just listened again for the 10,00th and 1st time. still just as good as the very first time. you can't put a price on nostalgia, but you CAN rearrange it with metal guitar xD
I remember years and years ago browsing random DoD months and finding the original Unsealed. The one DoD song I came back to over and over again, and now even better!
I've randomly remembered Unsealed at various times after first hearing it back in 2005, and yet somehow I only discovered this updated one in the last week! Needless to say, it's had a heap of airtime already.
I come back to watch this every year or so, and I tear up. The power of memory, the wistful thought of when you felt the Hero, that feeling that you could save the world. I am old now. There is so much I am disappointed with, so much I haven't lived up to. This song reminds me that once, in the tiny world I lived in, I would save the girl, I would defeat the Bad Guy, that I was a part of something grand.
@@HarleySB no way man! I too have aged but when you yield to the world, you surrender that wonder! I can still be the change in the world and so can you! We must be strong!
My brother, my sisters and I spent a large portion of our childhoods playing The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past and, as such, the music from that game is ingrained in our collective sub-conscious. Christophe, this video is a masterpiece. Thank you for bringing back so many great memories of this game for me with your kick-ass rock version of the score.
Aww I had an amazing time playing the game in my childhood too and I'm so happy to see that my song helped you going back there together with my silly footage. Thanks for your kind words, and you're very welcome for the music ! :)
The most EPIC metal medley on TH-cam! Underrated! This should be 1m views... This is very emotional, nice transitions from peaceful tracks to epic powerful tracks!
Thank you so much! Haha it somehow stayed hidden over the last years, but that's also pretty cool in itself, it's like you guys who enjoy it share a secret. Well not that it's bad if you talk about it either of course :D
I remember listening to this back when i was a kid on groove shark and could never find it again. Years later and church is still the absolute banger i remembered it as. Thank you Carbo.
I'm not sure why I never commented on this before, but this medley is pretty much what inspired me to start making my own VGM covers 4 years ago. Everything from the arrangement, to the mix, to your playing just screams passion. You're really an inspiration man. Thank you.
I'm very happy that you were so moved by it! As an artist, getting your feelings to be communicated across your work and acknowledged is probably the best reward ever! Thank you so much for your message and sorry for replying so late! I wish you the best for your own projects!
You'd think a song would get repetitive after 20 minutes. You haven't seen Carbo if you think that. Masterpiece. I have no other words to say. Just... wow. One of the greatest remixes I ever heard in my life.
This may be weird ... but I listened the crap out of the version I downloaded from your website a long time ago, and even though this version is great, my mind is already used to the other one. Nothing, not even you, can beat that one (lol). No, but seriously, you did a great job on the whole arrangement no matter which version :D ❤️❤️❤️ (EDIT: 17:16 always makes me cry)
Thanks ! I totally understand your standpoint, the 2005 version has a very different approach overall, so both versions have their own value. And the part at 17:16 has always felt very cathartic to me, I'm glad that other people feel something there :)
No, thank you so much! I've listened to the former version of your medley countless times, and I didn't think I could listen to a version better. Then this comes along, with synced visuals, and an added part. Amazing. Thank you so much!
I am so glad I binge watched some Extra Credits episode until I realized their intro song was a remix by you, and then discovered this absolutely heavenly remix! It wakes me up in the morning and keeps me motivated in the afternoon. THANK YOU, Christophe! You are my hero.
wow...just fantastic. At first, when I saw the length I figured there's no way I'll listen to the entire 20 minutes. When it was done, I felt like only 4 minutes had passed and that I could listen to more. So, 30 minutes after listening to the entire medley, I listened to it again :)
Thank you so much ! It really shows how you enjoyed it ! It's pretty hard to keep interest going in such a long piece indeed, especially when the original goal was to keep it as energetic as possible ! The 2005 version was in my opinion a bit more tiring. Here, I hope that the video footage from the game helps to go through the whole song for people who wouldn't for audio-only material.
I never get tired of listening to this medley . It's really good!! I really love your guitar arrangements for ALTTP music, and how you chain one song into another. Congratulations, I think is the best Zelda medley or cover I've ever and will hear.
:) This medley has alway been one of my favorite things that you made, and seeing it with the game just makes it so much more epic. It really makes me appreciate it more. Keep up the absolutely fantastic work. :)
God this is amazing. In all the years I've used and saw you, this makes me the happiest. Keep up the great work. This is an amazing remake of the first unleashed.
This is absolutely the best cover of any and all songs in one of my favorite games of all time (especially the Kakariko Village part). It would've been so cool if you mixed in the flute melody with the village part!
