I think in an interview before he said that when he was a little kid his mom and grandma would ask him to sing and perform in a karaoke whenever there was a family gathering, usually he would be ask to sing ballad songs with high notes. He even stated before that his mom enrolled him to a vocal coach to develop his singing ability. But when he was in high school he got more interested in dancing and that was he was involved with dance group.

In the Philippines singing is part of life since childhood. Every house they have their karaoke. And you can sing and practice all you want. You can also sing with your family and friends. You can sing your heart's out, without worrying somebody will complain. Neighboor were probably enjoy listening to you and appreciate you.or doing karaoke as well. Stell was singing since childhood and he have innate talent which he confirmed during his billboard ph interview. Most of us filipinos can really sing, or at least a decent singer. Dont give us mic.😅
He is quite shaky in this performance but the JAPAN performance was clean 😊 Not that he did bad in this vid, he was never bad. Great vocalist as always 🙌
