I just had this done! I come out of hospital yesterday.. I got attacked by three men so not I have titanium plates and screws! Internal fixation is the work they did and it’s absolutely crazy how good the work is that they have done ( is it normal to be really swollen ) my face feels like it’s huge
They also scraped out infection and blood clot along the left side of my chin ( apparently where nerves are ) I have lost sensation in my bottom lip does this mean it will be like that forever ? It feels like pins and needles and is very uncomfortable. They prescribed me Ibruofen and paracetamol but during opp I had morphine. As I am on Bupermorphine medication I cannot have opioids as pain relief so what’s another strong painkiller that will help me ? Thanks Sir
Sir u said if there is symphysis fracture alongwith bicondylar fracture , symphysis will be treated by closed reduction . But why? Symphysis is minimally displaced due to periosteal envelope then closed reduction should be done???
Sir how to determine the displacement of the fractured fragments in case of bilateral fracture eg. unilateral mandibular angle fracture with opposite mandibular symphysis\parasymphysis fracture?
No sir,I mean how muscle attachment determine the direction of displacement? In this clinical case what will be the direction of muscle pull and according to that what will be the displacement of that fractured fragments?
As u describe the outline of open reduction and direct fixation in this video is it same applies to mandibular angle fracture like Exposure of fracture line Fracture reduction IMF Internal fixation Release IMF check the occlusion Suturing ??
in this case, ideally canine fracture should be treated with open reduction and rigid fixation along with imf for 4 weeks to treat condylar fracture. alternately, we can do closed reduction for both fractures
@@dhanudhanushree2055 you have to write all surgical approaches to expose the mandible like 1. intraoral approaches: lower labial or buccal vestibular approach, degloving incision, incision along the external oblique ridge 2. extraoral approaches: submental approach, submandibular approach retromandibular, preauricular and its modifications, postauricular approaches 3. existing lacerations 4. intraoral approach with transbuccal fixation
I learn more through your channel compared to lecture classes
Genuinely, this is by far one of the best explanations I have heard. Thank you sir

Can use cap splints in parasymphysis bilateral fracture ?
Not usually...
Which artery causes Coleman sign sir?
It is not related to artery... It is due to blood from anterior mandible fracture diffusing through the breach in periosteum

when there are multiple fractures of mandible, atleast fractures in tooth bearing region should be fixed by open reduction...
What is the spelling of the thing that should be placed on the mandible to prevent hematoma???

@@msdentallectures7408 thank you sir
Thank you for this wonderful video sir!! One doubt sir, what do we place on the mandible to prevent hematoma? You mentioned something at the last.

When a baby fall on his chin, which is the most fracture prone area?
Sir how to determine the displacement of the fractured fragments in case of bilateral fracture eg. unilateral mandibular angle fracture with opposite mandibular symphysis\parasymphysis fracture?
with the help of clinical examination and posteroanterior view of skull or other xray techniques like opg, ct scan
