Elves being weak to iron actually comes from myth, not just comics. In Irish mythology faeries, including elves, could be driven off by raw iron. (This possibly stems from the magnetic properties of some iron isotopes being seen as mystical) this also led to certain items being "lucky" like horseshoes. As it only takes a cursory glance at old fairy tales to know that fairies are very bad luck.
#1 MetroMan's weakness is Copper. After being trapped in an old observatory by his old nemises, Megamind, he was weak enough to be outright killed by a missle.
I liked the colored weakness for the Green Lanterns cause it made them have to be extra creative when dealing with Sinestro's yellow ring. This to me, must go both ways in a Positive/Negative effect when you bring in the other corps but only for the Secondary color rings. Green (Will) should be weakened by Yellow (Fear) but is Powered up by Blue (Hope) (This is True in the GL cartoon). Violet(Compassion) should be weakened by Red (Rage) but Powered up by Blue (Hope) and Orange (Greed) should be weakened by Red (Rage) but Powered up by yellow (Fear). Primary color rings should have no weaknesses but can't be powered up ether.
ah yes, Mxyzptlk....to this day I just wonder how the hell they came up with that name. It looks like somebody just hit random keys or straight up mashed the keyboard....or were just drunk af lol also not a comic book but still superhero related: in Tokumei Sentai Go-Buster ( the original Sentai that was adapted into Power Rangers Beast Morphers ), the Red Ranger freezes up at the mere sight of a chicken. And I mean FREEZES. Like as in he can't move or speak or anything.
Superman is vulnerable to magic... which writers just most often happen to default to hitting him with lightning to signify it's magic.... also rich people in the DC universes seem to have some sort of kryptonite black market they have access to given it's supposed to be an ultra rare substance yet comes in about a baskin robins selection of weird flavors that can do everything from make kryptonians turn into assholes to straight up die. Superman's biggest vulnerability however is even he has no idea how strong he is because he's so used to holding back that he's not always sure when he's giving his all.
Venom gains somewhat of an immunity, like how some people can survive poison after being subjected to it enough, so the weakness isn't as bad as it seems
Well if hes immune to every thing but magic and kryptonite then h3s weak to it just like me and u are weak to bullets and marshmallows cant hurt us (unless u got diabetics)

If I recall correctly, theres a reason that the Symbiote (yes, the race as a whole) are weak to fire and loud noises. It has something to do with the way thier homeworld was destroyed. Some godly being wiped away the planet completely? Look into it, it's really cool.
About Power Girl, she had that "unprocessed materials" weakness back when her powers stemmed from Arion, Lord of Atlantis and all that Atlantean magic. As is often the case with magic in folklore, natural materials have an inherent power that is lost once man does too much work on them. Hence how some magical creatures are said to be weak to "cold iron": that's not iron at a low temperature, it's iron that was found in a pure condition and did not require a forge to craft it into a useful thing. Think of it as iron provided by whatever deities created the world.
They had an explanation where it was Parallax who was trapped inside the main battery who was made of fear energy and had some influence where a GL couldn't effect yellow, probably because it saw it as it's symbol, that it was holy, while a GL's true weakness was overwhelming fear, which it's energy was yellow, just like a member of the Sinestro Corps. weakness was overwhelming willpower. I think I read somewhere that Alan Scott's weakness to wood was subconscious, or may because the ring was made out of wood, and he didn't have that weakness when he was Sentinel and the power, the Starheart, came from him, instead of the ring and battery, during that time.
they slowly go into the bathroom, take off their clothes... urinate...enjoying the sounds of fluid on fluid coming into contact... you can finish the rest @Gabriel B
I think you all meant that saying "Shazam" is Captain Marvel Jr's weakness. Not his own name. And the same weakness applied to Captain Marvel so he should he on the list too. It pretty much applied to everyone with the powers of Shazam.
In the original comics, Captain Marvel Jr. said "Captain Marvel" to transform, not "Shazam." That makes it a slightly worse weakness than saying "Shazam," as that's a word that doesn't usually come up in normal conversation (before DC changed the character's name from Captain Marvel to Shazam) whereas "Captain Marvel" is part of Captain Marvel Jr's name.
Mr.Wolfchamp 1999 Ewan says that he “has to say his name or Shazam depending on the era” which is a tad confusing. Basically Captain Marvel Jr. could be taken out by someone asking ‘who are you’. As you point out the same can now be said of Shazam (the former Captain Marvel)
If Gladiator loses power when he's unsure of himself, he needs to hook up with the Wizard Shazam to get Captain Marvel powers, including the confidence of Achilles. He might not need the rest of it.
Let's not forget the Hulk's big weakness: puppies. The Hulk LOVES puppies, and being near them, or, better yet, being covered by them, makes him feel happy and content. His strength comes from his rage. Happy = no rage, no rage = no strength. He's likely to completely revert into Doc Banner.
Actually, if you read the WELL WRITTEN comics, it's shown Green Lanterns are FULLY AWARE of their weakness to the color yellow... and have trained to work AROUND IT... as Booster Gold painfully found out when he fought Green Lantern Sinistro!
the color yellow wasn't a "weakness" it was a fail safe put in by the Guardians to keep the Green Lanterns from getting TOO powerful in case they went crazy
The dark elves weakness to iron actually makes sense. In folk lore fey (like elves) where spirits of nature and iron was considered unnatural and would burn them upon contact
"So, Green Lanturn what's your weakness?" "Yellow." "Yellow, yellow what?" "The color. Yellow." "..." "... I know." "That's. That's just sad." "I know. Yellow makes me useless. It sucks. I know." "I, I'm gonna go."
Hes wrong about venom, he is weak to fire, because it causes hes symbiotic matter to burn to ashes, however he is only afraid of small fires like a lighter because of the fear of both even a small patch of his body burning, as well as being afraid of the thought of it spreading across his entire body, thus when spidey help the daily bugle torch, he ran, but was not defeated in the same sense as the other characters on this list
I genuinely despise the concept of Mxyzptlk... if him coming from a dimension where the laws of nature is different means he isn’t effected by the laws of nature when he comes here, then that implies that any being traveling cross dimension is only effected by the laws on nature that their home dimension has, which would in effect mean a whole lot of villains should be a lot stronger then they are and a lot of solutions to those villains shouldn’t work... I get that he’s a joke character, but he is made in such a way that it ruins the setting for a lot of stories.

