    • @Mewoomoo

      @@marufhossain9314 since George R.R Martin didn't finish the book series in time and the producers of the show had to make the long awaited last season they winged it. This has happened to other shows too like Fullmetal alchemist (2004 version). Given the circumstance and the fact that they were stressed on time I sorta understand why season 8 sucked but it was still upsetting to have such a good show end so badly.

    One of my all-time favorite reaction shots comes from The Five Heartbeats. Toward the end, Choir Boy invites Duck to church telling him that he has a surprise. As Duck sits in the congregation and the choir prepares to sing, Duck has his head lowered. Then a voice, a voice he is historically intimate with, a voice belonging to a brother long since lost down a path of addiction and conspiracy, a voice he never thought he would hear again, rises in a solo opening. From the moment the voice is heard, Duck knows who this is as he slowly raises his head upward toward the voice. The level of emotion, bewilderment, surprise, and inner joy present within Duck is on full display in his face as he sees his old group mate.

    • @StudioBinder
      @StudioBinder  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There's a reason that film is a masterpiece. The reaction shots on Jack (and the nurse) is perfectly timed and makes you feel connected with the characters. What are some of your other favorite reaction shots?

    • @MastersOfMidnight
      @MastersOfMidnight 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jurassic Park when they first see the brachiosaurus. (The Spielberg Look). I like a lot of 70s horror movies. I think a lot of them had reaction shots that were the most terrifying part of the film. The mother's reaction to the nanny hanging herself in the Omen. The mother in Amityville Horror when she sees the red eyes outside the window. Just them looks alone haunted me for years - more than the actual threat.

    This is probably a dumb question but what I still don’t understand is how they literally film shot-reverse shot scenes, like how do they make the cameras not visible? Are they from different takes or are the cameras somehow angled so they’re not within frame or what?

    The Office is full of reaction shots right ?

  • @UKR636
    @UKR636 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the video. However, getting reaction shots is part of every director’s coverage. Meaning, you’re on each of the actors in a scene for both their lines and their reactions (to other off-screen actors delivering their lines). So, making a note to get a reaction doesn’t feel like a critical step in the process. Unless, you’re the writer, looking for a specific type of reaction.

    Leslie Nielsen's reaction here is funnier than the unexpected third hand slapping him. When his character looks just as confused by the nonsense as you the audience, it makes it even funnier. He was a master at reaction shots.
