Le rendez-vous parfait de l'intelligence, des dons absolus, de la maîtrise, de la sensibilité et de la beauté ! Redonnons au mot "artiste" sa juste valeur ! Infiniment merci monsieur HENRYK SZERYNG.
All aspiring violinists (or any aspiring musician, really) can and should benefit from studying this Great Maestro's performance! Bravo Maestro Szeryng!!!
Thank you so very much for shearing one of His breathtaking interpretations! Szeryng definitely brought wings to the Universe. and something just wonderful to us - entire spectrum of Eternal Beauty.. Mr .Tony Finley and few other people in Art of Violin should know something before sharing comments which are turnishing Maestro Henryk Szeryng reputation. He was not only brilliant violinist but also a hero. During WWII Henryk Szeryng was a active member of Armia Krajowa ( Underground Homeland Army in occupied Poland)and assistant of General Sikorski. In 1941 they saved 4000 people from death in German concentration camps. For that after the WWII NKWD in Poland ,called S B ,gave him death sentence. He could not enter Poland without being arrested and prosecuted like thousands others including members of Gen.Anders Army.
Watch them play Brahms Hungarian Dance No.17. It's one of my all-time favourites. Tasso adds a last unscripted note right at the end - beautiful humour!!
Maravillosa interpretación , con una calidad sonora y un elevadísimo Nivel expresivo , unido a una interpretación temperamental que deslumbra a todo el que lo escucha . BRAVO
Szeryng violinistically eats Stern for breakfast. Also Stern was not a really good person to say the least… e.g. how he sabotaged Aaron Rosand by making him lose his Barber recording with Bernstein
Exquisite. While famous, he was not as famous as he deserved. Much greater than Isaac Stern, who ruined many a career by refusing artists entry to Carnegie Hall. A marvelous composition. Suk also deserves greater fame.
Irrefutable proof that the most talent and the most base qualities can co-exist in one person. The playing is of a type that cannot be even imagined by most players. Perhaps that's why he drank so much and was such a difficult SOB ... he just couldn't reconcile these 2 things within himself. Spoke fluently 7 languages, played with such finesse and soul - kind of like the Devil in the story that enticed the poor soldier to sell his soul. Maybe Szeryng had sold his soul to be able to play like this?
DURING WWII SZERYNG WAS ASSISTANT TO GEN SIKORSKI.IN1941 THEY SAVED 4000 PEOPLE FROM GERMANS DEATH SENTENCES JUST BECAUSE THEY WERE POLES OR WORSE POLISH JEWS.HE WAS MEMBER OF AK AS A SIKORSKI ASSISTANT. BECAUSE OF THAT AFTER THE WAR HE COULD NOT COME BACK TO POLAND SINCE NKWD CALLED IN POLAND S B ,HAD FOR HIM DEATH SENTENCE NOW. ... HE WAS VERY UNHAPPY .MOST OF HIS FAMILY MEMBERS or FRIENDS DIED IN GERMAN CONCENTRATION CAMPS LIKE AUSCHWITZ ...I AM BRINGING THIS UP SINCE SOMEONE MADE A SILLY COMMENT ABOUT HIM,TRYING TO DIMINISH HIS GREATNESS AS A MUSICIAN .SZERYNG WAS NOT ONLY A MAGNIFICENT VIRTUOSO LIKE HIFETZ BUT ALSO A REAL HERO.
@@AnnaKarkowskaVirtuoso : now human souls have nationalities? No one here (except maybe the (atm) 10 deaf idiots who disliked this video) disputs Szeryng greatness! Let us not attempt to make some kind of national issue out of his amazing playing, and also please unlock your caps lock key..
@@linosclassics Sorry but someone made a nasty remark so I tried to explain ...I thought if they see better they would use their eyes since they don't use their ears. Szeryng was just great so I don't like when someone lies about him or trying to diminish his greatness...As for human souls I am not so sure yet if a tiny bit of our beloved home ,it's tradition and history is not somehow transported with us...I just don't know yet...

"Simply" absolute and complete mastery..

He simply was a Guest of the divine! Wonderful and unforgetable Szering
Playing on gut-core strings, before nylon-core strings were on the market. His tonal color is limitless❤️
So few players these days even understand the benefits of the gut core strings, let alone want to use them. The listener suffers as a result.
He's so ... modern looking when he plays. So much movement and physical expression. enjoyed this thankyou.
We love you, Mr Szeryng.
Violin God. Stunning.
Wonderful performance. Exquisite artistry. Such pathos and beauty is rarely found in contemporary players.
Nonsense, listen to Jansen's recording - I think it is superior
@@shmalfie8674Jansen better than Szering?!!!!!! 😂
@@marcelo.rebuffi for this piece, yes
@@shmalfie8674 in my opinion: no, never
Lovely playing, I would definitely pay to see/hear these artists today - even with that wallpaper.
I love that wallpaper but not as much as the violin
What a vibrato,i think it ist the best espressivo i have ever heard.
Absolutely the best ever played.
Simply wonderfull...........

Impresionnte,una maravillosa interpretación!!!
A truly inspired performance!
Another gem on your channel. Phantastic sound Szeryng had, beautifully captured here despite the age of the recording.
Accompanied by the great Tasso Yannoloulo.
Tasso Yannopoulo (or the alternate writing Janopoulo) I suppose?
Watch them play Brahms Hungarian Dance No.17.
It's one of my all-time favourites.
Tasso adds a last unscripted note right at the end - beautiful humour!!
the Great Tasso Yannopoulo...!
Belíssimo! Eterno!
Arystokrata... pod każdym względem. Uwielbiam.

Fantastic!
Very beautiful !
Wonderful
Brawo, panie Szeryng! 💕
impecable
Such a wonderful and complete violinist/musician, I wonder why Stern didn't like him, if that is true, or maybe I can see why...
Stern could often be nasty.
Well WE like him!
Don't ask Friedmann...
Szeryng violinistically eats Stern for breakfast.
Also Stern was not a really good person to say the least… e.g. how he sabotaged Aaron Rosand by making him lose his Barber recording with Bernstein
Stern never had that quality of sound and always had problems with intonation
Glorious. Thank you for sharing it.
Precioso
My immortal idol....
Это исполнение - супер класс!!!
Arşenin geçiş sesi yok pozisyonlar çok net mükemmel bir resital olmuş
Geniusz .
GRAN COMPOSICIÓN, GRAN INTERPRETACIÓN.
There was another video of him playing this piece with another pianist, Charles somebody. What happened to that video?
I just found it. With Charles Reiner. Henryk Szeryng plays Suk's Song of Love (Píseň lásky)
Exquisite. While famous, he was not as famous as he deserved. Much greater than Isaac Stern, who ruined many a career by refusing artists entry to Carnegie Hall. A marvelous composition. Suk also deserves greater fame.
Ein DICHTER mit GEIGE...
PREKRASNE mám to na CD!!!!!
Wie SCHÖN musste DIESE FRAU GEWESEN SEIN...
Can you imagine he wrote this for Antonin Dvorak's daughter with whom je was terrible in love :) and hot parties to...
Великий скрипач
Utrolig Vakkert..som bare Szeryng kan fremføre en melodi…
Nice dub
