- In this video, we’re looking at 3 of the most important moments in Tennessee Williams’ play A Streetcar Named Desire: namely Scene 2 when Stanley says “The Kowalskis and the DuBois have different notions” when he interrogates his wife Stella about Blanche’s loss of the DuBois plantation home, Belle Reve; Scene 3 when Stella explains to Blanche why, despite Stanley’s abusive behaviour, she continues to stay with him (“There are things that happen between a man and a woman in the dark that sort of make everything else seem unimportant.”); and Scene 9, when Blanche tells Mitch that she “doesn’t want realism” but “magic”, and what that implies about her character and psyche. This analysis is jam-packed with detailed analyses, so make sure you watch this closely to pick up some good ideas for your next Streetcar essay or exam!

hello, jen chan. do you think stanley and blanche are dionysian characters. if so, how can I incorporate it into my essays. Please do more Streetcar videos!!! Your channel is actually a lifesaver 🤞
Hmm do you mean Dionysian as in sensual, spontaneous and volatile? If so, then yes, I can see how both Stanley and Blanche embody those qualities. Perhaps you'd expand on how they each exemplify these 'Dionysian' traits in your essay, and compare them.

Could you maybe do a video on cat on a hot tin roof or the Color purple ?

Could you do a videoon cat on a hot tin roof please😊?
That's a bit too niche for the overall viewership of my channel, I'm afraid! At least for the next few months, the focus will be on Streetcar and Handmaid, but happy to do skills-related videos like unseen poetry/prose reading, essay writing, literary analysis ideas/tips etc. Anything you'd be interested in from these? Let me know if so :)
@JenChan yeah I think unseen sounds really good I can't wait!
🫶🏼🫶🏼 I appreciate your content thank u sm!!
