I'm predicting we're a spy for the human army. Being his pet was a ploy to get close physically, answering even the smallest things with total honesty is how we earn his trust and divert suspicion if something goes wrong.
Hurt a lot more than expected when he said we're just a tool and an object to him 😥 Makes me curious if the listener's loyalties might shift, even if just a little.
I kind of really hope that if they come to the castle and offer the Listener a chance to kill the Dragon King, that seem like they are going to be swayed. I mean after all he did just call us a pretty bauble or a useful tool to be used at his leisure. But then at the last minute, they turn on the leaders of the uprising and attack them with such ferocity that they think they might be a dragon in disguise. But no it turns out they are 100% human but the King has treated them with more love and compassion that any human could ever hope to do. And while other human vassals and servants might turn on their owners as it were, the Listener male or female will not because of who the King of the Dragons is.
Hate to break it to you, but the warrior is already a statue at this point, and has been for a few centuries. It happened right as the dragons were beginning to take over, after the two brutal back-to-back wars of The Razor Edge and Bleeding Souls. More lore at 11 😂
Edit: question, what is this from? Are they ocs or from a show of some kind? I actually appreciate that there are both male and female listener versions to most of these, it's very nice
