Last time I stayed in a Premier Inn in London I made a bacon buttie wrapped it up, and a couple of muffins for my train ride home to Lancashire that evening 🤣 make breakfast last until tea time
The egg problem is that they are cooked in massive individual Yorkshire pudding tins, so depending on the evenness of the oven you can get between fairly runny and cremated in the same tin. But as others have mentioned you can always ask for whatever you want to be freshly cooked. Also the toasters conveyor belt in Premier inn's seem to be set on fast, meaning 2 passes for brown toast and 4 passes for a crispy crumpet.
They're usually loads of eggs. You can just chose whichever one looks best. TBH it's a bit poor to slate the egg without even trying it........
I've stayed here before and it was great,I always stay at premier inns cant beat there brekkie and where ever I've stayed the quality has been great
All the premier inns I've stayed at have a continental, and unlimited cooked to order full English, been bang on for the money.

I stayed at the Premier Inn Dover Central during stop over doing the Cantii Way a few days ago and it was a buffet. TBH it's the first time I'd had their breakfast, as other times I've stayed in one I've gone to a local Wetherspoon for breakfast. As buffets go it was pretty good.
I've stayed at a lot of premier inns over past few years and have to say it depends what company the inn is connected to for breakfasts some are better than others.
PS think it also depends on the staff who's doing the cooking.
I totally agree. I suppose a bit like travel lodge the dry mushrooms was under the heat lamp for a while ?? How about the bottles of branded sauce instead of sachet to be honest both the veggie and regular sausage in travel lodge looked dry as F
Also depending on how busy both of them are

We stay at premier inns now and then with the kids as they’re ideal . We always do breakfast as it’s such a great deal as is the travelodge. . We’ve always found the breakfast to be very hit and miss. Usually better when it’s linked to a beefeater rather than brewers fayre! Better in both of those than In hotel itself . We’ve had one with a table table restaurant linked but can’t remember what it was like !

I think a lot depends on the time you go as well. It's not like a pub or cafe where it's cooked to order so that's why I always try and go down to breakfast as early as possible when I'm staying at a hotel... Like a lot of the comments, Premier Inn has always been the better of the two for breakfasts for me in the past so was a little surprised at this result.
Love a prem inn breakfast. Had one at London Rainham this morning. Hot food cooked to order and very tasty… but coffee machine had no beans (change of supplier issues) so only instant available so for that 8/10
I agree with the score there Lee. That is all i will say with reference to the Premier Inn all you can eat breakfast.
Just an idea for a food review how about finding a place that does Middle Eastern food
Can’t believe that. I have had 2 premier inn breakfasts this week and they have been 9/10. Offers more: Black Pudding, Bubble & Squeak and pastries. Think that chain is just below par. I refuse to eat Travelodge breakfasts. Sub par to Premier Inn in my opinion.

Odd to have fried eggs in a bay Marie scabbled yeah ,fried just no has to be sent out as soon as it leaves a pan .5/10 underwhelming dose not meet the expextions as advertised at a standard breaky even

Looked OK that Lee, but I agree, the Travelodge looked way better. The highlight for me was a COOKED tomato instead of the regular WARM tomato. Quite the opposite for the toast though, that was warm bread. Needed at least another 2 runs through the machine.
Agree with most. However, did npt see croissants, muffins etc in travelodge. Plus points there so 7.3 for me.
I think it’s great value especially if you have a little one with you . The only thing I don’t like is the eggs , why don’t they have someone to cook eggs in front of you . That’s what they do in most hotels in Vietnam and you can choose how you want them cooked . 7 out of 10
Great video. It's good to see the comparisons that are out there for food. Wow when I saw those eggs I felt like they were watching me. Maybe they are an alien life form. On appearance except eggs the food looked a clinically okay. I guess I'm never going to find out how hash browns made it to the full English. I would give the food a 6.5. By the way did I tell you I now work for the Nutella police force. If you see any wandering around london unaccompanied please call our hotline.

I thought that TL would best PI, I just do have more of a liking for the ‘lodge and I’ve stayed in many! Although you’re right in the fact that the perception is PI is seen to be better than TL but perhaps that’s down to the marketing? Maybe the word ‘Premier’ is used by them in a clever way?
You must have noticed the sausages had a ‘slight’ bend in it, so there’s got to be a point in that haha!
All in all I completely agree, and the fact that the TL brekkie was cheaper is a win for me!

All looked a bit dried out. Would like to know if you went in around the same time at Premier Inn compared to Travelodge. Pretty sure they would have done some fresh fried eggs 🍳 if you asked.
More expensive at Premier Inn and not as good. But better selection maybe.

Pubs tied to Premier Inns & indeed the Premier Inns are all owned by the same company, Whitbread. The sausage, bacon, beans etc that you get in a Premier Inn restaurant is the same as the one in a Beefeater or Table Table or Brewers Fayre. Indeed, they once owned Costa Coffee until they sold out to that big Red Cola brand.
Had loads of great Breakfasts in the PI, maybe you just had a bad one. Next time maybe...

Still prefer the premier inn over and above on both accommodation and food oh and they offer marmite too 😄😄 even though marmite comes always with me abroad - premier inns are more value for money as u can buy a food package ie evening meal & breakfast which is far cheaper than purchasing separately

I was supprised it wasn't nice..last time I had one it was very nice.. maybe depends on where you stay.maybe they half cut back on the quality.what I don't like about the premier Inn now is how expensive it is to stay there ,since covid, ridiculous as ment to be budget hotel xx

Yes, I stayed there 2 yrs ago for few days & had a great lunch & good breakfast. Staff service excellent. Restaurant part of the hotel open to the public.

