
Engineer from Company of Heroes POV I don't have much respect for this game because of the downgrade it represented when compared to BF3, BF4 and BF1, but this here was one of the things I loved doing, specially building anti-tank guns, anti-aircraft cannons and machine guns with the Support class, using it to its full potential. And as far as my knowledge is concerned, this is a unique feature from this Battlefield, so there's that.
Keep up the good works man! And if the fortification will make your team tank having difficulties to maneuver, maybe dont built it and just spam AT mine. Also dont forget to close the door 🤣
Feels like it's way too nerfed. Takes a long time to fortify, the fortifications get destroyed with next to zero effort, and it didn't even look like anyone was even using defenses you built (probably because of how easy they get targeted lol).
I think it's partly because of how shitty and wide open most of V's maps seem to be, there should be way more urban-European and rural village type maps, with MG fortifications/nests you can build, maybe crates with 'battle pickups' like (X country specific) a flamethrower or a mortar system similar to BF3's support mortar tube or maybe an anti-tank rifle/rocket, being able to build some sandbags and other 'makeshift armor' on tanks and vehicles could've been a neat addition, there's a FEW maps where you can build entire walkways leading to a bridge and what have you which is something that should've been way more prevalent, maybe even some small underground tunnels through trench systems or something that open a little pathway into objectives. I'm not inherently against the whole mechanic but the fact is it was added in because Fortnite was sadly about the biggest game going at the time, battle royale and a Lego system to get on the hype train, it could've been implemented so much better (same with the entire game itself).
@@CommanderLongJohn Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I really hope they bring the fortification system back only have it be more extensive. I want to be able to see a map fully transform into a veritable fortress lol
He's more effective than snipers picking off noobs who arent even playing the objective. The hidden hand of the game. Or he gets demolished by bombs :/
i do this all day... i love BFV but on ps4 there are no hardcore servers anymore, so I'm kinda bored. having to shoot someone three times, regenerative health & kill cams.. what's the point? So I just do this & sneak behind the enemy to steal bases.
I wish the fortification system had been attached to bf1s instead of bfV. It would've been so satisfying to build fortifications in one of the more static wars in history. Instead it's stuck to the second worst battlefield in recent memory where class identity is basically dead.
BFV ain't actually that bad, its just that Dice stopped supporting it once things are getting better. Besides, its still leagues better than the true dumpster fire that is Battlefield 2042.

hey just commenting 6 months later to say times have changed and people are doing this more.
More often than not, the player would have been more useful as another body which could have pushed the objectives…
it's so relaxing to watch, i think i'm gonna go with the engineer from now on
That man could build the Red Fort by himself

I mean, Combat Engineers have been around since the Napoleonic Wars.

It's best in breakthrough mode
While your team isn’t defending the point, neither will the back capping enemy. People just don’t tend to hang around and protect an obj

MORE SANDBAGS!
When I was a young lad and raced BMX, my vision of the world was like this. Running around seeing possible ramps to use or build everywhere. Hahaha
Keep up the good works man! And if the fortification will make your team tank having difficulties to maneuver, maybe dont built it and just spam AT mine. Also dont forget to close the door 🤣
It would be cool if you could build just as much as you destroy in battlefield.
The M30 Drilling is such an OP weapon. Shotgun and Rifle all in kne
If the teams had AI soldiers that would defend and do basic actions, stuff like this would become so much more meaningful

fortifications were dope especially when you were too high to actually shoot
Tank roadblocks and barbed wire are the best fortifications to build, in that respective order. (For defense)
