Can't thank you enough for this detailed information. I just confused between these two and Tapo C210(2K) but it seems Imou Ranger 2 is just fine for me also it's the cheapest
In 8:01, u mentioned scrubbing through the timeline is difficult. Can u pinch to zoom on the timeline? And has it been fixed? And have u tried using VLC to view the videos from the SD card on the PC? I've seen other ppl on YT who can do so.
It's a good camera, my only issue is that its swivel is quite slow. It easily loses track of a person walking out of the frame because it doesn't manage to keep up.

So far IMOU has worked well because I am just using it to keep an eye on my puppy. For $40 USD I think it works great. What do you use for the outdoors? I see a lot of Solar Power ones but I am very weary of using them because of power/battery lasting during the night or days when it rain ect...
The UK and solar probably don't mix well bullet series work well as I'm only concern about specific area

Interesting video - 1st of yours I've watched. We have a Tapo C200 and I can't access it any more (long story) so would be interested in a comparison between this Imou 4mp & a Tapo C210? Any thoughts? TIA.
Can't really compare without having tapo in hand. So you will have to lean on the conclusion from the video I'm afraid
Howdy from Hot Houston Texas, USA... I like your review of the camera. I have a new puppy and wanted to keep track of her while I am at school (I am a teacher) . I have a Ring doorbell camera while I like it is expensive. So I have ordered the imou.2k for $40.00 usd based off the review. Like I said I like my Ring but their products are expensive and for me looking for a indoor camera so I can watch over my puppy. Have you tried their other products? Are there other products that work just as well atvthe Ring you recommend?

I don't have pets to test the cameras on sadly so it's an uncharted territory for me. Having said that product by imou were always consistent in quality and I can't find much to complain. If you don't need tracking for pets then I'd say you'll be happy.
Can 2 cameras (located in 2 different cities) fall under 1 single subscription? (I heard 1 subscription covers 4 devices? Or does it need to be 4 in a single location??).... And will the camera reboot by itself, if there is a Power Outage (like if I'm still... far away on holiday, and I can - not - reboot it, at the camera location? thanks!!
I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. Each camera is set up independantly, so you have to provide the WIFI credentials to set them up - then in the app - they are all linked through the IMOU cloud.
Sir can you clear doubt about. If it is detect and track motion or person. After when person go out of frame then will it come back to original fixed angle. Which we originally fixed cover that area.
This is the most question going on my head .

When track is lost camera returns to the fixed position before the track. It will take a moment before the position is reverted as camera is hoping to get the object back in the frame

I like the colour night mode on imou cameras but I haven't tried the Xiaomi so I can't give you a fair opinion

The issue with security cameras is that there are so many to choose from.. Like my battery operated tools I have one brand because I didn't want to have different batteries and chargers ect and it's the same with these cameras. I would like to just stay with one brand maybe 2..I mean I get it, I have a Ring doorbell and works great and they do have other products but the issue is there might be one brand has a better indoor camera, and another 360 camera, or outdoors camera ect. I just don't want to have 10 different cameras and apps for them. Not sure if I am making myself clear.... Is there a brand you like?
That's fair. Imou do support NVR so you could bring the feed your custom NVR, but I know what you mean by not using 10 different apps to monitor your stuff

Did you try live streaming?? Mine breaks now and then though the WiFi network is shown as strong. Should I try with SD card ??
I used the RSTP to get the content. I had no issues with the stram from the camera. You shouldn't need a sd card for that either

usually just a feature set, ranger series feature indoor PT cameras, with different spec offering extra options like LAN connectivity, built in lights etc

I like odd. Plus my purple and blue lights are out of commission for a bit so I can't commit to the typical "TH-cam standards" right now 😜😜😜
I bought this 2 mp one recently, there is a little shaking of body, i mean the base and other part ,is that normal ?
Shaking when moving the camera around? It has no image stabilization so a bit of that will be present. Try holding your base while rotating. If this stabilises the image on the move use a bit if 3M tape to reduce it

No once moved to position it should be steady still and silent

These cameras, has a big problem with cracking sound in the background. I changed 2 cameras and the problem persists…
Even when there is no sound in the vicinity of the camera? Sounds like electrostatic interference - anything nearby that could cause it?

It will record without WiFi. You will need to use AP mode on your phone to connect and preview or take the card with you

You have to be very precise. I tried pinching out on the timeline to the side. It works

I bought 2 IMOU cameras for the first and last time.
They make updates every 2 weeks.
Until the moment they installed me for the last time without allowing them the last update.
Now the sd card doesn't work anymore, it asks me to format it every time I log in and any notification pops up.
Although I wrote to them about the problem, I did not receive any reply.
The camera is still good, but it's annoying and I gave up on it, the outdoor one.
They update until the moment you can't use SD card anymore because they shove their paid online storage area down your throat.
And so you can't download any recording from the card to the phone.
Better in terms of price, quality and many options are those from Xiaomi.
That's a very peculiar issue. I assume you have tried another SD card? Problems like this indicate that the card has bad sectors so format masks the issue and it won't re_surface until camera writes the data on it. Then you get the issue again about it.
How big is your card?
