    That Merek Malik goal was after 12 or 13 tries from each team for the shoot out at the end of the game, the NYR coach at the time said he had hardly anyone left to take a shot, that's why that play is crazy.

    I'm trying to figure out how Federer returning a lob between his legs is "creative' when players like Sabatini and Noah were doing that back in the 80's.

      Cross-court winner to set up match point for a spot in the US Open finals, and it involved the two GOATs of the sport.
      I've never even heard of Sabatini, wasn't he a golfer? And Noah is more famous for his kid being in the NBA. Not sure what you're on about

    • @monteporche5552

      @@jimgray3346 No, Gabriela Sabatini was not a golfer. She was a successful singles and doubles player in the 80s and 90s, making the semifinals of the Austrailan and French open 9 times, the finals of Wimbledon once, and winning the US Open.
      Yannick Noah was also a successful tennis player in the 80's and 90's, winning multipl tournaments, including the French Open and captaining his team to a Davis Cup victory.
      Regardless of how good the players involved in THIS incident are, you can't call what Federer did a Top 10 "CREATIVE" play when there is literally a 6+ minute video of Sabatini doing it over and over again during her career.

    • @dankubus1633
      @dankubus1633 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, he didn't. I had been concerned about that, too, because if he had missed third, it would have made the jump far less impressive, even if the Cardinals had never caught it. But you can see it for yourself. At 2:02, it's possible to freeze the video with Coghlan's foot firmly on third base.

    • @danwilson635

      I posted a link to a photo from that play that shows Coghlan's foot on third base and not touching the ground. The post was removed, possibly because someone in charge of the channel didn't trust the link. The photo is convincing enough to summarily and concisely end any argument. If the moderators would not be too suspicious of even harmless links, perhaps people could actually have a conversation.

    • @danwilson635
      @danwilson635 ปีที่แล้ว

      That photo sucks and it doesn’t show anything from that angle. He was inches inside third base and the photo shows his foot above the base because that’s when the video was paused. Slow this vid to .25 speed and watch it again.

      This collection isn't so bad but I know what you mean. The play was skillful and athletic but he couldn't do it again in 1000 tries. "Luck" is a dirty word in sports. Everybody can sure enough see BAD luck when it happens, sometimes carried off on the cart -- but GOOD luck? Never happens. Skill and preparation. Instinct and reflex. Never luck.
