    You cannot even imagine how music like this shaped us kids growing up in the 50's & 60's, Probably pretty sappy to you now days but man I loved it.

    Love this group. The Hollies are a British pop rock group formed in 1962 & known for their great harmonies. They were part of the Merseybeat scene. They had so many great songs such as "Stop, Stop, Stop", "On A Carousel", "Just One Look", "Carrie Anne", "Here I Go Again", "Look Through Any Window", "King Midas In Reverse", "Jennifer Eccles", etc. "Graham Nash" was originally in this group & left in 1968 to form "Crosby, Stills & Nash".

    Big Big hit, 1966 Biz...these guys were really big. Loved their harmonies. Graham Nash was in this group, left them later to form Crosby Stills & Nash.

    I get so much pleasure out of watching you dig the great music that I grew up listening to, Biz. Your smile while listening to the song brings a smile to my face as well. "Bus Stop" was the Hollies first big hit in US, reaching #5 in 1965. They followed it up with a string of hits including "Stop, Stop, Stop", "On a Carousel", "Pay You Back With Interest" and "Carrie Anne." One of the very best of the British Invasion. Hoping to hear more from them as well as the Dave Clark Five and the Searchers.

      @@dianaspy6733 Your older brother has a great first name, Diana. I too had an older brother who was so excited when the Beatles announced that they were coming to America and were going to be on the Ed Sullivan Show. He'd be blabbering at the dinner table about "Beatles, Beatles, Beatles". And I'd be sitting there thinking "Beatles? What's Beatles!" Then when they appeared on Sullivan, I found out "What's Beatles" and became a huge fan of them and the other British bands for the rest of my life.

    Part of the original British Pop Invasion along with the Beatles and Stones. One of many songs written by Graham Gouldman of 10cc ( worth looking into). Graham Nash of Crosby Stills and Nash was still in the Hollies at this time.

    The Hollies . One of the leading British groups of the 1960s and into the mid-1970s, they are known for their distinctive three-part vocal harmony style. Allan Clarke and Graham Nash (CS&N) founded the band as a Merseybeat-type group in Manchester, although some of the band members came from towns further north in East Lancashire. Nash left the group in 1968 to form Crosby, Stills & Nash, though he has reunited with the Hollies on occasion

    I have many happy memories of listening to this 45 record on my little record player. The mid 60's were such a special time for pop/rock music, especially the British invasion bands like the Hollies. London in the 60's was a Renaissance time. In his memoir, Kenney Jones (Small Faces) says that after the war, in London, everything was black and white, then suddenly one day he saw a red sweater in a window and had to buy it - the whole world went technocolor. The fashion, the arts, and the music - so many great bands - along with the Hollies were the Beatles, Stones, Who, Yardbirds, Kinks, and so many more ... and of course my favorites SMALL FACES - the best little band that so many in the US never heard of. Please play some more🙏

    Their harmonizing was so unmistakable. Whenever a new song came out, knew it was the Hollies in the first couple of lines. 60s and 70s era music were the most precious. It’s amazing how easy it is to remember the schlyrics. Wish you had the memories when you listen to the previous eras. What eras are the most memorable for you?

    If this came out in 1966, that's the year I was born. I can hear that it's now a "historical" sound, but it sure doesn't feel like it. Time marches on. Now I'm the out of touch guy who doesn't know current bands/music.
    Don't stomp on a woman's boots! 😂

  • @mikecaetano
    @mikecaetano ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Groovy! Classic tune. 1966. The first thirty seconds or so of twelve string runs are iconic -- and then that chorus -- Graham Nash's harmony line sets what is already great to an even greater level. Then the plinky guitar solo in the turn around and the tasty bits of bass driving the song along with the drums and the six string acoustic. It's one of my all time favorites, even though it dropped before I was born. I spent a lot of time in the eighties listening to the "golden oldies" station on the AM radio in the truck we used at work -- 69 Xtra Gold -- out of Tijuana. "Bus Stop" got plenty of radio play on that station back then which made the trips to pick up parts less monotonous.
