Viking Collapsed vs Levanger • NM Cup 2024

Levanger was responsible for another cup bomb when they knocked out Viking in the fourth round. On the way there, a canceled Viking score became the big talking point.
Levanger shocked Viking and took the lead already after 40 seconds in the fourth round of the cup. Viking equalized at 1-1 through Peter Christiansen, before Sanel Bojadzic sent Levanger into the lead from the penalty spot early in the second half.
Viking and Sondre Auklend thought they had equalized in the 73rd minute of the match, but the score was immediately canceled for handball on Auklend.
The Viking player despaired and when the replays started, it was clear why.
The ball went into the hands of Levanger defender Håvard Lorentzen, not Auklend.
Viking collapsed in extra time
Three minutes later, Simen Kvia-Egeskog equalized for Viking and thus took the match to extra time.
But there Viking took a beating and collapsed completely.
First, the aforementioned Lorentsen barged in 3-2. Then Ådne Bruseth added to make it 4-2 to the 1st division team Levanger, who were responsible for their second cup bomb of the year. In the previous round, they knocked out Brann.
After the match, Gianni Stensness was also sent off by the referee after getting into a verbal altercation with the Levanger players after the match.