Thank you so much ! Although I mixed in vocals and keys in parts of the song, I was unlikely to go for winds, since I wanted to keep the style of the song within the boundaries of a small band lineup. But yeah some flute would have sounded good. Or trumpet too, as that part has some ska in it too :)
No freaking way I found you! I used to listen to this and gusty garden on repeat in middle school which is hard to believe that was more than a decade ago. I remember finding your music through ocremix and was so stoked when this came out. Your music meant so much to me in my formative years and so grateful you shared your music with the world. Thank you :,)
This is perfection. All the great soundtracks of this wonderful game the arrangements simply perfect i loved so much. To remember the first Zelda game i ever finished.
I recently switched phones and forgot to port over my downloaded music so I had to stream it off TH-cam during a long commute. The entire drive I was so confused because I could swear I remembered it differently. Once I got to work and checked the description to find out there is a "new" 2014 version?! Well done! Unsealed has been a well loved road trip staple for me for a long time and it really helps me power through those last few hours of a trip.
Thank you! I admit I sometimes rely on Unsealed 2014 to pass the time during long trips, it's basically like playing ALTTP in my mind 3 times for an hour. As for remaking it, I can't say I'd do that for every song where I feel like I produced it "too early for the skills I have", but this one I definitely needed to. Glad you could have the surprise!
LttP is probably my all time favorite game. It was the game that made me fall in love with Legend of Zelda, as well as adventure games in general. Its music always stuck with me, especially the Dark Overworld and the Palace. The first time I heard this masterpiece was on a Critical Role stream. I sat absolutely rapt and teary eyed until the very end. I immediately went looking for it, and found OCRemix (which opened a whole new floodgate of music to me). Why it took me so long to actually get to your yt channel, I have no idea. But, now that I'm here, I want you to know how deeply your work moved me. You've done an insurmountable service to the game as well as to me. Thank you so very much.
Welcome to my channel, and thanks for searching, and leaving this message ! I know that it's easy to just listen to a song once you've secured a source where you can do it at will, without having to look for its background, so I really appreciate that you did ! ALTTP was also one of the most influential games in my life, and because of that I'm even happier to see that Unsealed got to you on an emotional level. It really feels like my efforts to express my gushing love for the game and its soundtrack were acknowledged !
This album was my favorite to play over on guitar all the way through. Grew up and haven't played as much but when i do pick up my guitar this album is always my warmup. The way the two goddess appears song blend together really is beautiful. Precious earth is such a great build up and leaves me feeling really accomplished. I've never even played this game but found out about the album from someone at magfest when it first came out. Great comp 10/10
Oh thanks! This is awesome! I've been thinking for a while that I could publish it on my arrangement repository as well, along with the backing track (that does exist) like most of my usual covers. It could be useful to other musicians in one way or another.
I have said it once and I'll say it again: this is easily one of the greatest VGM medleys I have ever heard. Christophe, I having been playing A Link Between Worlds lately and I feel that whenever I get the chance to play this classic Zelda game, I will love it just as much. It has easily my favorite soundtrack for a 2D Zelda game and one of the best soundtracks for the SNES. Keep up the great work and I look forward to future covers.
Amazing work! Your renditions of the Death Mountain Dark World, Hyrule Castle, and the Ganon fight themes may be my favorite remixes of my three favorite pieces of music from this game! You even managed to make fairy fountains and Kakariko Village sound hardcore! Huge props for that!
Just bought this magnificent album from your Loudr account. This has to be one of the best LoZ covers I've ever heard. Not only does it capture the wonder that LoZ made us feel it has a raw energy that not even the original could live upto! (I mean that in the nicest possible way flamers). Keep up the fantastic work! Now to check out the rest of your videos :)
Originally never played alttp on first listen... reporting back after 100%ing it. Thank you so much for inspiring me to play a legendary game with this. 🤘
Damn I wish I could experience what you did! Knowing ALTTP's music thanks to a chronologically-accurate arrangement and only then playing the game. Reversed nostalgia! I'm so glad I could inspire you to play it!
I used to comment on soundcloud but i forgot my ID and PW, but here i am, my yearly passage to nostalgia ! I loved it the, love it now, will love it till the day i die. It encapsule my childhood, and will forever be the anthem of it.
@@CarboHydroMusic hecking yea - i wasnt expecting to be known but i guess that happens in VGM world - its a travesty i didnt know about this work 7 years ago
@@CUBOSH Aha my bad for being poor at getting my stuff more widely known too. I've known about your work mostly after hearing songs that also featured Grant Henry. I was lucky to be there when you guys performed together at MAG as the Lonelyrollingstars.
