To all those complaining about commentary they have a new commentary engine in place but it wont be fully utilized until next year. The starting lineup overlays, pregame, and DPP commentary is running on the new engine. Last year during Madden 11 development they were working on these presentation developments for Madden 12. Great commentary, probably some of the best in sports games will be in Madden 13.
Just to clear up any confusion, the pregame, starting lineups, qb intros, and DPP commentary was developed on the new commentary engine, the play by play and name pronunciations is still from the old engine until they redo it next year, which Mike Young says they've already started doing so it will be in place for Madden 13. During Madden 11 development they did the Presentation stuff we're seeing in Madden 12, so it takes about 2 years to implement this new stuff.

@poppajules LOL these are NFL Films cameramen filming the game, using handheld cameras and everything else they use during real games. I love the camera angles and so do most people that have seen them.
@mcbann99 yeah that's a good point..i guess on the field its alright. if it had more of a Sunday Night feel I wouldn't be so critical. but from what I can tell, from 10-12 there doesn't seem to have been much change in the game. maybe 13 hopefully!

Roy Harvey the former exec producer of NCAA is now the exec producer of Madden, replacing Phil Frazier. Cam Weber former college qb is the GM of EA Football games as of this year.

Even though madden has it's issues. I would love it if they could just fix the way the players run and if the recievers and db's would fight for the ball. Glad they fixed the tackling though.
@CrepesBetterKnow There's way more variety in the team intros in Madden vs NCAA. The Saints and Patriots come out as a unit, the Ravens have Ray Lewis come out and do his dance, every team's intro is different.

There's all new tv style presentation, all new franchise mode, new superstar features, new online communities which allows you to play in groups of people up to 2000 online who play the way you want to play with sliders and penalties adjustments, so you can play with pure sim guys or what I call "cheesers".

@Dutch952123 the only reason that ed has those numbers is because hes a fs. troy normaly always has an assignment so he cant always go for the picks. and 2 more forced fumbles isnt much, especially considering the circumstances in which troy gets them, like when they played the ravens. troy is almost the deciding factor in big games, and if you were to compare the interceptions for style points, im certain that troy would win. if troy played fs than im sure he would have as many picks. troy atw
AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO NOTICED Anquan Boldin's second catch that was called incomplete by teh refs and the game (he got flipped out of bounds) was still counted in the stats that pop up? It was 4th and 9 cuz he officially didnt catch the ball, but joe flacco was still 2/2 @ that point AND anquan got the receiving yards......they better fix all these lame bugs

Next year the commentary will be a whole lot better because it will all be developed on the new commentary engine. The pregame, starting lineup, qb intros, and dynamic player performance commentary was made on the new engine, you can tell the difference in these videos.

@Dutch952123 oh and just to add this on there, troy was ranked number one as the hardest hitting safety in the nfl in power rankings. and you were wrong, troy has more tackles with 516 over 496. the only thing that ed reed has over troy is the abilty to win the jump ball. ill give him that. but how many rings does ed have? if he was a such a contributer you would think he would have one. not only that, ever since 08, the steelers are 32-9 with troy in the game
@adegun10 You all just traded for Lee Evans. That's a good pickup. He's one of my favorite WRs. His numbers aren't what their supposed to be because he played for the Bills.

@jasonproductions1 It's not like Ed Reed doesn't come up and make big plays he just doesn't make it so dramatic. He doesn't need to jump over people, he sacks the qb by going through the o-line like a man. Any db can jump over the line when a team is backed up on their own 1. And how come when teams are on the steelers 1 yard line troy doesn't do anyhing but get laid out. Ed Reed has 3 106 yard plus interception returns for td's that's how a safeties are supposed to play.

For the most part its a new team of developers now and these are sim football guys, that's what they are focusing on now is to make this game look and play as close to the real thing. No more yearly gimmicks, just real features that matter. Madden 12 is lightyears ahead of Madden 11.

@jasonproductions1 safeties are supposed to play a certain way, they're supposed to not get burnt and help in coverage by deflecting passes and getting interceptions, good safeties will also come up and stop the run if told to do so so or if they are just instinctive. Ed Reed is one of the best safeties of all time and is great at all of these things. Troy Polamalu on the other hand barely gets half the int. and has about 15 more tackles though Ed reed has had injuries and plays fs not ss
@Dutch952123 your obviously the only person that thinks that because if you didnt know, he won the defensive player of the year award. its not always about numbers. polomalu is a playmaker, hes clutch and hes the smartest safety in the league. not to mention he's a fuckin ball hawk and quick as fuck. and good safetys dont get burned, especially not troy. i can think of maybe one time he got tangled on a cross route that gave up a td but thats it. he's the best safety in the league hands down.

I love the entire Mendenhall sequence, the gameplay, commentary, crowd, it all comes together great there.

i think if the last madden i bought was 08 and then i bought 12 i would LOVEE THIS but buying every years one i fail to see the diffrences
