2:00 crazy to think the grand world of ASOIAF started with a simple chapter where 'medeival people find direwolf pups' I find his approach to world building very inspiring
It's a mysterious thing in writing where the characters you create propel the story forward. You know how it starts. You know how it ends. But how we get there, that's the job for the characters to choose.
Then he would have died to poison from an unknown source or "accidentally" fallen on the throne of swords. One thing that captivated me from Martin's writting is that wielding a sword is just one form to demostrate power.
It is funny how George Martin's idea of what an architect does is completely detached from reality. As a "real" architect (one that designs buildings not computer systems) I have to say that George Martin has absolutely no idea how an architect actually works and also doesn't seem to know what an architect does. The blueprint is the outcome of the architect’s work and so is the writer manuscript. The architect does not build the buildings and the writer does not print the books. Hence, for this metaphor to be true the work of an architect would be to plan the plan.

Dont forget about the summer snows.
This begining made me want a game of thrones audiobook narrated by him.
Oh God don't give him any more ideas for distractions lol
No! If he begins to read all the five, before the dance with dragons he dies of natural causes and old age
Ai- hold my 1's and 0's
Robert E Howard is an underrated writer. His prose are just breathtakingly beautiful and visceral.

Anyone else come here sometimes just to hear that first bit? It brings me peace.
That sword and sworcery books font is so nice. Make the book cooler. Did I drink coffee today? I drank tea, this I know.
I believe that Cimmeria is pronounced with a hard C, like Conan and the Celts - but whatever, Robert Howard wrote some truly wonderful stuff
If Conan was in Westeros he would've stayed the dragons, defeated the Night King and taken the Iron Throne without breaking a sweat.

He has written arguably the best and most famous fantasy series since the LOTR books. He’s always been a great writer.

Why don’t you go tell him then
And thus you are no writer, my friend.
Yeah nice one bro
You’re right, he should’ve said “you’re either a gardener or the illegal immigrant working $10 an hour.”
Wow you are a bum. Fine an engineer. I fucking dare you to tell me that description wouldn't be apt for what he is describing.
