Lol for some reasons I’ve come across a handful of black babies that can roll their eyes before they can speak looool. I’m starting to believe that it’s innate for some of us lol.

He may have been a little advanced but mimicking expressions/sounds is actually a milestone for baby's. Now what he isn't capable of at this age is understanding the cognitive meaning of eye rolling.

Seems like their reactions are encouraging this behavior. Babies are smart, they watch everything you do and copy it/pick up on patterns. When my daughter entered a hitting phase she'd hit me but not dad. My husband very quickly disciplined her and would not respond to her smiling after she hit me. Took a few months but no hitting at all now.

He isn’t even old enough to control it yet. He wouldn’t even know why he was in trouble if they disciplined him. He can’t control it yet.

Toddlers actually will pick a favorite parent at that age, something about the familiarity is comforting. It has to do with a normal development and attachment stage, but doesnt mean anything about the other parent.

Young toddlers (especially male) will mirror and reflect behaviors learned at the person they learned them from. Your son has probably seen you roll your eyes a lot at your partner, and your partner seems to be very affectionate. So most likely your son has now associated you with eye rolling and dismissive behavior because that's what he thinks you understand as a show of affection. Where as he knows he can get attention from dad by showing affection. Without meaning to children are master manipulators and will always exhibit behaviors and mirror behaviors that get them what they want.
