If the coaxial cable used is tri or quad shielded, there will be a few extra prep steps before the compression connector can be slid onto the end of the cable. Klein Tools RG6 compression connectors seemingly have a built-in stop that prevent the cable's dielectric from being pushed too far into the connector (something I wish other manufacturers would do). Manufacturers such as Ideal, PPC (Belden) and Arris (Commscope) sell connectors designed for dual shielded cables and another variant for tri & quad shielded cables. A quick note about coaxial cable & service providers: Service providers such as Comcast use PPC branded cable and connectors. If a technician sees any other branded cable and/or connectors on the line side of the demarcation point, the technician will likely replace the cable with PPC branded or, if non-PPC connectors are applied to the cable, the technician will cut them off and replace with PPC's connectors. Beyond the demarcation point, any cable & connectors can be used. 🙂
In the video you said, "A specialty tool is required for this, I have a tool kit available from Klein tools, I’ll include a link to Amazon in the video ". Where is the link?
