A good friend of mine passed away recently and his funeral was a few days ago, *the entire time this scene was playing in my head* and it sorta came to life, When a majority of our friends pulled up fashionably late, drinking beers, and smoking while walking down the path in the cemetery lol. His uncle was like "who the hell are they" & his Grandpa says "Oh those are just his friends" lol. Rest In Peace Johnny and thank you for everything bro.
If my drunk, degenerate friends don’t come to my funeral smashed, I’ll be super annoyed, besides being annoyed of the whole being dead part. I want my funeral to be a tight rope where it seems like it will be completely ruined at any second, only for the… “what have you” to be completed and my family wondering, “what the fuck was that.?”
My best friend just died 10/21/2024 and this was his favorite show. His sister and I are legitimately thinking about doing this scene. It’d make him smile. Rest in peace Ace, we love you brother ❤️
I lost my cousin this week. My best friend. I’m utterly upset but every time I play this I laugh and smile. We laughed about this so many times watching it over the years. I love you Justin. I’ll see you again brother
Almost drove me to tears. My brother loved this scene. We lost him in 2017. Damn the grief; I still wish I had put some part of this in his eulogy. They're always with us. We have their motherfucking powers now.
My friend would always play that song. I showed him this scene and he laughed his ass off. He killed himself February 2020. Now this scene, no matter how funny it is reminds me of him. It makes me sad, but at the same time happy thinking about old times. RIP John.
Sorry to hear that, buddy. Sounds like you guys had some good times together in this eye blink of an existence. And that’s the only thing that matters or means anything.
The Top Gun part rips me to shreds. You know where he's going with it right away, but the timing of the audacity is absolutely perfect. Like a well placed kidney jab and then an uppercut to the taint n' balls.
Hilarious speech, yet with touching moments when he’s speaking of his memories of Shane. Believe it or not, watching this helped me prepare the eulogy I gave at my father’s funeral last year. Thanks Kenny!
Crz Xm Yes! I began my eulogy with saying , “I see so many people my dad loved,” and just left out the part about people who had no business being there! Then I talked about the movies we watched. I also put in the crazy things we did together, like when he taught me to drive in the same cemetery, and said, “Don’t worry about hitting anyone, because they’re already dead!” I really needed a good laugh to help me focus on the speech, and this did it!
Crz Xm Thank you so much! But the right kind of humor can help you get through situations like these. Luckily, my Dad had also recorded some movies just a couple weeks before he died, almost like he was leaving something for us to remember him by!
I don't if Candlebox is considered a great band, but "Far Behind" is decent. Pearl Jam is pretty much the most consistent group to come out of Seattle.
@@rumble2468 Consistent? One of the longest running of the 90's grunge bands maybe. Everyone else kicked the can. Soundgarden shits on Pearl Jam imo. Who gives a F what you consider Candlebox to be? It's all about personal opinion.
Idk I think Jody Hill picked two pretty shit 90s songs, purposefully; of course Kenny would pick those songs. Especially the Candlebox song, Alive isn’t so bad.
Pearl Jams 1st album came out when I was in jr. high. My older brother introduced me & my sister. So we're like 14, 15 & had to go to a wake for an older neighbor/family friend. PJ was on the radio (90s) when we got there. Once inside, we greeted ppl & such. My sister still had the song in her head & was absentmindedly singing out loud, not actually loud, but loud enough for the fucking widow to hear her singing - "Oh, IIIIIIIII, I'm still alive!" My poor sis. It was not deliberate or malicious. She was mortified & felt terrible. Thankfully, no one really heard & got upset. I, of course, still remind her 30yrs later.
I can't describe how happy I was and also how funny I think it is that he started to play Far Behind by Candlebox lol and also him playing Alive by Pearl Jam was fucked up but funny/great too and is a good song too
I told my old man that I would do this ay his funeral play his favorite artist and pour out a bottle of his favorite drink and walk away without saying nothing
this scene is so disturbing, disgusting, horrific, yet hilarious. Kenny Powers at his most Kenny Power-ish. Un-self-aware, self-centered asshole. I LOVE HIM!
“Don’t bury him yet….I’d love to add to the speeches” greatest line ever
Hahahhahahaa 100%

@@beef88 and that’s upsetting? Whooooo cares
To be fair that's almost exactly how shane would've wanted it
He’s want coke blown off the casket
Not that his family cared
Except the Tom cruise part, Kenny is clearly Goose.

@@masterzombie161 idk I think Shane’s Goose.. “cause in that motion picture goose dies… and Shane’s dead”… 😂😂

When surround sound came around Top Gun was the goat. I know I sound old but it was a good decade
The way he gestures to the casket during the line “as you fall into the ground” kills me
and shane brother is like "no don't be saying that shit" lol
i didn't even notice that until i saw this! lmfao
And points to himself going "I'm still alive"🤣

I fucking lost it when he started air guitaring.
Hahahahah air

“I’m Tom cruise guys” is the funniest part of this whole show😂😂😂😂

It’s SO good
Well time to go reWatch the entire series again for the 100th time. Shit never gets old, only funnier.
I finished it last night, it felt great watching it again.
Never gets old, just like Shane
This is why I love season 3 of eastbound and down lol
What is it
Same in 2024
"Shane is Goose." LOL
Lmao
“I’m Tom Cruise guys.”
Because it that motion picture Goose dies
“End of intro to funeral speech” is my favorite line in the series. Besides “watch it, ass blood”
“DONT MAKE ME KILL SOMEBODY”
I love how he takes time to throw shade at Ivan.
"and now he is dead, so we know who is goose" get me every time LMAO
Because in that motion picture, goose dies. 😂

He had the respect to play the entire song. That’s a real friend 😂
Kenny always makes every situation about himself 🤣