What’s worse: Batman trolling Green Lantern with his colour weakness or Stripper Sue Storm? And, if you want to defeat Power Girl, take her out camping. Also, if you wanna take on both Green Lanterns, fight with wooden weapons painted yellow.
Sean your my living wiki guide lol keep up the great work.
Omega Red Extreme Cold a character created in one of the COLDEST places on earth Probably Insurance BUT still
Elves being weak to iron actually comes from myth, not just comics.
Is this a woosh comment?

That movie is a gem
It looks like somebody just hit random keys or straight up mashed the keyboard....or were just drunk af lol
also not a comic book but still superhero related: in Tokumei Sentai Go-Buster ( the original Sentai that was adapted into Power Rangers Beast Morphers ), the Red Ranger freezes up at the mere sight of a chicken. And I mean FREEZES. Like as in he can't move or speak or anything.
The reason the GLC is vulnerable to yellow is pure symbolism. A being without fear, taken down by the color of fear.
venom has gotten a bit of immunity thanks to being exposed to fire over the years, so it doesn’t hurt him as much as before.
Some of those Wonder Woman panels... :O
tony stark is more like 'gold, titanium alloy man'
Superman is vulnerable to magic... which writers just most often happen to default to hitting him with lightning to signify it's magic.... also rich people in the DC universes seem to have some sort of kryptonite black market they have access to given it's supposed to be an ultra rare substance yet comes in about a baskin robins selection of weird flavors that can do everything from make kryptonians turn into assholes to straight up die. Superman's biggest vulnerability however is even he has no idea how strong he is because he's so used to holding back that he's not always sure when he's giving his all.
Symbiotes can also be vulnerable to hyper sonics. Like a church bell.
Venom gains somewhat of an immunity, like how some people can survive poison after being subjected to it enough, so the weakness isn't as bad as it seems
Why didn’t they just use Captain Marvel instead of captain marvel Jr???
True,
Thumbnail: Batman drinks water covered in piss while Green lateren is about to do the biggest BOI ever
Super man ain't weak to magic but he is not resistant to it like every thing else..... splitting hairs here but true
Well if hes immune to every thing but magic and kryptonite then h3s weak to it just like me and u are weak to bullets and marshmallows cant hurt us (unless u got diabetics)
@@davidmacko983 quite literally Kryptonite puts him to his knees, he just doesn't have any resistance to magic. Think Pokemon he's resistant to everything except for magic which is only just effective and Kryptonite it's super effective
Gladiator is Pennywise level stupid weakness
Solution to the fire thing? Have the symbiote withdraw within its host 😂
Doesn't the color green consist of yellow and blue?
If you’re talking pigment, yes. If you’re talking light, no. Talking about light, green plus red equals yellow.
Lol so what happens when a green lantern goes to the restroom
I imagine they just piss green then.
they slowly go into the bathroom, take off their clothes... urinate...enjoying the sounds of fluid on fluid coming into contact... you can finish the rest @Gabriel B
He stays really hydrated

@@tomatooverlord2764 in the video I thought they said Shazam is the name he says
The venom symbiote may have PTSD from being lit on fire. I mean, I’d be terrified of Fire if I got lit on fire.
Ok so I can just imagine an angry mum give Alan Scott a hiding with the wooden spoon
Number 10 i felt was dumb since theres a lot of old folk lore about how fairies and other magic beings are weak to iron
The color yellow weakness is a thing of the past tho
Yah their not affected by yellow anymore
the color yellow wasn't a "weakness" it was a fail safe put in by the Guardians to keep the Green Lanterns from getting TOO powerful in case they went crazy
> it was a fail safe...
Also known as inprisoned in power battery yellow entity of fear. Parallax.
Sorry, but Cannonball's methodic takedown of Gladiator was pretty awesome.
Fae folk are usually weak to iron in a lot of traditional folklore, so it only makes sense that dark elves are too.
I don't think Mxyzptlk's weakness is stupid. It's like demons, names are important to them.
The dark elves weakness to iron actually makes sense. In folk lore fey (like elves) where spirits of nature and iron was considered unnatural and would burn them upon contact
Iron Man's armor is not made of iron
"So, Green Lanturn what's your weakness?"
"Yellow."
"Yellow, yellow what?"
"The color. Yellow."
"..."
"... I know."
"That's. That's just sad."
"I know. Yellow makes me useless. It sucks. I know."
"I, I'm gonna go."
"...boob window..."
Is green lantern weak to me because I’m Asian
I genuinely despise the concept of Mxyzptlk... if him coming from a dimension where the laws of nature is different means he isn’t effected by the laws of nature when he comes here, then that implies that any being traveling cross dimension is only effected by the laws on nature that their home dimension has, which would in effect mean a whole lot of villains should be a lot stronger then they are and a lot of solutions to those villains shouldn’t work...
I get that he’s a joke character, but he is made in such a way that it ruins the setting for a lot of stories.