The soundtrack for Link's Awakening is really dynamic with tense and mellow songs, and I think it would make an amazing "musical play-through" just in case you're taking suggestions :D
Hehe thanks, I can understand wanting to hear that for all the games we love, and Link's Awakening has indeed a great soundtrack, but I don't think I'll be doing that again anytime soon. It was a huge undertaking, spanning over several months, and ALTTP is that special to me :). Now I can move on !
Of course dude! Hey, amazing work on this medley, and I really love your MegaMan stuff too! You have some really great music on this channel, and I can't wait for more :D
GuitarGeek25 Thanks a lot for your support man ! :) I already have a few other songs in the works, and one very close to being finished. Plus, as soon as I get the artwork for them, some original songs should show up as well !
"Precious Earth" is the credits theme of the game, that also falls back on the classic Legend of Zelda main theme during its second part, so I did the same here. I arranged its start so that it feels cathartic after the Ganon battle theme. The finale on the other hand is a bit extended because for such a long song I wanted it to be as satisfying as possible.
Yo dude i've been following your music for a long time now and i gotta say this is super super dope compared to the original (which i loved to bits). Keep up the sick work
Out of all the covers and remixes of the various songs from the entire Zelda series, this has to be my favourite. Amazing work, man (I say "man" a lot at the end of most my sentences so don't get offended). Keep up the good work and maybe try covering other series.
This game was really weird for me being born after it released in 1993 but I admit I did play it but I was more into the child timeline of Zelda meaning OOT, MM, and TP but I must admit I played the downfall games as a kid and this and links awakening were my favorite Zelda always has such a great soundtrack it always captures the essence of what the games atmosphere or the mood it's trying to set and you did a great job recreating that here with this good job keep up the good work!
Thanks a lot for your kind words ! I think I stayed in the same mindset as before, back when no canon information had been released about the series chronology, and I used to enjoy each game as a new way to tell a legend over the ages. But I definitely understand how you must have had a different feeling about the games. It has to be very interesting to dig into the history of the series !
Your 2005 medley version was good but i like this one better. Its similar yet different in a positive way! +1 to ya i also love how 3/4rth of the video is about you crashing into walls using the boots. this game in a real pita untill u get those boot :D
+Alexander Lord Thanks a lot ! :) In 2005 I had to rush a bit to finish it so a few spots needed to be fixed or improved, and I tried my best to do that in this version. Haha yes the boots are the definite must-have of the game, and I always spend a great deal of time fixing my trajectories by hitting walls ! :D
+dcsalvador Haha I'd be happy to do it, believe me ! This next MAGFest it's too late for band registration, but I'm bringing a guitar with me so that I can jam with people whenever I can !
Epic dude, listenend to this so many times while playing Heroes of might and magic III with my friends, or SSBM. Nice to see a video with it :D You got anything else in the works at the moment? :D
Thanks my friend, as always ! :) I'm glad you enjoyed it through and through. Yeah I've got a few songs in the works, and one almost finished - from a pretty obscure SNES game. But I won't tell which yet ! :p
Thanks for your kind words! Overworld is basically The Legend of Zelda's main theme, which I have already arranged plenty of times. If you you're interested in hearing an alternate/longer version of it, you could check out "Sword of Hope" (which also covers the first Zelda game's underworld theme).
Dude this song is epic throughout and love every single part... You know what would be a cool idea is doing a rip of each part so people can enjoy just their favorite parts... What do you think?
BGR001 The significance would be that it would make the files smaller so that people can share them much more easily therefore expanding your listening audience by allowing them to listen to a part of it and then telling them that it is part of a bigger, MORE EPIC MASTERPIECE... =)
BGR001 I never thought about the fact that it would be easier to share with smaller cuts, that's a good suggestion, I will think about it ! And thanks for your support ! :)
***** Ab out 4 months ago i tried downloading a rom, unfortunately my anti virus progam started going berserk, and since then I haven't tried finding a non-virus infected rom hack.
Good picks ! The one at 8:08 is the one that I first got inspiration for. That's really when I felt that a lot of Zelda music would feel good in this style.
Was digging through some old files today, found the 2005 version of this , and now I find you did an even better version! Is there anywhere I could download this in FLAC? Thank you for the music and I hope you are doing well.
Thank you! I've been all right, even though I don't release stuff often I'm still there! Feel free to hit me up over email and I'll see what I can do if you're still interested.
