As an irresistible force of social and cultural change, Berry Gordy's legendary Motown made its mark not just on the music industry, but society at large, with a sound that has become one of the most significant musical accomplishments and stunning success stories of the 20th century. Diana Ross & the Supremes, Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, Stevie Wonder, the Temptations, the Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson & the Jackson 5, the Marvelettes, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Lionel Richie & the Commodores, Teena Marie, their music communicated and brought together a racially divided country and segregated society, around the world, touching all people of all ages and races.

Here today, to comment on the Four Tops’ signature song because the last of them, Mr. Duke Fakir has been called home to the recording studio in the sky at the ripe old age of 88. RIP Mr. Duke, I know that concert up there must be great.
RIP Duke Fakir, 1935-2024, was the last living original member of this amazing group.
RIP, Duke Fakir
This is a perfect example of what a good song is.
Yes sir!
Should be the definition in the dictionary, honestly.
So true!!!
Best songs from my time.
Most People just don't know what good music is anymore this is the best era
This is a wonderful example of what real music sounds like. These are real musicians. I grew up not just with the Four Tops but with listening to Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Supremes, Little Richard, The Jackson 5, The Beatles, Petula Clark, LuLu, The MaCoys, The Rolling Stones, The Who. I can keep going on but I'm sure I'm boring you good people and I'm sorry.
Here after Duke Fakir’s passing. What an amazing talent and human being he was!
those were happy days. Guns were not necessary. We played baseball and hide n seek in the street. I saw the 4 tops in concert, California. Now they are gone but I still think about those days. Let's make America great again by love and kindness like the old days
Such a great song. RIP to Levi Stubbs, Duke Fakir, Obi Benson & Lawrence Payton
Not many songs you can listen to over and over but this is one a true masterpiece
💯
Agree
Maravilha 🎉🎉❤
Rip the last member may you all sing together.
R.I.P Duke, the last surviving four tops member.
When I was very little, my Grandmother made a bunch of home videos of me from the time I was born to the time I was 3 years old. This is the song that plays in the background of one of them. The reason she stopped is because when I was three, my father nearly killed my mother in a drunken rage and was deported.
Every time I watch those videos and see my father smiling while holding me, I think of how different my life could have been. That little boy was so happy. I looked like I was enjoying life. I kind of had to. I was three. But even if I cry while watching them sometimes, thinking about how hard that little boy's life came crashing down, I also feel loved. Because there are still people out there who genuinely love me. Even if it's stupid, this song reminds me of my childhood. Little three-year old me, and all the love that kid had for his family and the world around him.
that's sad
I hope you are ok now...
This is one of those songs that it doesn't matter who or where you are from. It's so iconic that you could never escape it. Even at a grocery store. The movies. Commercials. And i guess radio. It's timeless.
RIP Duke, Prayers and condolences to the Fakir family and all the Legendary 4 TOPs 💔
❤reminds me of my teenage years... And my ex husband... May he now R.I.P.. 😢💔😢
Growing up we had one of those singing fish on the wall and it would sing this and being 3 years old and Danish I didn't understand the words being said but I loved it and memorized the vocal sounds being made.
Now that I'm 750% older I finally decided to check out the actual lyrics and it's like discovering the song again, I love it. It's almost weird suddely understanding the lyrics.
I hope music like this makes a comeback.
#THEFOURTOPS #ULTIMATECOLLECTION #LeviStubbs had one of the greatest singing voices in the history of music. He was one of the superstars at #MotownRecords. The Four Tops were just one of many fantastic groups at the company. Levi was a bad ass motherf**k*r. The man could sing #OUTSTANDING 😀👍👍👍👍🎸🎹🥁🎺🎷🪘💜💖❤️💛
This is my 3 year old favorite song. She knows it from beginning to end. ☺️
Impeccable taste and at such a young age
There’s hope for the future, that in another sixty years your daughter will still be enjoying this great music and it will not be lost in the mists of time.
What fabulous music we had in the sixties with musicality, lyrics and good orchestration! It is still as good today in June 2024 as sixty years ago!!

As a 25 year old today, I don’t know how or why I grew up loving these songs but I still love them the same today as I did as a kid 🥰
Many decades ago; this was the first "our song" I shared with my first crush. I guess I was Sugarpie and she was Honeybunch.❤
Aww. That's sweet.
That's so cute☺️
Motown music, with The Four Tops as its top ambassadors, was my gateway drug to American music as a child. It really takes me back to such sweet memories. Thank you for sharing this video.

I am a 77 years young Great-grandmother and I love this song. And another favorite of mine was "MY GIRL " ALSO anything by the "MAESTRO " Barry White, that man could make a song where he's coughing or gargling I would buy it, trust me. 😊😊😊😂😂😂❤❤❤

A throwback to better times imo
Back in the good ol days when the folks singing this song weren’t allowed to use the same hotels and drinking fountains as their white counterparts. Ahh yes, better times.
@@Dobermonster you’re so right, and now history is repeating itself, and both sides are showing racist ugliness. God help this nation.
i know and now we have self inflicted segregated black schools in the name of “keeping things black for heritage” but that’s ok right? yeah thought so.
"Better times" I guess didn't include the immenent feeling of nuclear destruction.
A men in love aint got nothing on a men with 4top problems
What an amazing song!
Thanks for all the great music Duke, RIP.
This song makes me think of Valentine’s Day no matter the time of year !!!!
_This is far beyond a great song; it is not only art, but a patrimony for humankind that extolls the beauty of the human soul and by merely listening to it, makes the same soar sublimely, ineffably._
post nut clarity 👌
In 1980, myself and my first real girlfriend were driving beside the beach and this came on the radio, we turned up the volume and sang along!😊
I love these old songs so much, just makes my day brighter. ❤🙏
Fantastic then, fantastic now.
These songs bring back great memories of me spending time with family that now passed away. These songs bring them to me especially when i cant remember anymore. Music is the cure for brain fog/ The mentor.
Autocorrect, fixed, it is supposed to be dementia.
Love this song
I listen to my collection of the oldies all the time. We had the best in the 50's and 60's.
Today the fantastic four are confirmed and this song will be part of the soundtrack. I have no proof, but I also have no doubts.
Sorry, you're wrong. Not enough made up pronouns in this song for it to be associated with Disney.
Golden voices and everlasting song !!!❤❤❤❤
It sure is beautiful.
Какой вкусный САХАРНЫЙ ПИРОГ!!!
A timeless treasure.
The Four Tops was my first concert.
