A few years back, I was in Mumbai chatting to an Indian bloke, who had been a driver for VIP clients of a 5 star hotel. He was Packer's driver, but was instructed never to speak to him unless spoken to. 2 weeks after Packer left the hotel, every employee from dishwashers, to waiting staff to cleaners, received a large sum of money as a tip from Packer.
Packer never forgot the battler.

love it guys ..... Packer stories .... try this one.... CEO of Mirage Resorts, Bobby Baldwin, explained in this exchange with the LasVegas Review Journal’s Norm Clark two days after Packer’s death:
"Packer was at one table and a Texan, playing one table over, wanted some bigger action. Packer turned him down.
The other guy said, ‘I’m a big player too. I’m worth a hundred million.’
Kerry replied, ‘If you really want to gamble, I’ll flip you for it (the $US100 million).’
The Texan quietly went back to his game.
I rolled for one hour once at the Treasure Island Casino on the craps Table , when Steve Wynn owned it , the table dropped 45 grand that night between all eight of us Gambling , Dealers where Awesome, my wife and I and six strangers who all left as Friends , whole table won , paid for my holiday , whole hotel bill comped , best night of my life !
When Jeff Fenech was in Vegas with a heap of mates for Jeff Harding vs Dennis Andries they were watching Kerry Packer on a winning streak & he gave seven of them $125,000 each just for being Jeff's mates. Jeff politely declined to accept but for the rest of the boys it was life changing. Absolute legend.
I spent a night gambling with Jeff in Sydney. Also, I met Harding years later. A sloppy drunk dribbling all over himself. That said, his fight against Andreas was incredible.

Kerry's greatest payout was selling his TCN9 & GTV9 television stations to Alan Bond and becoming Australia's first cash billionaire with a hook of $200m in preference shares in Bond's total purchase price ($1.185b). Within 2 years Kerry redeemed the preference shares to regain ownership of 5 National Nine Network tv stations......More than a 🐳 , much, much more.

The cocktail waitress story is I believe he bumped into her and knocked her drinks everywhere and paid off her house there’s another story where he wanted to tip the dealer $80,000 she said she couldn’t accept it since they had to share tips. He ordered the pit boss to fire her or he would leave. She gets fired he pushes the chips to her and then orders the pit boss to rehire her immediately 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Best Packer story involves another patron at the MGM.. Packer was playing, a rich Texan approached him not knowing who he was and started being an ass.
Packer asked him to back off, the Texan supposedly replied with the old, "Do you know who I am", to which the Packer reply was, "No".
"I happen to be worth $100 million," said the Texan.
Packer just said, "I'll flip you for it."

Not general knowledge . The Packer bets were shared between a number of bookmakers. Packer was losing 10 million coming to the last in 1987 Randwick Sydney . He had a bet of 11-2 million on the last to get up on the post so he won 1 million on day. Big money now . Massive money in 1987.
Here is another Kerry Packer story! So the man loved junk food, burgers,chips,pies fried chicken you name it! Any way late one night in Sydney he rocks up to this little greasy spoon pub and asked for a burger and fries the owner said “sorry mate we are closing up kitchen is closed” so Kerry just says no worries have a good night! Anyway he goes across the road to a fish and chip shop and they say we are closing up but we will serve you! So what does he do after he eats his food he goes up to the owner of the fish and chip shop and says here is a check for a hundred thousand dollars but if you want it you have to go across the road and tell the owner of the burger shop what I did for you and well yeah
