Mercedes AMG’s mad scientists have once again created a monster package with the 2nd generation AMG GT. With a new design and a few surprises, the new GT is set to spearhead Mercedes’ efforts as the brand’s flagship all-wheel-drive sports car.
The AMG GT for 2024 is based on a completely new chassis that’s shared with its Mercedes SL sibling. As you’ve probably noticed from the image, the new AMG GT has a slightly longer wheelbase than its predecessor.
Mercedes is targeting the mighty Porsche 911 as the main competitor for the 2nd generation of the AMG.
The new AMG GT comes standard with a brand new Chassis along with a new suspension setup.
The German muscle car’s suspension for the 2nd-gen AMG is made up of a variety of features.
For starters, it’s got a new set of shocks.
Anti-roll bars are replaced by active hydraulic-connected shock absorbers.
Adaptive shock absorbers are also fitted with hydraulic connections.
All in all, the AMG 2nd generation has a neat package that Mercedes calls AMG Active.
