Lydia Jami I had been suffering with this for over 6 months and what really helped was high doses of probiotics (20 billion live active cultures, 12 strains) , 3 Allegra a day, spirulina, and fish oil. Topically oregano oil and aquaphore back to back. I had to do this for almost 3-4 months. Once I started this regime I experienced a bit of “herxheimer reaction” but it has finally cleared up completely. Reddit has a great post on this just google it should come up.

I have it both on my hands and feet. I've had it all my life. Doctors would say it would go away as I grew older but I'm in my twenties now, yet it never did. I felt like I was the only one going through this, like no-one in my family or my friends had anything like this. But after watching this video and reading the comments by people who suffer from this definitely makes me feel like I'm not alone in this.
Yes stress makes it 10x worse for me, cuz I get flare-ups whenever I have a huge exam coming up. The weather also probably has something to do with it, cuz I also get outbreaks around season changes. Like I have it right now.
I hope everyone with skin conditions like this are doing better and pray that we get healed permanently.

I’ve found ways to manage mine:
-try to avoid all soaps with sulfates and phosphates (don’t be scared to carry your own soap bar around!)
-when it gets at its worst, I put ice cold water with aloe broken apart in it and place my hand there until they feel better (itch free)
-super important to carry natural lotion around (Lush, Aveeno, & Origins i like a lot)
-avoid heat, run under cold water or place hands in front of ac or fan
Best things ever: aloe & vitamin e oil
I try to stay natural as possible so I avoid stinging

I have had this my entire life and what I have discovered through research and experimentation is that it's basically an allergic reaction that you will never be completely cured of, though it can be managed. I discovered that generically made soaps and detergents, especially in liquid form, [shampoo, conditioner, body wash, probably hand moisturizer too, but I dont know because I dont use hand moisturizer, for this reason; etc] all contain harsh chemicals and/or metals that can irritate your skin and cause flare ups. Moisture and oils from yours hands will also do it; it is important to keep your hands as dry as possible at all times. It has also become clear to me that if you don't exercise your hands in a way that promotes muscle growth, this will also cause flare ups [this has led me to believe that the eczema may be caused by the breaking down of unused muscle tissue, but I dont know for sure; experienced intuitive connections].
Drugs like prednisone and steroid creams are harsh, temporary solutions and should be avoided from long term use. Without finding ways of managing your eczema naturally, and relying on prescriptions, you will continue wreaking havoc on your body, and long term side effects can begin to manifest.
How I've learned to manage my eczema:
Eliminated harsh soaps. I now only use pure castille [100% olive oil] soap, in bar form, with nothing added to it. This includes hand washing, body washing, and has replaced shampoo and conditioner- its all I use.
Work with my hands. Keeping them active by handling heavy objects promotes muscle growth.
Woodworking/yard work. Instead of washing your hands with soap and water [which promote eczema], wash your hands with dirt and/or sawdust- really. The dirt helps exfoliate the skin and absorbs moisture promoting new skin growth. It also contains vitamins and minerals which will help promote the repair of damaged skin.
Woodworking. I know most of you probably dont have the means of working in a wood shop, or building houses, but working with wood [without gloves on, yes, you may get a splinter or two] helps whisk moisture away from hands. It also helps promote muscle growth. You would be able to procure sawdust/ wood chips easily if you wanted to try this as a therapy. But, you'd be advised to stay away from wood that contains large amounts of oil like cedar, or mahogany, because these oily woods can cause a flare up. Pine dust works well. You would be amazed how quickly your eczema clears up if you spent a couple of days building a shed, or something similar.
These are the basic guidelines that I have developed and used for many years and now I rarely get eczema, though a blister or two will still pop up from time to time, inevitably.
Why I am here writing this right now:
I recently broke a bone in my hand, had surgery, had a splint put on, and the trapped moisture and chemicals underneath the splint has turned my hand into something that could be used as an 80's B-rated horror movie prop. After all the years of researching and experimenting, I have never seen anything like this and was hoping to find another way of curing this without prescription medicines because, unfortunately, and admittedly, the magnitude of the current damage is way beyond the use of sawdust. We're talking fire.
Hope this helps someone out there in youtube land.

