The fall of Blitz is honestly such a tragedy. It was THE thing to play to get into the game back in the day but it genuinely seems like its less than even an afterthought at LSS. Every time Skirmish comes around its like "oh yeah this format exists"
Unfortunately it's only because it's been allowed by LSS to do so. I believe this is another symptom of over-listening to the competitive elite following worlds in San Jose.
I'm an avid clash enjoyer and i really want more people to play it in our lgs, i mean it's so inclusive, and the fsct you can run 40-60 cards mainly against fatigue matchups is good for me
I really don’t see why cards banned in CC aren’t automatically banned in blitz… If they’re too strong in CC, they are proportionally stronger in a lower health format. I also agree that blitz potentially needs more care with to keep the balance… If they actually cared about the format…
LSS has the opportunity to really do something with Blitz and reach out to a different set of clientelle than the typical squad of sweats that drop into the local every week with whatever has the highest winrate on talishar. I wish theyd just get rid of the LL system in blitz completely and play fast and loose with the bans. It could be really fun and refreshing
I think the best way they could have gone about it is, in this BnR tell us what *will* be banned in March when the next BnR is. That way you let people have their fun with goofy busted things but then we all know that we won't even have to worry about it come skirmish season.
Can we please stop lying about Benji, he is already in the gutter there has been a massive surge on armor block plus damage prevention heck just this set we got shelter and calming breeze, he is never procing mask and the amount of armor means that spring tidings is just not possible with his health. blitz is already a format where heros can deal 15 to 17 dmg quite easily and kill benji in a turn and the cards that work with his ability mostly block 2 he has low health, low damage and everyone has now access to the infinite value boots against him he doesn't need the needle ban he needs needle

Blitz is just death race CC. I won with Vynnset last season at Skirmish. T0 setup by me, T1 I presented 34 damage.... nothing can support any type of come back from that, unlike CC.
TBF i think a good way to fix blitz would be to ban all legendary cards from the format. Better for new players also and forces players to try other cards.
Honestly, I hate being negative, but LSS seems to be in a weird spot. I think they need to take more time between sets, test more, and get better players testing. It just seems like, they’re worried too much about the next “gimmick”, like clash, transcend, and now mark. A return to expansion sets would be nice too. This game is my biggest passion. And it breaks my heart to see mistake after mistake. Just my opinion. I just hope for better.
This is the same thing they did to my favorite MTG format, and it pushed me out of the game. Because it's not the format that makes them their money, they would just ignore it Now that format is terrible. It sucks when they don't support a format, but I think this game has too many formats for a 5 year old game.
@DiceCommando not necessarily CC only, but for sure 60 card 40 life formats are my preferred way of playing. Even though that's what I prefer, and most players I've talked to, I still 100% understand where the people who like blitz are coming from when they want more attention to the format they like. But I also think pushing 8 or 9 different formats in a game is a bad thing. I think player made formats are great, especially when play groups find new ways to enjoy the hobby, but I've also seen what happens when there's too many formats for R&D to keep up with, and it makes every format horrible or mediocre at best.

@@DiceCommando There's also 2 limited formats, so 6 official formats. Fabrary I think has 9 formats listed on their site (some of which probably aren't official). I have no problem with stores running blitz. Sorry if it came off that way, I just personally don't find it worth the money to pay the same price for a 2 hour event as a 4 hour event. That's just me being frugal. I think it gets confusing when stores flip formats weekly, and everyone has to keep track. Honestly, what I hope can happen is the community can grow enough where we could enough people to run multiple events in a week. Say Saturday night CC and Wednesday night Blitz. Since blitz tournaments with prize out takes like 2.5 hours tops. That means you can start by 6:30 after work and be done before 9pm. I think being the only place to that runs blitz and being able to pull the amount of players you do is great. I think we can both agree it's good for the game, but we've also seen people get confused and show up with wrong decks. Again that's not me saying you shouldn't run blitz, if it came off that way sorry about, that's not how I meant it.
To be fair it wasnt a great format to begin with. Price of entry is still just way too much for a casual format and u just get deleted more easily as the game releases stronger stuff. Do I think Blitz needs attention rn? Yes. Do I think Blitz can be a good format? Yes but they need to do some overhauling so that u dont need to spend like 400 on the Equipment alone.
I've never understood this argument, regarding expensive. It's cheaper than CC, by very definition. The argument shouldn't be "Blitz is bad because it's expensive" it should be "FaB is too expensive". Blaming blitz for that is really not fair.
@@DiceCommando Blitz has suffered from multiple factors, the price of FaB being a primary offender, but I think their relative neglect is the primary issue where the entrenched player base is concerned. Bad for new players, bad for old players. This decision (or lack thereof) continues that trend. I have personally come to the conclusion, based on their inaction, that a full-power max rarity young hero format does not have a healthy place in the FaB ecosystem until LSS commits to an overhaul. Clash seems to me to be the only template for what it should look like, while being a step above commoner.

Implying I should keep the same energy for both is a lil lack luster since both are trying to do different things. CC is THE Competitive Format and kinda the epitome of the game while Blitz is meant to be a more accessible way to play the game for newer players w/o asking for a loan.😂 I also want to clarify that I dont think Blitz is bad format it just feels rlly bad sometimes when u spend a decent chunk of money on a deck u spent alot of time to build just to get deleted within 3 turns or sooner.

The cards just dont support 20 health anymore. A more radical card rule change is needed.

My first thought in not seeing Zephyr banned in Blitz was just that Benji is legal in Blitz, not CC.

Zephyr needle recursion sucks, glad i havent had to see toxicity yet, needle definitle should have been banned in blitz too imo.

If you find Benji op in blitz now go and win some skirmish events. He is barely playable with zephyrs now Imagine with the zephyr ban.

Yesterday I played a Blitz at the Armory in my LGS and against Zen is just unplayable, unfunny etc... So I just decided to not play the format again
