I was thinking of why I like your videos so much and I realised that's because you're not faking anything. Your videos aren't making me jealous or anxious about my own reality, because you show both the good and the bad things in your life. And thanks to this, I cheer you on your every journey and keep my fingers crossed like for a close friend :) Cheers from Poznań, Poland
sarah, I want to share with you that I got my first job ever in tech and watch your videos inspired me a lot to keep studying and doing a good job in this field. It’s challenging being a woman in this world of tech but creators like you are a inspiration for me! You’re doing great, be proud everyday ❤️
@@LuisA-ug3fr hi! thank you! I started last year through a bootcamp focused on cybersecurity. In the meantime, I also did a course marathon at Netacademy and once I finished I applied for a job that was being offered to the bootcamp alumnis. It took me around a year focused on studies and interviews. If you’re starting, be sure to not lose focus and motivation, there’s plenty of opportunities!
@@Lara-ui4lo that’s great to hear!! I’m currently in law enforcement, but I’m starting to believe this isn’t what I truly want to do. I have no experience in tech except for like video games and what not lol. I’m just trying to see if I should go back to school and take some computer science classes.
@@LuisA-ug3fr do what gives you purpose. I also didn’t feel confortable in my previous area, so I can imagine how you feel. I advice you to search more about tech (if it’s something you really like) and see if there’s an area you would like to work in. There’s lots of fields, if you choose this, I hope you feel encouraged and welcomed!
aaaaah seeing you girls celebrate one another for being the in the tech field is so heartwarming i cried little happy tears when that clip rolled. im an incoming 2nd year comsci student, shifted from accountancy bc i realized it's something i truly enjoy and see myself pursuing a career out of. sarah, thank you for making videos and sharing us this part of ur life. it inspires me to continue what im doing. love, from the philippines ❤️
I’m a dog mom (she’s 11 now) and I know the feeling of anxiety around your baby’s health problems. My pup had quite a few problems when she was a baby and luckily after her first year it all cleared up 🙏🏻 Sending sooo much love.❤
I came across your channel because I'm also on my way to becoming a software engineer and binge-watching your videos. it doesn't take much for me to be stimulated, so aesthetically pleasing videos like yours are very calm on my mind.
The life of a software engineer is going to meetings with scrum masters, project managers, business analysts, managers, directors, and VP's, where they all ask you how long will it take , why is it taking so long, and when will it be done. Then when you need something from them, they take many weeks because they're soooo busy. When they finally get back to you, the stopwatch starts and they want it done right away. Then you hit some security issue and have to make a ticket, and have a meeting with a DBA, DBA manager, your boss, and a security admin, where you have to explain to them in detail why you need access. They end up giving you just enough access to where a few days later you have to repeat the process and ask for more access. Then once again you have the first people I mentioned asking you why its taking so long.
I'm so so glad that you're empathetic about the interns. Because being an intern myself atm I do feel slightly neglected although I doubt whether their intention is to do that, it still makes me sort of sad. I hope that you achieve what you want Sarah ❤️
Girl give yourself some grace, your colleagues may be switching up but youve been working two jobs between TH-cam and software engineering and I'm sure they look at you like you're doing the cool big things too. Growing and exploring is important but do it for you not in comparison to others on their own path. A podcast would be very cool though, your voice is so peaceful. You're doing fantastic!! 🧡
Again, love the hair and love how it matches moose so perfectly. You’re a perfect pet mommy and he couldn’t have received a better home! You’re so dedicated to your job, interns, friends and family and even taking care of a friends pet when they’re gone and still manage to find time to upload when you can for your subscribers like.. wow. I really pray you receive every bit of blessing god has coming to you. That daily grind does not go unnoticed! You’re someone that inspires me to be more productive and ambitious with my time and life. Thank you Sarah ♡ 🥹
Its funny how similar our struggles are, I'm a software engineer at JP morgan and they just moved us to 3 days mandatory in office. Finding a desk is a constant battle even booking a seat if you dont arrive at a good time. 5 am club is growing. Accurate depiciton of an SE keep up the good work!
I'm a rising freshman in university, and I want to say thank you for your videos - I always look forward to your genuinety and realistic depiction of work life, and it's been tremendously helpful in preparing me for the future
u r top 1% of success, your friends that are building their own thing are maybe 0.5%, you shouldnt feel any pressure from anything, take a breath, theres no need to jump to next thing and next and next. It's ok to just settle down at time, in fact if good and necessary. This hustle grind mindset not always good
I was so happy to see all those women interns! I'm studying for a Systems Development Analyst degree, but I study at home, so I haven't met many other women in the field. It can be quite lonely sometimes, so it's good to see that there are other women in the area.
Watching your videos just gives me this sense of calmness, but on the other hand gives me the biggest boost to change my life for the good 💖 keep going chick!
Thank you for such a cozy vlog, and sharing all these things going on! It's funny you said something about not having a plan, i've also found myself not actually having a plan for my future recently, but for some reason i seem to be okay with it, i couldn't tell why :D as cliché as it sounds I found myself enjoying the moment and just going towards my future instead of trying to plan it all out. (not saying this is the thing to do cause i definitely feel that sometimes it isn't the play lol. just wanted to share) I still have my fingers crossed for Moose's health! A random SUPER friendly kitty came to our backyard today and i almost cried it was so sweet. I can only imagine how great it must be to live with a sweetheart like Moose! As always, hope you have an amazing day!
We’re on similar journeys in our careers right now! I am in the corporate world too and I am mentoring as well! Although I don’t know how you’re handling 5 days a week😅 I commented last video, but I don’t think you are stagnant whatsoever. You are excelling in your corporate career and growing your TH-cam (independent work) 😊❤
I do sometimes. feel mentally block.. especially at times, I guess its part of the process in life and usually it comes and goes.. but I'm glad that you are thinking about starting a podcast.. that should be another wonderful opportunity to do something creative and worthwhile. 😊 I wish you the very best
I just found your channel not so long ago and I really enjoy your content, since its relaxing and not oversaturated. I love the music choice and the edit style a lot too! I was wondering, what coding languages are you using in your fullstack job? What do you see, what are the common requirements companies are looking for? (like trending coding languages) :)
I write a blog myself and I recently had these same ideas of why are you posting this, no one reads it or like why are you even writing for the blog at all. So yes i always mentally block myself but i also have trained myself to ignore those thoughts. The answer is because I love it. I love writing and creating content on the topics I write about. All of that to say if you are happy with what you are doing, just keep doing what you are doing and don’t compare yourself to others (I know that is hard to do). If you want to do something creative like create a podcast and you have doubts - just do it! If it will make you happy, just do that creative thing or make that change. You can always change what makes you happy as you grow as a person Also don’t worry about not knowing what you want to do for the rest of your career and life. A part of the fun in life is that you don’t know and you surprise yourself. I made a huge career change after almost 10 years in 1 career and thought I was destroying my life but I am so glad I did. If you would have told me 5 years earlier that I was going to make that change, I would have thought you were nuts. Life will hand you opportunities and push you in the direction you should be going but if you want to take the leap and try something out - that is fantastic and you should totally do that both in career and creative outlets. You will never know until you try. Sorry for such a long post but this video reall resonated with me cuz I was just thinking about this - also I would totally listen to your podcast. There is a reason that people watch your videos ❤