I wrote this before I finished watching your video. I used to work in restaurants, and having to constantly wash your hands is like aiding your enemy in battle. You may want to consider a change in profession.

it must vary from person to person, because I find it to be it's worst after exercise (my feet, like it's being irritated) and when I leave it dry out too much. I get very itchy-dry hands, and moisturiser seems to quell it. I've only developed it this year so it was scary not knowing what it was.

Guys I suffered everything ur going thru now for 8 years. Recently we had my son skin patch tested and found out he's allergic to eggs( which are in ALOT of food )
Eggs were the ONLY food I hadn't tried eliminating from my diet bc I had eaten them my whole life and didn't suspect them. Stopped any eggs completely and the only flare up ive had for a year is when I had donuts with eggs. Don't just let ur dermatologist prescribe steroids, demand a skin patch test! Plz I know how awful this is, find out the root cause and eliminate it
    hope this helps somebody♡

Thanks for posting this, it's nice to hear about how someone who's gone through this type of eczema has coped with it! If you're not allergic to nuts, I've found that almond milk and cashew milk are nice dairy substitutes which have a lighter flavour than soya milk and don't affect the taste when you're having it with cereal or coffee.
As for shampoos/conditioners, I started using ones by a brand called "Live Clean". They're sold in Canada, but I'm not sure if they're available internationally. The pompholyx eczema that plagued my palms disappeared within a couple weeks into switching to these products and flare-ups have been minimal.
Hope this also helps someone out there!

Omg! Thank you so much for doing this eczema video. Ive started with this type of eczema during lockdown and i cannot get rid of one lot of blisters before another lot erupt. Ive been scratching so much that i have bled and have been wearing the white gloves at night with steroid cream. It is fantastic that I am not alone in this, but i wouldn’t wish this on anyone. I haven’t yet been able to pinpoint my trigger factors yet but I’m sure stress is one of them. Your video has helped me think more positive and that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Sending positive thoughts to all fellow sufferers. 🌈❤️

I use hot water (just below scalding temperature) to keep my hands from itching. It has to be from running water to work good. For some reason, it feels as good as having an orgasm. That definitely does less damage than rubbing them raw, though.

I’m finally able to try and get an appointment with a dermatologist, my hands are killing me still having to go to work, as an essential! As for non-dairy milks, the best I’ve found is oat milk. I find that it’s the most neutral in flavor, I’m sensitive to the nutty flavor of a lot of alternatives like soy, almond, cashew milk, etc, I just can’t get past it. Oatly’s my primary brand, I like their barista blend for coffee, but their Original kind is best for cereal, as the texture isn’t as creamy!

I'm going through this so bad right now! I originally started getting it around a year and a half ago, but it would never get to the point where it was painful. A couple of months ago my nannan got really ill and due to the stress and emotions, it flared up big time. I got some steroid cream and epaderm from the doctors, as well as having some diprobase and none of them worked. My nannan then passed away in August and it got even worse! Stress and emotions are definitely a big factor! I'm now at the point where I physically can't do anything myself, I'm 23 years old and I had to get my mum to wash me and my hair this morning. I've tried everything you've mentioned and unfortunately nothing has worked for me. I was trying to eat tonight and I just couldn't grip my cutlery. I looked down at my hands and just stared at them and cried. They're hideous. They look burnt. I'm so embarrassed cos I just look like a scabby mess. I'm off to a walk in centre tomorrow to see if anything more can be done. I really can't cope with this anymore, it's so emotionally draining 😴

Stress is the worst irritant of all :( The only thing that is working for me at the moment is a type of cream called skin food which is quite expensive but you can buy it in specialist health food shops. Literally have saved my hands but I have to put it on every time I either wash my hands or touch something that might potentially wipe it off. Worth giving that a go? And I am sorry to hear about your Nannan xox

Hey, I have eczema all over my body. I have had it since birth but it wasn't notice able until I moved to America. Washington's weather really effected me, I always cried my body would burn from water and lotion. I would always hate me, myself and my body. I thought people didn't hang out with me because of my eczema. I always felt different, because I couldn't eat everything a normal child would. I was so scared to take baths, I would cry and beg my mom not to take baths. I would wake up in the middle of the night itching and crying, I couldn't go back to bed. I would have blood on my sheets. Non of the things I have used to get rid of my eczema has worked. It makes me sadder that the doctor tell me that it will never go away but it can get a little better. I am twelve and still have eczema...I feel depressed and feel like I dont fit in. !! ❤️✨😭😭😭

A week ago on TH-cam, I came across video that said eczema was a fungus and maybe something about parasites. These videos say. The gut needs cleaning. Everyone has different ways of changing the diet..have not changed diet much ,but did cut it a lot of sugar . That caused change in itch almost none. Skin was flaky but did not itch..did not sweat, until I ate a lot of sugar again. Sugar feeds fungus Look out for sugar and eczema as fungus.Could be new start for treatment.

