      that's what Wayne/Kanye/Eminem/Jeezy era. Flagrant fake shit was winning. He really started getting a pass when he begged/paid for Jay-Z/Nas cosigns. He branded himself as a Cuban-Linx hustler of the Miami variety, got the right features and then so-called hip hop heads stopped asking.

      @@skankhunt-yt2mo Heard the song. The beat was alright but the song is better than the "diss" if anything - it's just Future and Rocky rapping about women, nothing particularly interesting in the grand scheme of this "rap beef".
      Future mid as usual, Rocky was a bit better but still extremely washed compared to a decade ago. Bars are extremely corny "flacko hit it first son", "they call me flacko jodye but i'm him". Again due to the shallow subject matter, there's not much he could have done here. The theme of the diss is to make a song embarrassing another rapper because you fucked their girl first. It's an overplayed trope at this point. Diversify the subject matter - at least Kendrick (despite being wack) went at Drake by claiming his best album was still "weak" (which is true), the Prince outlived Michael Jackson lines generated some conversation, and claimed he would bury Drake near the end of the track using a metaphor based on his last album release. Also Kendrick claiming he prefers respect to money and power (something Drake wants). So thematically he had something going, even though he's obviously nowhere near the greats in terms of actual delivery and hard-hitting bars.
      The only memorable part for me in the Rocky diss was: "fuck on her tongue, but really I just hit a lick" that was an okay bar because it was a double entendre. He got the blowjob, but also robbed her sanity at the same time.
      Other than the rest of the lyrics were just standard / weak. Unless otherwise pointed out.

      @@tochiRTA you're right about how stupid it was for Ross to say "I let Drake get on my song."
      Nah you needed that Drake stimulus package.
      He needed Drake, Jay z, and Diddy to survive.
      He also needed start beef with 50 Cent out of no where. Ross himself couldn't even take 50 on by himself. He got help from 50' enemies at the time. Fat Joe, Ja Rule, Game. I think for a second Ross thought he was gonna lose that.
      Ross' music career was about die. When Drake vs Meek was going on Ross didn't do any Drake collabs. His albums sales weren't what they used to be. Once Drake and Meek squashed their issues. Money in the Grave comes out. Drake carrying Rick Ross on his back for the 20th time.
      I know his songs don't bump because I've seen dj's put BMF on and they change song either during or after the first verse.
      Honestly all these diss tracks are mid at best. Drake had the best one. It wasn't anything crazy. Kendrick's shit weak, his delivery ruined that song. Not surpriseing because he normally ruins anything he touches. J Cole sounded timid on his own song. Drake had the best beat. Bars were okay. Had a couple good lines. @tochiRTA  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      🥱dude could've said "I write crack" and get on with it. The word that fucks up that bar is "exhaust." Look up the definition of 'exhaust' on Google. You picture 'car/bike/engine' but there's no engine involved. And even if you decide that 'exhaust' will take the place of "gas", Ross is pointlessly double-beating. "Crack smoke from the gas of my pen and pad". Since "smoke" and "gas" are synonyms, he's basically saying "crack smoke from the smoke of my pen and pad." Do you not see how sloppy, boring and f*cking cliche the writing is? My man, I'm a university graduate. These raps aren't flying over my head - they're too stupid for me to really engage with them.

      b
      : to empty by drawing off the contents
      “Crack smoke is the exhaust from my pen and pad”

He’s too boring and there’s no maturity in his pen, even at his current age. Drake doesn’t sound the same as he first started. Even though Drake was kinda scatterbrained with his diss, there was still some charisma. I laugh at the metro line, and it’s almost like he’s mocking Kendrick and did kinda say stuff about Kendrick as a rapper. Ross’s record label Maybach Music Group has had several successful artists thrive in the rap scene such as Meek Mill, French Montana, Wale, and more yet Drake has not seen the same amount of success as a record label owner for his OVO label.
    Ross is trying not to laugh at how Drake is chart obsessed, which greatly benefits the mega record label UMG who signed Drake for $500 million in 2022, but not prioritizing his own label’s success. In other words, Drake would rather be a “worker” for UMG than a successful boss for his record label OVO like Ross.
    So basically Ross saying here that he's a boss and Drake is a worker with the record label success comparison.

