The way I absolutely get why Haein is down horrendously bad for this man. And Eunsung thought Haein would pick him over Hyunwoo? ijbol. Clown of the year.
@@serwaaray679I'm glad someone agrees with me he was delusional I'm not even surprised that his obsession pretty much turned him into a psychopath in the finale episode 😁
I’ve watched a lot of movies, international dramas, shows, and read a lot of books as well, but I won’t lie that Baek Hyun Woo is my ideal man from out everything I’ve seen.
Hyun-woo turned that way in the end but from episodes 1 to roughly partway through 3 he was a grade A jerk to his wife. The comedy did a lot to dampen that fact, and he only stated feeling attracted to her again by episode 4 and remembering a long forgotten promise by the end of episode 5. While Hae-in might have seemed cold from the start, that’s as a result of growing up with no one, eventually finding someone who promised to stay with her no matter what, and then losing that person. She never stopped loving him and made moves several times to reconnect with him and he ran away every single time.
@@bennion2010 I get that, but also understand that Hyun Woo was constantly mistreated by Haein’s family, they were mentally abusive, and they basically washed him dry of everything he was worth. They continue to humiliate him, and use him when he’s needed, but never want to give him the love, credit, respect, or appreciation for it ever. And as much as I love Haein, she did nothing to sort of “stop” that behaviour. And I absolutely don’t place blame on her, she was also struggling with her family too. But just in defence of Hyun Woo, I can understand how years of discomfort and mental abuse can drive a person insane and internally cold. The point of the show was that they’re both human characters, they have flaws but what’s important it that they overcame it together and rekindled their love. After all, Hyun Woo never stopped loving Haein, he was just fed up with his in laws, and most importantly, the miscarriage of their baby was the last thread that led to their “downfall”. Haein kept projecting her guilt onto Hyun Woo, saying that he blamed her for the miscarriage even though he never did, and this contributed to the lack of communication in their marriage. They both drifted apart because they didn’t talk it out, nor make the effort to understand one another, up until the end of course.
@@Lunafroyo Hae-in warned him of the sort of treatment he would receive from her family and that she would not be able to defend him. Personally, I think Hyun-woo did partially blame her for the miscarriage because if he didn’t, he would have been a bit more patient with her given the weight of the situation they were in. He had already experienced the treatment from her family and he knew how Hae-in’s temper was too. While Hae-in never for one second stopped loving him, he allowed his love for her to turn into resentment, his visit to the therapist is rather telling as he singled her out when the therapist mentions moving out with his wife. As you watch the show, you see Hae-in constantly trying to create situations in which they can try to reconnect and he runs away every time. Episode 7 ending sequence was rather interesting because it was used to show us Hae-in’s romantic state of mind towards him before their trip to Germany and that was why he cried even harder after she tells him she loves him. I love the show and particularly liked how they went about telling the story. Instead of a couple falling in love, we get a couple dealing with pretty much the worst life can throw at them, and somehow finding their way back to each other. The writers wrote Hae-in how she is to initially have viewers sympathise more with Hyun-woo while his misdeeds are wrapped up in humour and comedy. Once you finish and rewatch, now having a better idea of what’s going on, you start to see what he himself did wrong and what his apology at the end while he was in the hospital was really was about.
In my opinion, the moment he became the biggest green flag was when he told her the truth in the scene where she forgot what happened in Germany, even though it would have benefited him if he didn't. Unlike Eun Sung, he didn't take advantage of her situation.
Honestly l am so sad not many people are talking about the line where hyun-woo asks hae-in to not pray about dying cause he is terrified it will come true. I mean it is such a powerful line. While that scene already made me cry a week's worth of tears, that line made me sob even more.
After watching Hyun-woo's bragging scenes a couple of times, I realised that he only does it in front of Hae-in. Which in turn made me realise that bragging about stuff is his attempt to flirt. Makes me think that someone (probably his older brother) told him that you can impress girls by bragging about your success, property and abilities. He probably doesn't realise how cringe it is because he never tried it before as Hae-in is the first woman he fell for and she seems to find it weird but in a cute way.

I've got to admit at episode 2, I thought he was a pretty horrible husband and a somewhat bad person, But he's more than redeemed himself, maybe even too much.
Having to suffer tourcher from in- laws 3 years and not getting support from the wife ,still maintained that relationship honestly , did not cheat in business or marriage and eventually had to take a bullet for love , what else could one do
i think he was valid for the 1st 2 ep tbh. He was unhappy and Haein, as basically the one in power considering it was her family who made it hard for him, didn't do anything when she clearly could've. Obv she can't control what her family does, but she's powerful enough to make changes. That time when Hyun woo was kinda happy abt her dying, I'm pretty sure that it was just driven by how unhappy he was and how he didn't really believe in Haein's love for him either. She was unhappy too of course, but she also didn't do anything to make it better for either of them when she was in a position where she could. (like he literally had ppl following him all the time, she could've checked up on him, while he on the other hand only had her coldness to go off of)
You are totally correct. I'm sorry but when you love someone, or even like slightly care about them, your first reaction to hearing they are dying is not joy, excitement, anticipation, or any of the adjacent emotions. He let his resentment build up so much that he genuinely did not even care about her, actually being disappointed when she would say she's going to survive. Not being able to communicate with your spouse and feeling resentment about that is not enough justification to actually look forward to the others death. It was played as comedic relief, but it did make him unlikable. And everyone is always putting all the blame of the in-laws on Hae-in as if she wasn't also being trashed by them, for like her whole life?? Her mother blames her unfairly for the death of a sibling and then purposely withholds affection, it doesn't seem like her father or brother stepped in to offer much love to make up for this, she genuinely believes that if they find out she's dying they will try to steal her life's work - and everyone is always like "why didn't she stick up for him when they were being passive-aggressive towards him?" Seriously? Hae-in probably fell in love with Hyun-woo because he was always on her side, defending and protecting her, she probably felt like he would be her safe place in her family. And then he made it all about himself. Only after he was trying to get in her good graces did he start standing up for her and standing with her against her mom and family; she even was surprised and said that was one of the reasons she thought he was just trying to butter her up - (which it was) - before she started to trust him again. Obviously they both had communication problems, but he took it too far looking forward to her death - and the Hyun-woo later in the series would totally agree with that statement.
@@bae-mboleo I agree him being happy about her diagnosis was too far but I honestly understand his reaction. I don't know how you expect Hyunwoo to communicate when in the first few episodes Haein deliberately said hurtful things whenever Hyunwoo initiate a conversation. Remember the talk after the family meeting about having a baby? Relationship is a two way street. Expecting someone to ALWAYS stay on your side while saying hurtful things to them and doing the bare minimum when your family treat your partner like a maid for 3 years is crazy. Haein even said a part of her knew Hyunwoo would want a divorce and thank him for putting up with that situation for a long time.
Why.She deserve him . Hein love him more then herself but he’s too late realize that her love for him .and she already warned her family situation before marriage and she can’t stand with him but he say that’s okey and he’s sayed hain no matter what happen i will stand with you . After miscarriage what happen he left her alone her room and distanced himself from her . Why he don’t understand her pain losing their first child and she become depressed and cold amd rude because that lose . The things in that room were removed because she couldn't bear to see them, in fact he was the one who had to change them because he had to understand that she was missing a part of her body and it was her pain. A woman loses a part of her body when she loses a child because she is the one who gives birth to a child and no one knows how a woman will behave after losing a child because no one can understand how much pain a woman is in. He realizes what he did to her and he forgot the words and truths he gave her so because of his guilt he is and he stand with her endured everything because he was the first to break his word and then she also broke her word and promise.
