4 marriages is a choice not necessary. It is just to overcome the extra marital affairs and make it halal. If you are married and then you fall in love with someone (as it is not in anybody's hands), then in that case comparatively being an imposter and deceiver is surely worse than taking permission from your partner (which is necessary) and getting married to that 2nd person respectfully. Okay very good point brother the point of four marriages at one time. Okay so it's not that simple as it sound. In the old era when Islam was spreading there were many women who become Muslim and there spouse weren't and vise versa and in Islam husband is obliged to provide for everything's for his wife so there were many women who needed that support. In Islam if someone becomes a widow Islam incourges them to get married again so the both genders can have support of each other. Now the idea of polygamy (having more than one wife at a time) comes with a lot of rules and regulations that it's super hard to practice. For instance if you look at you 1st wife with love and affection you have to look at your other wife with same intensity of love and affection if not you will be answerable in the eyes of Allah. Same goes for spending money, time, love and everything. I as a Muslim women was shocked to study polygamy that how hard it is to keep because at every point you have to be just with all your wives. And important thing this idea is there to stop extra marital affairs as well because Islam doesn't allow having any kind of intimate relationship before marriage. Okay so it's not that simple as it sound.
In the old era when Islam was spreading there were many women who become Muslim and there spouse weren't and vise versa and in Islam husband is obliged to provide for everything's for his wife so there were many women who needed that support. In Islam if someone becomes a widow Islam incourges them to get married again so the both genders can have support of each other. Now the idea of polygamy (having more than one wife at a time) comes with a lot of rules and regulations that it's super hard to practice.
For instance if you look at you 1st wife with love and affection you have to look at your other wife with same intensity of love and affection if not you will be answerable in the eyes of Allah. Same goes for spending money, time, love and everything.
I as a Muslim women was shocked to study polygamy that how hard it is to keep because at every point you have to be just with all your wives.
And important thing this idea is there to stop extra marital affairs as well because Islam doesn't allow having any kind of intimate relationship before marriage. Hope this answers some of the misconceptions about polygamy. Thankyou

That's a different concept. You are only allowed to marry 4 women if you can give equal rights to all of them otherwise you will be held accountable if you are not doing justice between them. Also the main purpose is to marry the widows and those women who doesn't have any support in their lives. To help them, a man can marry that woman. Also, it's a fact that women are more than men in this world. If one man will marry one woman then there will be so many women who won't be able to get married and have a family. One more reason is that majority of men stay in extra marital affairs. In Islam to stay in any intimate relationship without marriage is strictly prohibited and is haram. Marriage can prevent that too..it's not as simple as it looks. For non Muslims it may sound weird that Oh, so a man will marry 4 women and he can live as he wants with them.