    Tochi, u trippin. The beat is hard. And this diss is f*cking brilliant!!! I dig that the track doesn't resonate with you, cool. But you can't dismiss a piece of art's theme (beat - melody) yet still try to judge its value solely on the means (lyrics - flow) by which the theme is conveyed. You have to judge a piece of art's value solely on its face with no outside considerations, because that's how an artist is supposed to create. Or their shit will be "copy-paste" RIGHT??? Ross' flow and tone perfectly matched the ominous, ruthless, mafioso soundtrack. And the lyrics and style conveyed the theme perfectly as well. This is actually superior to "Mafia Music" although I like that beat better than this one. Drake is fake as hell in the sense of his personality and character. He doesn't talk like he raps and that's always a HUGE glaring vulnerability of his. And now on his decline Ross RUTHLESSLY treats him like what EVERYONE always saw him to be but gave him a pass for. A good actor from Toronto who knew how to rap as good as he could suppress his accent in order to fit in where he never belonged...Ross takes the lead.

      Totally disagree. But to each his/her own. What I'm surprised by is that you're accusing Drake of being 'fake as hell' yet letting Donnie Brasco peddle (trash) bars. @@tochiRTA You hate on Ross but Drake is worse. Drake's whole career was an acting job. People don't like Drake because he's fake as f^ck. He talks white. He acts white. His persona isn't the way he raps in his songs. Ross was really in the dope game as a C-O, smuggling drugs. This has been confirmed numerous times. He should've made things right with Freeway Ricky, but I can't really hold him to that. That has nothing to do with hip hop. Drake makes great songs and can rap very well but he ain't authentic. That lame muthaf^cka has always known why no one has truly like him. BECAUSE HE AIN'T TRUE. That fool don't do interviews because the swag in the records contradicts who he really is. "That fool don't do interviews because the swag in the records contradicts who he really is. He's a good actor."
      This is what people don't realize. Both him and Rocky were "good actors" in the early 2010s. Rocky took his swag (arguably) from SGP, Yams helped the transformation. After Rocky and SGP fell out, Rocky's image changed and he became a weird feminine fashionista and eventually fell off.
      Then that early Rocky influenced Drake, and Drake ran off and made a huge killing off the swag aesthetic which really kicked into gear when the Pop That / No Lie songs came around circa 2012. Drake weren't no swag nigga in 2011. His whole career he been looking for other people's ideas and then popularize them due to his existing clout which he initially built by making safe R&B radio music for wine moms (I better find your lovin...) if he stayed that way he wouldn't be nowhere near as popular today, would have ended up like Trey Songz.

    • @SDC214
      @SDC214 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@user-tb9sq5po6z VERY interesting you mention the parallel with him and Trey Songz. Drake copied his whole blueprint in order to get in his lane but didn't have a classic R&B voice. It wasn't until Nickelus F showed him how to use his voice and give him the swag that he could make a "so far gone". Drake rode Nickelus F style until he got down with The Weekend & Quentin Miller. Rocky came along and he all of a sudden wanted to rep "The 6". Interestingly the 6 was really "ZONE 6" which I always thought was a little strange since he sounded nothing like a Toronto n*gga. Also later finding out he was suppressing his accent in and out of the studio. Rocky and The Weeknd both rejected his OVO offer. Guarantee they saw what we saw. A fraud. Drake is nothing but a sponge. His only real asset is his voice and his acting ability. He's clinging on everybody he can in his decline right now trying to cover up whats always been there. A FRAUD.

