I've been following this channel for more than a year now, and I've found myself waiting all day for your videos. The more I see, the more I want to live like you. Sure it's not easy, sure most of the jobs I'd have access to when I finish my studies will be easier, but that's what I want to live. But going from studying engineering to farming with your wife and kids look like a leap of faith I don't have the guts to do. Maybe I'm too young. Sorry for the bad English, I'm French.

I love the time-lapse as you all were working on the garden, and in the background above we could see the storm building. Very cool. I tried planting out bell peppers in our tiny garden beds this season, but then I discovered we have crazy high pest pressure for any kind of pepper. All the leaves were stripped inside 24 hours. Guess I need a second indoor veggie tower now.
I spread more mulch in our flower beds and made 2 kinds of Sourdough and burger buns for dinner with organic flour. You really have me planning out my work in the yard this year.
Nice scaled down version of the larger turkey shelter you mentioned. Everything is looking so so green in your videos. Lots of food to harvest and can in the future.

We are about to leave our town life in the south east of England to start our country life in the mountains of western Scotland with 7 acres, a river and a 150 year old derelict stone barn. Plan is to build a house, grow our food, plant an orchard and keep a few animals. We are learning so much from your videos and really looking forward to putting some of it into action. A quick non farming question...what do you film your videos on and what do you use to edit them?

Wondering if you have considered a rocket stove mass heater or something similar? I remember you recently mentioned looking into alternative heating solutions. Wood is a limited resource and is used for so many different purposes (burning, building, compost). Just thought you may want to check this option out.

Curious - before you mow the luchadore (sp) field, wouldn't help to bring the cattle over - and just move them faster so they don't graze the grass down to short?
I've been calling around (poultry vets, feed mill, and hatchery) and I can't seem to get any other answer for the issue I'm having other than that I should have been feeding my cornish X medicated feed instead of organic mash. Chicks are about 1.5 weeks old and are exhibiting signs of gape worm. Gasping for air and signs of less than holy chicken squat. But my question is do you have any issues raising a breed that is meant for factory production in an organic context? I thought I would try raising cornish X this time but now I'm not so sure. I don't want to compromise on using medicated feed but I also want to do the right thing as someone caring for them.
Hi Justin, I just stop the video cause I wanted to say that you should try your sheep the same way you do with the pigs, SHEEP SHEEP SHEEP is fine, but try to give them an incentive, a small one, could be the same than the cows. Take the time to build an habit and then you go, no more chasing sheep. They are such an incredibly intelligent animals. I remember my grandpa in Spain, he built that habit and did an association with a piece of whistle. He did the same with the cows but trying a different sound and it worked every single day. It was an astonishing thing to see for a young boy. You could open the gate to the cows, do the whistle you like, and with some hay in a bucket just go all the way back to the station. After a week they should already have associated the whistle with the incentive. Something else I wanted to add is the protection in the station while you are milking. Cows have personalities as human has. I have watched some videos where Lily have their feet to close to the cow ones, a false movement could be a problem. Even a bad fly (I don't know the name in English) could sting your cow at any moment causing an abrupt movement that could bring some damage to your daughter. Watch it closely and you will realize what I mean. From experience, I told you that the same docile cows that came from a whistle broke a leg of mi grandma. To conclude, your family is doing a wonderful work. Keep it going. I plan to do mine in the future and recover the lands of my grandpa. You are kind of and inspiration bro. I will let you know when I can make my idea happen in Spain. Cheers everyone.

You need Forced Air dryer for Teddy. I call it a ‘Blaster’. Blasts the water off with hose. :))
You do know that they mill 2x3's? It would make your shaw soo much lighter, yet structurally sound.