I said it before and I'll say it again. THIS is the greatest video game cover of all time! Out of curiosity, how many different versions of this do you have? The old one you had up in 2011 ( I think) was faster. 2 different versions total?
Thanks ! I'm delighted to see it's ranked so high in your book :) There are indeed 2 versions of it now. This one here, that was released in album form in 2014, and the older, rawer and "punkier" version that I released to begin with in 2005 and uploaded here on TH-cam only a few years later. So there are actually 9 years of gap between the two.
Your medley has become just as nostalgic as the music itself. Hope you are doing well 16 years later.
Still live and kicking! Thanks for inquiring and your kind comment!
just listened again for the 10,00th and 1st time.
still just as good as the very first time. you can't put a price on nostalgia, but you CAN rearrange it with metal guitar xD

Thanks Eric ! Yeah you definitely need to play this legendary game at least once ! In its time it achieved near-perfection on all aspects.
Thanks a lot ! :) Yeah the transformations are pretty radical in there, I'm very glad you appreciated them !
What a great way to relive old memories! Thank you, I felt like a boy again.
My pleasure! I'm so happy that my work could help you feel like this!
Undoubtedly the best remix for arguably one of the best soundtracks in gaming - great job man!
That's the best compliment, sir ! Thank you so much !
Big talent, big work, and big pleasure, for the best videogame ever !
Thank you #CarboHydroMusic
You're very welcome, It IS my pleasure sir ! :)
Oh thank you so much for your patronage sir, and also for that great compliment ! I hope you enjoy the other stuff I have here just the same ! :)
13:15 Still gets me pumped up
Hell yeah !!
Holy shit! New and improved version! Amazing all around, but that bass and organ in the Dark World Dungeon theme... so subtle yet so powerful. Kudos!
Thanks ! I take it you were familiar with the old version ? I'm glad you enjoyed the improvements here !
+CarboHydroMusic indeed, I play the old version every once in a while, now I'm gonna have to update my car's USB drive with this one. Keep it up!
Awesome, happy listening then ! :)
I'm so glad I could inspire you to play it!
i absolutely friggin love this track, its simply amazing
godlike job dude!
It was a lot of work, but I'm still so glad I did it to this day! Thank you so much man!
That was AWESOME! Great job!
Thanks a lot ! :)
I love this arrangement so much great job.
Ah that's my special one, thank you :)
This is truly amazing, please keep up the awesome work!
Will do ! And thanks again ! :)
I used to comment on soundcloud but i forgot my ID and PW, but here i am, my yearly passage to nostalgia !
I loved it the, love it now, will love it till the day i die. It encapsule my childhood, and will forever be the anthem of it.
this has such a clear attitude vision for vg cover and that's what makes it so well executed
Oh if it isn't Chris Dlugosz himself! Thank you so much for dropping by, sir!
@@CarboHydroMusic oh right on. grant is a legend. one of the best dudes i know.
@@CUBOSH He is. Found his work back in 2004 and always enjoyed his releases!
Plus, as soon as I get the artwork for them, some original songs should show up as well !
so good man! great job
Thanks for you support as always ! :)
...and things like this are the reason why I occasionally browse music channels on discord servers
Oh my fucking god yes, dude. I remember jamming to the original a few years ago all the time. 11/10
Awesome ! Glad to see that you love this version too ! :)
In Precious Earth... that theme feels so familiar. Can you tell me what it is? I've figured out most of the other themes, but this one eludes me.
"Precious Earth" is the credits theme of the game, that also falls back on the classic Legend of Zelda main theme during its second part, so I did the same here. I arranged its start so that it feels cathartic after the Ganon battle theme. The finale on the other hand is a bit extended because for such a long song I wanted it to be as satisfying as possible.
fantastic tune! We gave it a spin at our new years party:)
Ho ho great honor you did me there, thanks my friend ! :)
My pleasure, and it helped that everybody at the party were metalheads and ALTTP fans;)
Haha indeed that was the perfect fit then ! :D
Yo dude i've been following your music for a long time now and i gotta say this is super super dope compared to the original (which i loved to bits). Keep up the sick work
Hey thanks a lot for your kind words ! And delighted to hear that you enjoyed this new version as much as the old one. I'll keep doing my best !
CarboHydroM me your arrangements for electric best of its kind. Of all the heavy music album of your best friends and melodic. Thank you very much.
You're welcome and thanks a lot for your kind words ! :)
Sounds awesome!
Thanks ! :)
Probably the best video game cover ever made.
+Eclipson Thank you so much !