I did warn you bout premiers breakfast Macca, we stayed in Weymouth premier inn last summer and the breakfast was terrible so bearing that in mind I’m giving premier 0/10, I was so disappointed I’d really like to give it a minus score 👎🏻
All depends on who cooked it Michael.
Why dose travel lodge win with (named brands) on the cereal, if you couldn't distinguish if it was or wasn't a named brand at the Premier inn then you shouldn't comment on it.

Yeah that didn't look to bad apart from the eggs they looked like one you'd get from a joke shop very rubbery not very nice but guess that happens when they get left out under a heat lamp for goodness knows how long
premier inn breakfast are absolutley rank all pre cooked at 6/7am and left under heat lamps all morning 1/10
Some of the smaller Premier Inns cook the breakfast to order, not all are buffet style.
I know ye like your toast well done so ye won't have liked that "hot bread" ye got... I spotted ye changed your "cereal to fry up order"- i'm feeling much less insecure now - I always eat the Cereal first 5.5/10

Travelodge looked superior no rubber eggs.
I have stayed in many many travelodges and have to say they have raised their game in the last year or so and now Travelodges are actually better than Premier Inns
Eggs🤦♂️when left too long on the hot plate. Tomato too. Looked ok though overall.
Go to Pelliccis'..do not pass Go or collect 200 quid, just get there for the best breakfast IN THE WORLD!

We’ve just come back from a premier inn at Scarborough couldn’t fault it one bit to be honest we’ve stayed at quite a few premier inns around the country and really enjoy the food and the really comfy Hypnos beds too 😴 we will continue to be fans of these hotels 🥰👍🏻
In London all the Premier Inns have their own onsite restaurants called Tyme, no Beefeaters, no Brewers Fayre. And often cheaper to stay than the Travelodges. Every Premier Inn has an onsite restaurant, not all Travelodges do.

I would like to also disagree with you you can ask for fresh eggs and whatever else you would like they will do if fresh for you just ask the waiter the cereals are Kellogg at premier inn so yeah just ask the waiter and they will give you fresh breakfast
At least it was a real egg. You can ask for a fresh one. It deffo looked better than travelodge
I have always found Premier Inn a good, reliable place to stay. Always clean and comfortable, at a good price. Great breakfasts, too.
In general i've preferred Premier Inn over Travelodge however the breakfast I had in the Woolwich Arsenal one was awful. This was run by Beefeater however i've been there before and not had an issue.

Think you've been unlucky there. I have stayed in many Travelodge Lodge and Premier Inns and Premier inn has always won hands down. However Premier inn in most cases weren't buffet. You ordered what you wanted from the waitress and it was always cooked fresh. You then ordered more of it if you wanted at no extra cost. If they've gone over to buffet style, then that's probably why. It had probably been sitting there too long and dried up. Maybe you arrived at breakfast late into the service? Anyway enjoyed the vlog thanks
Premier Inn offer black pudding. Travelodge don't. That's a mark down in my book.

at least you got HP in a bottle worth a point haha the lodge didn't do that - you can ask them to do you a fresh egg over easy at the premier inn - fried eggs are never good on the counter unless its scrambled like at the lodge you did before even thats debatable - next time ask them to do you one 🥚
As someone for years has stayed in Premier Inn and Travelodge for years and I mean over 100 nights a year. I can assure you the Premier Inn is miles better. If you want scrambled or poached eggs they will get them for you and I think as someone said if you don't like your fried eggs they will get you some more. I think you got a bad one there. Orange juice is like water in the travelodge and the coffee is not a patch on Premier Inn. Just my view but from probably over 1000 nights of having the breakfasts. Yes I should really stick to the fruit salad.

I think Premier Inn is probably better than Travelodge as you in the Brewers Fayre Whitbread group so there a restaurant in the evening

I was in a premier inn a couple of weeks ago in london, ive never eaten egg like it - almost plastic with a runny yolk, the sausages were lovely though. If you didnt notice, they cook everything in one industrial cooker - it cooks sausages, bacon, hasbrowns and egg all at once, a bit weird. .But i agree, average at best. Premier inn rooms are far superior to Travelodge though.

Looked poor, and like someone below said Premier breakfast can vary considerably between places and day.

Me and the misses had a breakfast at the Lincoln branch 2 weeks ago and it wasn't too bad but let down by some of the cooked items being barely warm (especially the bacon, beans) as they had been sat out.
Also like any buffet they make money because many people don't eat £10 worth.
Looked like the better brekky to be fair than Travelodge, only had one breakfast at Premier Inn and it was excellent. Kings Cross, service and food quality was excellent.
I've been a 'victim' of both chains cooked breakfasts. I personally wouldn't recommend either, mostly because the food has often been left out, for who knows how long. - to receive the best quality, you have to hit them, when the food is fresh. I'd much rather support a non chain or unfranchised smaller business that HAS to focus on quality and value.. for their survival. - you've got a much better chance of a tastier meal.

One of the best hotel chains.
Aside from the eggs the Premier looked better to me, but neither have been great in my experience. If a chain is advertising the brand of beans and hash browns it uses then I always assume it’s going to be bad and they’re just using the brands as a smokescreen. I also don’t really care what brand of beans I get as long as they taste nice, and I don’t think Heinz beans or McCains hash browns are anything close to the gold standard - just another overpriced brand for the suckers to pay more for.
The Marmite was a good touch at the Premier Inn though, and I’d probably end up mainly smashing a pile of toast with that slathered on it.
I know Heinz Beans is the best known brand, but much prefer Branston, much better sauce consistency.
A bottlle of HP now thats worth a point
Premier Inn is a lot better breakfast than Travelodge.
You can always ask for a freshly cooked egg. I worked in a hotel similar to this and the pendants got your back up.
The only problem it’s only as good when it’s cooked fresh or how long it’s been sitting there because I’ve been to a few premier inn and had nice cooked breakfast.
