- This is our self build motorhome we made back in 2016.
The van stated life as a work van and was clean out side but well worn inside.
We could only work on the van at weekends so the build time was over the course of a year.
Sorry the video is so long but I hope it is of some use to others.
That is the best example of a good excellent conversion done, the attention to detail is great, mad skills, people don’t realise the effort that goes in
Well done,
Rebel with a cause kind words thank you.
Very nice ! I don't understand why haters will give a thumb down ? Probably they are envious...
The Ducato is basically the best van in the world to convert. Let us dont forget that Fiat leads the world of motorhomes/campervans. Many just have a different name but are basically a Fiat Ducato.
I want to buy the same van and do a conversion myself
Top class craftsmanship. Bravo!Enjoy the fruits of your labor
jesters600 That camper van conversion is no joke ! its one of the finest ive seen so far, hats off to you and enjoy the lifestyle .
Top marks that was truly impressive. Have to wonder the van cost and all the modifications. Why would anyone in their right mind vote this down - its first class attention to detail, PM planning A+. Great job guys.
The workmanship and attention to detail is amazing!

Simply beautiful and an amazing use of space for a family. You’ve everything you need and then some. Top notch professional job. Thanks for sharing. Perhaps you’ll attend the ‘Quirky Camper’ bespoke van meet up- I’m sure you’d be a big hit and have lots to share with the community.
Great job, bet your kids love it.
So really good ideas.👍
They have outgrown it now so we are building a 2 birth right now. Vid will be up in next few weeks.
May I also say I think your build is better than factory build stronger and going to last longer many thanks
We have the same model and yet our tiny houses in vans are so different.
That’s the joy of doing your own planning isn’t it?
A great vid 😊
Very nice van , glad to see a bathroom i don't know how some people manage without one
Great build video. Top tip, a grab handle on the rear of the sliding door (mine came off a Passat) helps you shut it from the inside without slamming it!
Very ingenious rigging for tensioning glued items, very thoughtful and high quality build.
WOW, this looks better than most camper vans models on today’s market.. amazing.. never seen a floor plan like this before.. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
We needed a 4 berth and this was the only option, now the kids dont go away with is we just have loads of extra storage ( and somewhere to get some shut eye when needed )
Craig Morgan Craig I know right.
Live Free or Die so nice.. I’ve seen a lot of campervan builds.. this the best one yet.. this look like dealership showroom..
Craig Morgan Craig I feel the same. And about $40K cheaper.
Live Free or Die heck yeah.. I’m thinking about doing something like this..
So, watching it and thinking hmm, then bang it's huge inside ... floor plan well thought out ... love the van ... maybe you should consider doing it for a living.
Outstanding sir you should be very proud you have inspired me many thanks enjoy
Very professional. Well done. This looks OEM.
Also, the way forward, is with a multifuel burner which is what u've got, cos I've got one in my van, free wood a bit of coal .and it will stay in all night diesel heaters are in my opinion crap, there is loads of wood lying around, I burn driftwood in mine, doesn't cost anything. GOOD LUCK in your van, and happy times.
Very nice van & with a bathroom well done
That is gorgeous. Many inspirations for my current build❤. Well done.
Best van build I’ve ever seen, bar none! Love, love, love it! Bravo! 👏👏👏
Superb design and excellent execution
excellent job there......hope you are enjoying
I've got a Peugeot Boxer that looks similar to yours 👍love it
very nice build. good luck on your travels
Awesome conversion. Very well made. Take care cheers Karl
Great video. I am contemplating a van conversion, YT is a perfect ressource for collecting ideas. I like much of what you have done - the thing that stands out for me is the foldup sink and the faucet setup next to it, that doubles as the shower head. Ingenious! :-)
The prior comments are right: Better than a commercially built unit - we drove a brandnew unit as a rental in May - defects to no end.
Lovely van your very talented mate ,I hope you have bags of fun well done
Sei un artista 👨🎨, paziente e geniale. Hai tutta la mia ammirazione 👏👏👏👏
Ma come si fa poi con l'omologazione, mi chiedo questo perché è un mio pensiero di fare lo stesso.
One of the best self builds I have seen
What great job! Well done!! I bet it was very satisfying for you!!!
Great work you have done, and nice contrast in colours,,well done
lovely van dude. I love the red,black and grey theme. I may have to steal that idea for my build. :=}
Well Done, you must be very proud of your work. It looks fantastic.
That is as good as a factory built van,you could sell that all day long, nice van great build excellent van for families has everything, well done mate, Stevie wonder must of given you the thumbs down.
mr love mr love I totally agree.
Absolute dream build fantastic.you done a marvelous job.hit the road and enjoy.freeeeeeerdom!!
very well done , I would love to do this but my efforts would be awful.
WOW! A true labor of Love. Thank you so much for sharing.
holy cow. that is an amazing build
stunning job great video one of the best ive seen
Woooooooooow!!! Amazing project!!! Congrata bro!!!
I love your conversion my friend and I also loved the rendition of Bryan Adams' Heaven, you did a really good job there matey......
Very nicely done
Great work! personally I think people waste so much space installing a room for the toilet, it’s such a waste of space for such a small van, I installed a compost toilet under the seat and it’s the best, no loss of room no smell and much more pleasant to empty!
Awesome build,welldone
chalkie hughes Hughes definitely
Outstanding job
Excellent.... Maggie and Mack, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire
Fair play! You made a nice job of that.
well done it looks lovely
Great job. I’m considering one of these vans but I’m a bit concerned on head space. I’m 6 ft so wondering how much head space you have after insulation, flooring etc.
Incredibile! Fantastico, complimenti
Narration is so much more enjoyable. Nice truck though.
Looks fantastic
beautiful job,
Hiya loved your video / build :) , can you tell or link me the stuff you used for the headliner
Great job
Absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!
