Amazingly these people were all so house proud and inside their places were so neat and tidy. I like the style of the buildings, wish they could have renovated them. All they did was tear them down and buid rubbish that was falling apart.
I'm Glaswegian and proud of it, I'm 65 now and sadly in my view the City has changed to much, 😣 my Grandkids say that im just looking through rose Coloured glasses 😁 I still love my City though. ☺
Same here but, there's no denying it was a rough old city. Hopefully the bits that have changed have changed for the better but, maybe not. Most of the area I lived in was cleared to put the motorway in, who in their right mind would put a motorway through the heart of a city now. It's still home to me though. 2.44 is Polmadie Road looking towards the cleanie, isn't it.
I agree Bud, I came from the Gorbals and stayed there until I was 32 I grew up from the 1950s until the 80s I love being a Glaswegian, what you see is what you get. 😉
@@TheGrowler55 Other end of the city for me, Charing Cross. Right on the motorway and the bridge to nowhere! Moved away a long time ago but, home often to top my accent back up... It's changed massively but, the people are still the same. It's still friendlier than many places I've lived.
Love watching these old Glasgow vids in the hope my Dad pops up he never does...
Just the way I remember it. When men were made of steel and boats made of wood.
Didn't much care for the soundtrack but the images are astonishing.
such amazing photos and a real time capsule, what in the actual xxxx is going on with the music, its so ill fitted and sounds like an action movie

The music is too loud and does not compliment the images. Pity because the photos are exceptional
I turned the sound off
All good then 🏴👍

What a pity the car to the right is in shot. I would have asked the owner to move it!
Probably just a parallax error when he was framing with his Leica tbh
On a clear day in Govan you could see your furniture
In case we forget what a dirty city Glasgow was before rejuvenation of some parts of it.