Listened all the way to the end entire song is FIRE
This is the first thing I wanted to listen to after ALttP is announced for Nintendo Switch Online
Thanks ! That's indeed a cool way to revisit the game, before playing it for good !
Great arrange!
It sends a shiver up my body. :)
Aha that's the power of music for you ! And thanks, as always ! :)
Out of all the covers and remixes of the various songs from the entire Zelda series, this has to be my favourite. Amazing work, man (I say "man" a lot at the end of most my sentences so don't get offended). Keep up the good work and maybe try covering other series.
I'm not offended at all ! Thanks a lot, I'm happy that you could enjoy my version that much. Cheers !
This game was really weird for me being born after it released in 1993 but I admit I did play it but I was more into the child timeline of Zelda meaning OOT, MM, and TP but I must admit I played the downfall games as a kid and this and links awakening were my favorite
Zelda always has such a great soundtrack it always captures the essence of what the games atmosphere or the mood it's trying to set and you did a great job recreating that here with this good job keep up the good work!
+1 to ya
i also love how 3/4rth of the video is about you crashing into walls using the boots. this game in a real pita untill u get those boot :D
seriously, please get a band together and play at the next magfest. I would literally die from joy.
+dcsalvador Haha I'd be happy to do it, believe me ! This next MAGFest it's too late for band registration, but I'm bringing a guitar with me so that I can jam with people whenever I can !
There will not, nor cannot be, a better interpretation of these songs. Way to fuckin' go, man. Way to go. So fucking good.
Thank you so much!!
09:17 I get chills every time 😍
Thank you! One of my very favorite parts of the arrangement because of the sheer kick it has energy-wise :)
Cool as ever I listen it ^^...
Thank you so much !
CarboHydroMusic Xi faints and rest in peace after fangirl scream...
oOps XD
I come back here every while
Thanks for dropping by for a listen!
Sweet :) I look forward to it! Have a great New Year and keep up the good work :D
Thanks, I will for sure ! And happy new year to you as well ! :)
It's hard to believe you were able to improve on the original- but hot damn!
You mean the 2005 version ? Haha yeah this one is different, I think they still have their own strengths that the other doesn't have.
sooooo good!
Thanks ! :)
Wow. Got no other words.
Thanks ! :)
Please make a longer version of Overworld, it's toooooo fucking epic!
Thanks for your kind words! Overworld is basically The Legend of Zelda's main theme, which I have already arranged plenty of times. If you you're interested in hearing an alternate/longer version of it, you could check out "Sword of Hope" (which also covers the first Zelda game's underworld theme).
@@CarboHydroMusic I like the fast version here, I did look around on TH-cam but they're not the same like this one.
Throwback
very awesome
Thanks !
Listening to this while I play link to the past
Uuuuh this is pretty fuckin' cool :O Now i can see where all this music is from without researching it myself! Thanks for sharing mate
Hey thanks Erik, but don't let it keep you from playing the game okay ? ;)
***** Ab out 4 months ago i tried downloading a rom, unfortunately my anti virus progam started going berserk, and since then I haven't tried finding a non-virus infected rom hack.
Oh I see ! Well let me know if I can help, you can hit me over email so that I send you mine. Hopefully it won't trigger any AV stuff :D
That would be awesome :O
8:08 best part 13:15 second best
Good picks ! The one at 8:08 is the one that I first got inspiration for. That's really when I felt that a lot of Zelda music would feel good in this style.
Cool and i will say that all of them are really good nice work ;)
Thanks ! Every other song joined in naturally as soon as I decided to do a long medley, but yeah, Hyrule Castle's remains the special one :)
Well it's time to break out the spatula so I can scrape my brain off the ceiling again.
That's "Mind blown" to those who don't get it (I.e. me)
Please forgive me for doing that to you. But I actually enjoy it !
(Thanks ;))
15:02 Best part 🦁🙏👍❤️
17:00
DAT MOMENT !
CarboHydroMusic just playing along. put the stamp to make it easier
I can't get over the rawer and punkier version :)
Hehe it does have a different feel to it ! Both versions will always be available.
Nice!
Grazie !
My childhood.
You and me both ! :)
I subbed at Dwelling of Heroes(Gunstar Heroes), but was inspired by Precious Earth.
Thanks ! Precious Earth is definitely my favorite part of Unsealed, its beginning sends shivers down my spine !
This is up there with Virt's Super Metroid Crystal Flash. NEEDS MORE VIEWS!
Thanks ! I love Virt's mega-medley, he inspired me to play the game back then !
