Lyrics:
Look at him yearning
Desirous
His craving, his hunger
Constant needs, constant wants
Nothing will quell
Nothing will slake
Insatiable vacuous man
Hollow and see-through
His emptiness has made him frail
That dying thing still believes
Others drive the nails
Incendiary god complex
Such gift to flammable man
This is what it made of him
This is what remains
Behold, how he devours
Unappeasable and cursed
That arid soul, famished and desiccated
I am that thirst
His gluttony can not be stilled
This state can never be reversed
Hollow and empty
Endlessly

Skulle vara kul att få veta vad som fick er att göra denna videon, efter just detta konceptet. Bortsett från det uppenbara..Sanning som kommer fram.
This is one of those special music videos for which you've gotta close your eyes to see it better.
" squint your eyes to see it clearly" - Meshuggah, Rational Gaze
Songs for the deaf?
Meshuggah doesn't need music videos, they can't capture the music truly in a video, this band has been my audio drug since early 90's, hail Meshuggah 🤘!

Looking like recent Marvel’s CGI team produced this video.
The video is super cool!!

Truly one of the videos of this season
Still rhythmically genius. These dudes are the MASTERS of hypnotizing you into a riff. Constantly switching up the rhythms while still keeping those grooves.
4/4 but all those accents man! These guys are phenomenal musicians. The pied priests to djent
I have been a fan of meshuggah since 1991. The vocalist from my band was also the vocalist for the band unleashed power. When he came home from his European tour with them he handed me a cassette tape with the word Meshuggah on it. I was hooked. Still listening 30 years later!
I hope whichever kid of theirs handed this into their CGI class gets an A+.
I legit just said in my group chat ""I think they let one of their kids make it on AE for a school project"

The ending is fucking fantastic. What a great way to die.
Their crazy liveshows with the lasers definitely make for a better video representation of their music than any concrete narrative-based video could.
if only this video had a narrative
The only thing concrete about this video is the concrete it made me want to bang my head against.
Well, I suppose the crazy shows is where the budget is going...
😅😅 Concrete narrative video 😂 😂

How the hell did I miss that NMCC video?! Thanks for mentioning that!

Meshuggah is the worlds best metal band.
Just saw them live last night in Worcester - so much energy, I love this band
I was at that show too, it was freaking sick. The crowd was insane.
I have seen them at Ozzfest 2002 and it was a hypnotically brutal experience.

End of days. Perfect song. Gorgeous.
End Of Days is actually a really good song by the band Fury In The Temple. just saying
I get the feeling that the band members themselves couldn’t care less about the music video aspect of it. I’m guessing that’s more so being pushed by the label. Let’s not let the video get in the way of their decades of awesome writing and contributions to music. These guys are and always will be in a league of their own.
I wanted to say this then I remove my comment! I do not want them lose fans! they cannot do anything, it is the culture and the label is following the culture! Meshugah have to survive like any other band! They delivered the music, the rest of it is the fans responsibility.
couldN'T care less*
Haake has gone on to say he hates the videos, but honestly I don't mind them. I think it's a fun little extra.
Having listened to Meshuggah for a bit, they love to write about metaphysical concepts. The new videos are definitely different, but, change is important.

The label is linked to the very top. It's showing you subtle hints. Crazy to think it's woven it's way into everything like poison ivy.

Everytime I hear tomas my heart kicks faster he's definetly 9ne 9r my all time fav drummers to see live this fckn band is the most brutal live can't wait to see them again
I love this band…I’ll sadly miss your show at the Fillmore in Maryland, I haven’t been able to make a show in public because of my disability for some time. It’s a mental affair I have chronic ptsd from military service, so crowds I don’t do well in anymore, before like I was fine before my service. And now knowing Fredrik is back it’s even more of a reason to go as I’ve never seen you guys. It’s really sad and tragic cuz I’ve missed like 3 great bands and 2 of them have almost but dissolved from deaths or disbandment.
SO HERES TO ENJOYING THE VIBRATIONS FROM AFAR! Your music is so epic the sound waves will reach me with little issue. Thank you guys for making epic music since the year of my birth 1989 I’m about as old as this band is lol.
You should try to go to a show maybe it’ll be a strong enough experience to reprogram your brain. If not then maybe that’s karma for whatever you did/saw.
Mushrooms and ketamine man. Look into it at a minimum. The journey through ptsd is no joke, but there’s life in you yet. Follow orders.
@Ted Kaczynski if you witness someone getting brutalized and do nothing there is definitely karma attached to that.
I’m sorry to learn that your current circumstances keep your from enjoying the things you love.
There is indeed a huge proven track of new methods that help people overcome trauma. I would love to read one day that you were able to, and maybe even meet you in the crowd at a gig of theirs.
If you’re alive, everything is possible. Here’s me wishing the absolute best ✊🏽
Red Voldemort standing there menacingly was the best part
I remember seeing Meshuggah open for Tool I think in November 2002????? Was a long time ago so forgive me if that is wrong. Amazing fucking concert, little did anyone know at the time that we were witnessing or that Meshuggah would still be around kicking fucking ass. Glad to see it. Peace.

The most incredible band ever ! It's H.P. Lovecraft in music, the sound of the great old ones.
There's a label called Cryo Chamber which has released several dark ambient collaborations with the Old Ones as themes. There's real lovecraftian music.

There is a French band called The Great Old Ones. 👍👍👍
This would be nice to play at the end of the world 🔥

It's not even fair. They've set the bar so high, nobody will ever touch it. Can't believe I'm this lucky. Absolute perfection.

Interesting usage of the enter key.
Incredible song. Incredible album. One of the very best they've ever made. Thomas, my friend, dont fear. You have another 10-15 years before age takes it toll on your drumming. Right now, you are better than ever.
Wow. It's not even close to one of their best. Not even close....
@@locust7777 Opinions are subjective thoughts, not facts. I've listened to all their albums and over the years, they've only improved...both technically and cetainly, musically. This doesn't necessarily make an album better, but it does speak to an increase in skill, even if someone doesn't like the way a particular song/album sounds.
"I am that thirst" is just one more step in their evolution. Personally, I do think it is one of their better songs There are a few songs from each album that can make that claim. This is one of them, but feel free to think otherwise.
Unfortunately, over the last 35 years of listening to metal, I've found that fans of a band often get stuck in a particular era (such as old school Metallica fans thinking "Kill em' All" was their best album; LOL), and therefore, they view any departure from the sound of their favorite album as a regression, rather rhan a progession.
Sure, some bands get worse with time (not usually) and many bands have a particular record that stands out from the rest, but Meshuggah falls into no such category. Aside from their very first album (which objectively wasn't as good as future albums), every Meshuggah album has been good. Take your pick. They all have something different to offer.
Out of all the music videos this is a definitely a music video.
Whatever happened to my dudes wearing sunglasses, playing air guitar, playing air drums and screaming into a ballpoint pen in the back of an RV

Immutable is by far the best metal album of 2022
Wait what? How do you continue the story after this video!?
Definitely listen to this song more than once
I’ll follow you guys until the end of time.
It's funny how they can command a better expression of the English language than most of us and also create an artistic masterpiece while having the lyrics be so perfect.
Please, Meshusggah, fire whoever told you it was a good idea to put that alien/monster with the rubber mask in this video... immediately! Your music deserves way better than that.