At leaft I knew, what was wrong with me and now I can control it. Elocon is indeed a life saver. Also doctor recommended me antihistamines, when the situation is bad, because basically, the pompholyx is a kind a alergic reaction, but without specific antibodies being produced. Stress, nickel allergy (contact and ingestion), and shellfish and soy (being main components of some peoples' diets) can all lead to pompholyx (dyshidrotic) eczema. I've been using itch creams, eczema lotions, modifying my diet, aloe vera gel (alcohol free), it's slowly clearing up for me. I'm actually taking care of my body, applying lotions and such to my skin, and my overall eczema situation is improving.

For so, so, so so long I had thought it was athletes foot and had gone to the pharmacy asking for treatment for athletes foot. I tried absolutely all of the treatments and they didn't work. I just beleived that my thletes foot was incurable. Picked up the phone and spoke with the doctor today & sent her pics. She told me it's pomphlyx eczema. I am so relieved I know what it is. Now that I knwo what it is I can finally start treating it. I also don't drink regular milk. I drink soya milk. I cannot drink the standard soya milk it tastes really horrible to me. I drink sweetened soya milk that I buy from Lidl. (Not the almond one, just the one that's called 'sweetened' by the brand 'Just Free'. I like the taste of it. You can also buy sweetened soya milk from tesco and probably other supermarkets too :) I also use Sanex. Maybe your doc can suggest some non chemical products for your hair

I’d have huge rashes on my legs. Over the years I didn’t expect much from it. Guess it came back but differently. Except I now have it on the side of my thumb and the side of my pointer finger. Its really weird and irritating and I don’t know if I should visit the doctor or not.

I’m 32 and I’ve had it for a few years, it’s something when it’s really bad I’m so self conscious of. I’ve tried steroid cream, diprobase, etc etc and no results. I found it went away when I really used my willpower to prevent myself from scratching and ran my hands under a cold tap to distract the burning itching feeling. I will maybe try the cotton gloves and steroid overnight like you suggested. I also bought some non latex rubber gloves off eBay and I use them in the shower with all my products like face wash, shampoo and conditioner which helps so much so I recommend that. Thank you so much for your video it really helped me feel a bit more normal and that yes it is common. It’s just such an embarrassing condition I think personally. Thank you for being so open and honest about it xxx

the problem is detergent, dish soap especially. My hands get terrible bleeding cracks. Don't go anywhere near the sink without gloves on. If my hands start to itch I rinse them exhaustively with fresh water and then dry them thoroughly. Until I figured out it was dish soap I needed strong clobetasol, now I"m symptom free and need no steroids.
These bleeding cracks she shows are something more than just pompholyx, most people with dyshydrosis don't have them, only blisters. I don't get the blisters very often at all.
I don't believe you have "infection" don't overuse antibiotics. Just because it's red and even bleeding doesn't mean it's "infected".

I've had this hand eczema since I was about 6, and then it disappeared for about 2yrs in my late teens, and it came back this year right now which sucks. :/ I've tried numerous creams, medicines, went to many doctors, but I think this just does not have a definite answer. I think it's related to everything I do. Stress, food, seasons, weather... everything! For my case tho, food rlly is important, cause whenever I eat too much flour(like cookies, bread, junk food actually), it comes back! It's freaking itchy like you mentioned, bleeds, skin peels off, but hopefully eventually they turn back to normal. It's painful and rlly drops everyday life, but in the end, they do go away. I hope everyone who's struggling w this gets free someday..!

Cerave cream 1-2 times a day within 5 minutes after shower is ideal. I prefer it to Cetaphil, and so does my dermatologist. Soaking hands/feet in warm water for 10-15 minutes then applying cream also helps. Just make sure to dry.
Scratching is a big thing to try to avoid because it will feel better if you don't scratch. It's a difficult habit to overcome but sooo worth it.
Also, looking into your nutrition because different things can cause flare up, sometimes greasy foods or alcohol.

