brilliant content John, would it be possible for you to do a few egg identification videos with a camera down the lens, most of existing videos across internet relate to USA or Africa
Hi Raymond, thanks for your comment! Under the microscope we can only differentiate nematodirus and cocci - the eggs of all the other worms look the same (there are others that you can identify, but they're not relevant). If you have a look at the faecal egg count video earlier on the play list, we have a screen showing the three identifiable eggs together. Hope that's useful!
@@raymondwarrington9950 no not a mcmaster, they would be doing faecal sedimentation test. We can't use mcmaster for fluke because the eggs don't reliably float 👍🏼
I'm in the U.S. and I had no idea you could use a fluke wormer for barber pole worms or that there was a vaccine. Thanks for the information. Love your channel I learn alot from it.
@@kristinbryant6669 thankyou, great to hear that feedback! Yes, closantel specifically will kill haemonchus.. Not sure on the situation with sourcing barbervax in America though - good luck!
👍

Thanks John. How do labs identify fluke, rumen fluke & lungworm eggs in their counts. Are they using the McMaster slide process or a different method?
