Here today, to comment on the Four Tops’ signature song because the last of them, Mr. Duke Fakir has been called home to the recording studio in the sky at the ripe old age of 88. RIP Mr. Duke, I know that concert up there must be great.
I only just now found out. Unfortunately, his death was overshadowed by Joe Biden dropping out of the presidential election. Regardless, I wish Duke peace in the next life 🙏
BLESS YOU MATE! I WAS ONLY VERY YOUNG, LIKE 10 YEARS OLD AND I ALWAYS LOVED YOU GUYS TO BITS! THANKS FOR THE GREAT TIMES GUYS! I SAW U PERFORM IN BIRMINGHAM UK WHEN I WAS 14 YEARS OLD! AMAZING!!! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!
This is a wonderful example of what real music sounds like. These are real musicians. I grew up not just with the Four Tops but with listening to Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Supremes, Little Richard, The Jackson 5, The Beatles, Petula Clark, LuLu, The MaCoys, The Rolling Stones, The Who. I can keep going on but I'm sure I'm boring you good people and I'm sorry.
When I was very little, my Grandmother made a bunch of home videos of me from the time I was born to the time I was 3 years old. This is the song that plays in the background of one of them. The reason she stopped is because when I was three, my father nearly killed my mother in a drunken rage and was deported. Every time I watch those videos and see my father smiling while holding me, I think of how different my life could have been. That little boy was so happy. I looked like I was enjoying life. I kind of had to. I was three. But even if I cry while watching them sometimes, thinking about how hard that little boy's life came crashing down, I also feel loved. Because there are still people out there who genuinely love me. Even if it's stupid, this song reminds me of my childhood. Little three-year old me, and all the love that kid had for his family and the world around him.
Motown music, with The Four Tops as its top ambassadors, was my gateway drug to American music as a child. It really takes me back to such sweet memories. Thank you for sharing this video.
I am a 77 years young Great-grandmother and I love this song. And another favorite of mine was "MY GIRL " ALSO anything by the "MAESTRO " Barry White, that man could make a song where he's coughing or gargling I would buy it, trust me. 😊😊😊😂😂😂❤❤❤
I want the older people to know there kids out here who still listen and know classic such as my such I started researching music art such as Four tops seems I was 11 and now I'm 13 and still love this music makes you feel emotions
_This is far beyond a great song; it is not only art, but a patrimony for humankind that extolls the beauty of the human soul and by merely listening to it, makes the same soar sublimely, ineffably._
Back in the good ol days when the folks singing this song weren’t allowed to use the same hotels and drinking fountains as their white counterparts. Ahh yes, better times.
i know and now we have self inflicted segregated black schools in the name of “keeping things black for heritage” but that’s ok right? yeah thought so.
These songs bring back great memories of me spending time with family that now passed away. These songs bring them to me especially when i cant remember anymore. Music is the cure for brain fog/ The mentor.
This is one of those songs that it doesn't matter who or where you are from. It's so iconic that you could never escape it. Even at a grocery store. The movies. Commercials. And i guess radio. It's timeless.
#THEFOURTOPS #ULTIMATECOLLECTION #LeviStubbs had one of the greatest singing voices in the history of music. He was one of the superstars at #MotownRecords. The Four Tops were just one of many fantastic groups at the company. Levi was a bad ass motherf**k*r. The man could sing #OUTSTANDING 😀👍👍👍👍🎸🎹🥁🎺🎷🪘💜💖❤️💛
Growing up we had one of those singing fish on the wall and it would sing this and being 3 years old and Danish I didn't understand the words being said but I loved it and memorized the vocal sounds being made. Now that I'm 750% older I finally decided to check out the actual lyrics and it's like discovering the song again, I love it. It's almost weird suddely understanding the lyrics. I hope music like this makes a comeback.
those were happy days. Guns were not necessary. We played baseball and hide n seek in the street. I saw the 4 tops in concert, California. Now they are gone but I still think about those days. Let's make America great again by love and kindness like the old days

@@dylans.1741 I refused to let that get in the way. Duke is far more important to me as a person.
@@Frnk_3 I get that. I wish that the media was better about getting news like that out

This is my 3 year old favorite song. She knows it from beginning to end. ☺️
In 1980, myself and my first real girlfriend were driving beside the beach and this came on the radio, we turned up the volume and sang along!😊
A throwback to better times imo

@@Dobermonster you’re so right, and now history is repeating itself, and both sides are showing racist ugliness. God help this nation.

"Better times" I guess didn't include the immenent feeling of nuclear destruction.
A men in love aint got nothing on a men with 4top problems
Motown was my life in the 60’s! I just loved dancing to all the songs, especially the Supremes! Loved Diana Ross and still do!❤
One of the best feel good songs of all time.
What fabulous music we had in the sixties with musicality, lyrics and good orchestration! It is still as good today in June 2024 as sixty years ago!!
Agreed! All the music nowadays SUCKS!! 🤭😂😭👍
Today the fantastic four are confirmed and this song will be part of the soundtrack. I have no proof, but I also have no doubts.
Sorry, you're wrong. Not enough made up pronouns in this song for it to be associated with Disney.
RIP Duke, Prayers and condolences to the Fakir family and all the Legendary 4 TOPs 💔
Such a great song. RIP to Levi Stubbs, Duke Fakir, Obi Benson & Lawrence Payton