I actually have this between my pinky and ring finger. I remember it became super itchy, and then these small blisters with clear liquid would form. Then my skin got really raw and irritated and finally dry, cracked, flaky, and bleeding. Then the cycle would repeat! It was irritating, but I realized that I had been consuming way too much lactose products! I would have two glasses of milk, multiple cheese slices, whey protein, yoghurt, and cottage cheese a day!! I quit everything except the whey protein and it reduced to almost nothing (it comes back, but it doesn’t linger for more than a few days).

Hey, thanks for your video, my family has this too we feel you!! :] So I don't know if you'll like it or have any nut allergies but I've like almond milk as a milk replacement because to me it has a similar texture as milk which is nice and it comes in flavors called like "Original" which tastes like almonds to me, and it can also come it like "Vanilla", which tastes great and light! Good luck! (To me, the "unsweetened" flavors, even in Vanilla are alright but seem like salty or something?)

Thank you for telling your story. I have recently been diagnosed with the same problem and my hands and feet are awful. Somebody recommended Child’s Farm baby products. They do body washes, shampoo, moisturiser etc. I have psoriasis as well so have used many many products over the years. I can honestly say Childs Farm moisturiser has helped me so much. It’s truly amazing and it’s cheap!! And it smells good. Check out some of the reviews. Really worth a try.

Thanks for the tips! I have finally found a method that has cured my eczema but I will keep an eye out for these products anyway :)

so i've recently noticed these small light colored bumps on the skin around my cuticles & i
did some research and found out it might be eczema. i'm really worried. i think it's dyshidrotic eczema. My little sister has eczema too & it can flare up bad sometimes. I just wanna say you're incredibly strong for going through this ❤️

I know this is an older comment but over the last month I’ve had the same thing! My skin then cracks and is really dry no matter how much moisturiser I put on. I suspect it’s dyshidrotic eczema (GP thought it was too) but it’s not itchy…not sure what caused it or what to do really

I had eczema quite badly as a kid, but it cleared up in my adult years. However, recently I have had several bouts of Pompholyx which rendered my hands unusable and covered both my feet at one point, it was like having socks and gloves made out of blisters, it would stop in clear lines, like socks and gloves too, it would not pass my ankles and wrists, totally bizarre. The blisters were so big they were like rope burns. I know the advice is not to scratch, which for most of the time I would not because it just made it swell up worse, but during the night, it was like sleepwalking, I would wake up and find myself sitting up, gouging massive deep holes in my feet and hands, the sheets would be red with blood, that I could not stop.
I cannot use steroid creams, as back in 2016 I had an addiction to 'legal high' benzodiazepines which I was forced to end cold turkey, it almost killed me and left me with something akin to a brain injury. Some of those withdrawal symptoms lingered on for years and if I use anything with a steroid in, my whole body feels like I've overdosed on caffeine and all my joints become so painful I cannot get out of bed and I get pins & needles all over my body. Steroid creams caused this, and I haven't been able to use them for years now, for some reason this experience has left me over sensitive to anything that can be absorbed through the skin, I have to be careful with all sorts, even shop bought lotions, creams, shampoos, makeup etc can cause me internal, neurological reactions, nobody believes or understands this, so I do not expect anyone here to either. So when the eczema comes back, it takes about two to three months to heal because of me ripping it open night after night in my sleep. It got to the point once where I stayed awake for four nights straight just to give it chance to dry out and stop bleeding. I even tried gloves but I ripped them off too. It'll go from the open, raw phase, through to the point my skin peels off, the whole process can take weeks/months.
I would resort to plunging my hands and feet into hot water, just under the point of being scalding, this would stop the itching for a few minutes.
So far I have not had it again, but it is lurking, waiting to come back, and there is nothing I can do when it does.

I have it on my hands and feet. It’s under control right now but harsh soaps really flare it up, mostly due to the sulfates in them. There’s OGX, Palmers, Alba Botanica. Aveeno even has a really nice sulfate free shampoo and conditioner.

i also have this type of eczema. my trigger is also stress and milk products. i dont have it nearly as bad as you but the itch is really bad. the doctor prescribed triamcinolone 0.1% cream. it helps relieve the itch.

Thanks for sharing! Pompholyx Eczema really sucks!
I actually really like Soy milk, so I'm gonna try laying off the dairy.