Best van build I've seen! Love the lay out.. Do you have your floorplan and measurement's?
really great job
Bravo beau travail
Lovely finish. But I'm confused as to your insulation, or lack of it. You just seemed to use sound deadening (and a lot of it!) Its a little thermal perhaps, but no where near enough. No vapor barrier either. That's just going to condensate between the walls and the deadening.
Uber Tramp 3 to 4” thick insulation. As the wall finishes got fitted the full insulation got fitted, just photos not added to video. not the first to mention it. Cheers
Nicely done!
Great job, thank you so much for sharing ❤️
Hi! Have you got a wiring diagram of the campervan? I’m going to build similar one and would like to learn more about electricity in a campervan. Especially I’m interested about switching from solar panels to external 240v source.
By far the worst choice van for any kind of long distance driveing I have a 2016 ducato and if your over 5ft6 it's agony I'm 6ft5 and the steering wheel is ok for reach but it has no rake the handbrake is squeezed down the right side of the seat and the passenger seat is very uncomfortable on the upside thay will pull and pull all day long very powerful and good on fuel will sit at 80 to 90 mph all day long .
Your self build is stunning very good quality of work there pal
superbe ! félicitation
Van looks great ! Apart from the cost of the van, how much (roughly) was the build / conversion ?
Van is a credit to you, Mike, County Durham
Great job how much did it cost and would you do mine please
Really nice!
Why do the windows look bigger on the outside and smaller on the inside ??
I like your build very much! Is it a 144 or 170? I am hoping to learn pointers of which is best. Thanks!
Do you have Van purchase cost, materials & Labour Hrs to see the difference of buying a second hand, Fiat Adria?
Frank Stocker all in 10k
Great Video. Silly question but why the different quantities / pattern of noggins on the floor?
Just makes it more stable under foot, with out all the noggins you can just feel movement in floor. The main walkway has the most for support.
Title of the clip is 2016 Fiat ducato... so near the end it shows the van as a 2006! not enough insulation as others have pointed out and also that cost 11k including the van?? how when most of the stuff i've seen fitted in the film looked second hand (which seemed to have taught you a lesson with the water heater that blew up) ... also what made you change the graphic to red?... something wife did notice is cables and pipes run past metal edges that don't have any grommets or rubber strip to protect them from chafing ....
apart from that it looks ok ... and yes ive just self built on exactly the same van for 8k including the van
L S sorry the title is confusing, description stats “hand made in 2016” there are no photos of the finished insulation but it is packed out 4/5” all round ( no just what’s shown in vid ) cost is on going and includes tv, chairs, awning ( we have 2 ). Water heater that blew was sold in parts and ended up getting more in parts then what we paid for it but deffo lesson learnt. Never liked the black silver stickers and the red looks better with how the inside looked in the end. ( make my own so may change them again ) wires all got sealed up after final pull in to position and cooled up in case of future mods/maintenance. Thanks for your comments, next time we will show in more detail as never planned on making a video or we would of added more info.
Blue up lol looks good though.
How goes the toilet experience in the van?
Is a deuce feasible without stinking up the whole area?
Is there a big fan for that?
Just wondering, been considering.
Mega!
Brilliant job sir. How much would you charge to do a similar job?
Sorry, no time. i want to start another 2 berth but no time now as normal work gets in the way.
The LPG tank right next to the exhaust?
Impressive build! What type of water heater was it and where can I get one. I watch your vid over and over again.
Beautiful!
no where near enough insulation in the walls, definitely needed more
matt james doesn’t show on the video but all cavities got filled to the max, 4” at least before the final wall sides got screwed on. Thanks for the comment though.
solid installation!!
Far from it!!!
I'm really impressed with your upholstery work. Any chance you could share what the materials are for the ceiling and walls?
Ricksflicks walls come from magnum in Grimsby, ceiling foam backed vinyl off eBay.
Amazing!🤩
Hiya could you give me more info and pics on doing the seatbelts for rear thanks
Great build mate, hope to get a van soon to convert. love the detail you have round the window frame. what is the white trim you have used? totally gives it the pro build look.
Nice :) This is L3H2 Ducato or shorter ? How wide are beds ? Access to the beds is comfortable enough ? (looks like a bit tight)
howgheye main bed 6x4, bunks 6x2 rear beds easy to get in as bottom draw is also a pull out step. Van is L3H2
What a beautiful job, very well done. Hope you are enjoying it! Is the van the LWB or the Super LWB?
Steve Marshall L3 long, we want a L4 extra long for the next build.
Hi .nice work what you use for heating the water Thanks
Carver Cascade water heater, buy new as they corrode and blow up. as shown in the vid. thanks
Amazing, so beautiful, can u convert my van too.. Where about are you
Beautiful BUT very little insulation. love the bunks!
Your one hell of a good trades man. how long did it take to do and how much did it cost👍👌
maz man this took us a year but we only worked on Sunday’s and not when it was cold or raining. It worked out at 30/40 days work.
Cost 10k ish including the van but if we did it again would work out a little cheaper.
Bravo 👏👍
Hello what is it 8:56 above water pump?
PS.Custom it’s the water heater copper cylinder with insulation cover fitted. ( works on gas or mains hookup )
jesters600 did you buy it or made it yourself?
PS.Custom it’s called a carver cascade 2 water heater.
jesters600 thank you
please, what's the music playlist? I'm a part rock enthusiast
Quality work, very well done! What did you use for insulation, and have you found it sufficient?
József Milán Pintér we used foam rubber matting for sound insulation along with foil backed twin ply bubble wrap. 6 layers worth. 4-5” thick in the end. Sound proofing works well in the rain and in the winter you can feel the temperature difference inside so well happy with the result.
Hi what supplier did you use tia
