      Do you have any information about dileesh pothan whether he will direct a movie again or not? It looks like, he has taken the acting as full time profession rather than directing movies. I personally like his direction skills more than acting skills.

    • @AP-pb7op
      @AP-pb7op 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@ATAURRAHMAN-dk8jxHe will direct only if he gets a suitable subject which satisfies him, not just to increase the number. That is why all the films directed by him are very good. But to become financially stable you can't just be a director who directs one movie every few years. That is why he has ventured into acting and production. This is a wise move as all the directors who were confined to direction alone are in a very poor financial situation now. Examples are the super directors of the past like Sibi Malayil, Kamal, Rajasenan, Shaji Kailas etc. Lal is the exception as he ventured into acting, production and distribution as well.

    Man, Today only I watched it in theatres. What a brilliant movie it is!!! It has been 4-5 years for me to got introduced with mollywood movies....My first Malayalam movie was Joji.....🔥🔥🔥 Now, after watching back to back malayalam movies.. seriously I am not able to watch other cinema....

      @ATAURRAHMAN-dk8jx 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +42

      People always used to say this Malayalam movies are good in writing....but I personally think they have mastered not only the art of screenplay writing, also composing classic background score as in the case of Kishkindha Kaandam score by Mujeeb ...art of cinematography, art of editing, and list never ends....I just want Malayalam cinema to be like this only forever......kisi ki buri nazar nah lage....and I can keep watching fabulous cinema like this year's.....
      The state of Kerala is unique, I had never imagined that one day I will be learning Malayalam language...I never ever watch any movie or content in non-original language....specifically Malayalam content...with subtitles

When I did not know about Malayalam movies then also, I used to watch, like and love these types of movies from Bollywood and Hollywood.....I used to watch movies of Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Vishal Bhardwaj, Rakesh Omprakash Mehra, Anubhav Sinha, VikramAditya Motwane etc.....Not sure whether you know these guys or not as you already have brilliant filmmakers that too in bulk 😂 ......

      I watched Joji because one among the above mentioned directors applauded it and promoted it in Hindi speaking regions....And, it was that day when I saw Fahadh Faasil ......wow!!!!!! Since then I used to fight with Hindi speaking audience that all of your cult, classic and epic comedy movies are nothing but the remakes of Malayalam movies by Priyadarshan.......

    Keralites are a diverse group, with genetic influences from various cultures and civilizations that traveled to the region over centuries. Kerala's unique geographic position, with its coastline along the Arabian Sea and access to the Western Ghats, made it a hub for trade and cultural exchanges. Ancient travelers from the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and other parts of India reached Kerala, contributing to a rich blend of ethnicities and traditions. This cultural diversity, along with a long history of literacy, education, and progressive social values, has played a key role in shaping Kerala's distinct identity and its exceptional contributions to cinema and the arts.

      I am a proud Malayalee and I guess the only difference is the literacy rate. Everyone therefore reads newspapers and is well versed with the World around.

    As you said the loop scene was a bit of standout, even after the end is revealed the scene could have been better portaited with child chased by asif around the home, while granddad is watching from the balcony.
    The 2nd scene must have been for done for more wider acceptance. coz in the starting phase of disease, he could have more insight into his disease, which also he chose to forget while his search continued. Being a military man than could have been his well planned last mission. And with his reveal to his son, he may have given asif the closure, which we also needed. Such a closure in future is not possible. That scene worked for me and I did cry like a fool. May be in a director's cut, the ending you suggested may be apt. Anyway great movie, great review, planning multiple-multiple rewatches✌️✌️

    National and state awards will come through for this movie next year! 🏆
    Excellent and must watch in theater!
    Vijayaraghavan sir, Asif sir and Aparna ma'am holds the movie throughout in its needed suspense!
    Outstanding support from Ashokan sir and Jagadeesh ettan and most of the supporting actresses and actors.
    I only wish the music, bgm, sound editing gets the recognition it needs. Absolutely stunning visuals and the sound effects matching to match it! The bgms to the visuals while hearing and seeing it in theaters is out of this world!
    Must watch in theaters. Don't wait for OTT as this is a visual spectacle and the last 45mins is some outstanding acting by both Vijayaraghavansir and Asif sir!
    I only hope the film gets the recognition it needs in the next national and state awards! Shout out to Dinjith Ayyathan, Bacula Ramesh, Joby George Thadathil and Goodwill Entertainments to put this together! 👏👏

  • @jeljojose

    Malayalam cinema is such a kind of acquired taste that once you get hooked, there is no going back to the usual stuff that’s dished out. The attempt to painfully recollect, investigate and record the forgotten only to destroy it upon finding its truth uncomfortable and then repeating the entire process afresh again because it's forgotten was really an eye opener on the travails the patients of Alzheimer or Dementia suffer and how some of them adapt to survive independently. Incorporating such an element of time loop in a non sci-fi movie shows the limitless possibilities of our imagination.

    Excellent, gripping movie. I agree with you about the spiral staircase dream. That was not needed. But what irked me was the BGM. How I wish they had used Sushin Shyam or Jakes Bejoy. The BGM here was so overpowering, it jarred and reduced the impact of the story.

    Great review and discussion Nona Prince. I am sure you, me and countless others who watched it has the same reaction through out the movie because its just the way how gripping this story is been written and executed. I totally agree with your second point about the meeting/hugging of the Ajaya and Appu towards the end. the story is written with no loose ends, every person, every scene and every dialogue has a meaning in broader context. I could not make sense why the last meeting was necessary. Hear me out, Ajaya took his wife to hospital. In the meantime, Appu saw the gun and the dead child. Thinking that he might have to bear the blame, he cleans the room, cremates the body and hide the gun. By the time Ajaya returns Appu has forgot about it (Or is he?). As shown, Appu looking at father drinking something casually in the living room. Here the scene ends. I do not get it how did, Appu remembered to do the investigation after it. Help us out pleasee.

      because Appu later came to know that the kid is missing and he also knows that he himself has the forgetfulness issue. So he starts to suspect himself and investigates for the answer. when he finds the answer, he erases it by burning everything to forget.... only to go into the loop again.

    The first half for me was like what is this it's so boring and slow paced . But then when i got to the interval i was at the edge of my seat it was intriguing and confusing because the story till then hasn't reached anywhere but after watching the second half it all made sense. This movie is the perfect example of the phrase "sabar ka phal meetha hota hai". Because it was all worth it in the second half. The more and more we discovered about the characters the more and more we feel a part of them. And the mind-boggling bomb shell in the end was the perfect icing on the cake. This movie was clearly made with so much care and thought. Amazing direction and what an amazing storytelling. 10 on 10 would recommend. One of the best suspense movies I watched this year after Bhrama yugam