    • @user-tb9sq5po6z
      @user-tb9sq5po6z 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SDC214 Do you know when Rocky was offered to OVO? Pretty sure Rocky was already signed to millions with RCA before he went to Club Paradise. 14 Oct 2011 was I believe the date Rocky was signed, and then Rocky was seen interacting with Drake in November, the earliest TH-cam video I found was them backstage at Club Paradise - Drake wanted him on tour because "he was a fan of his music". Drake refers to him as a "brother" as if they have a close relationship already even though Rocky had only been in the hiphop scene for months. Rocky's record deal wasn't his choice - Yams negotiated it. If anything, Rocky would have definitely accepted being signed to OVO but the difference is he was tied to an entire collective, he wasn't supposed to really be a solo artist. Drake would have also had to sign the entire ASAP Mob as well, and Drake only cared about Rocky because he was the only one that had music out.
      That's why his deal was 1.7 million for Rocky, 1.3 million for ASAP Mob. Rocky was an "indentured artist". Basically a labour slave to ASAP to make them money. Milked Rocky's mixtape clout for years until people got pissed off he changed his style of music. I remember seeing comments from 8-9 years ago where people complained as early as 2013-14 that Rocky's music "already sucks now". Even though Long. Live. ASAP still had good songs despite not being street. Rocky had decent music integrity on Long. Live. ASAP but he didn't respect his OG fanbase which shows he was really more about the Hollywood lifestyle and fashion more than anything. Drake wouldn't have cared for him eventually and would have dumped him off the label after he stopped being street if he was signed. Drake wants people he can control, not lazy artists who care about cameras and fashion.

    I thought you completely misunderstood the point of Ross' diss track and need to rethink how you listened to it. It's not meant to be serious - rather "humorous" (which IMO which this whole rap beef in itself is) and I'm not even sure if there is real beef and Ross is proving that here. You're supposed to find this track funny. He's just making fun of Drake's white insecurities, how he's a culture vulture, how he's richer than Drake so you can't diss him over money, and keep simping for Weezy. That's it. Ross has nothing else to say. This beef isn't about him. Drake sneakdissed him so Ross just responded with this. Ross has every right to put this out. It won't move the needle but it's just more music for people to laugh at Drake for, particularly due to the white boy nosejob allegations and the ab surgery. The essence of this diss is "Drake is just a white boy actor posing as a hiphop artist and has scammed the general public". For a rapper of Ross' skill level, this is the best he could muster. A better rapper could easily outdo him with this subject matter, but nobody wanna out Drake for this type of stuff (plus there doesn't seem to BE anyone), so I have to give Ross credit. Most rappers from when Drake debuted initially are now washed, only Wayne knows the intel, and Wayne can't do shit. Kendrick doesn't even have shit. Kendrick only blew up in 2012 and was an opener to a Drake tour lmao. He ain't got shit. The only one that could diss Drake again is Pusha T.
    I'm not sure how this beef even started - initially it was about Future/Drake over a woman and Metro disputing awards and now suddenly Kendrick is in the mix. As if Kendrick has any real diss for this. He'll go missing. This is all tabloid nonsense that will hopefully blow over in the next 6 months. Don't wanna hear from either of them again.
    What I really want is an AUTHENTIC rapper to come out with a "fuck the industry" type of disstrack... but it seems the ship has sailed on that. No successful independent rapper these days.
    + Yes Ross is richer than Drake he's apparently a businessman and has investments in estate, whereas Drake is simply a musician and has Stake that's about it. His record label is more successful than OVO he signed Wale, French, Meek Mill, Omarion etc. who are obviously bigger than any OVO artist. Only known OVO artist is PartyNextDoor at this point.
    No matter what you say, Ross is a goat for this and understood the assignment - to make people laugh. Kendrick diss wasn't serious but it got overblown because people were desperate. Ross knows exactly what he did with this and is laughing his way to the bank. Fake beef and just scammed casuals again. That's why this diss track was sent to AK first and went nowhere else. Whole industry is just a TV show. This is entertainment. This is why he put a Drake excerpt near the end of the track. This is comedy. Ross should have also shot his painting nails cross dressing ass.
