When last have you passed through PETIT VALLEY in Trinidad, an island in the Caribbean? What do you think about my new standard of having at least 10K views for this video before releasing another Trini road trip?
Have family from Petit Valley… very familiar with this area ….truly has grown. We used to go to the drive 9n there called “Starlight ” … when I was young, we had a ball ! 🙂
I give this video five stars. Being born and bred in south Trinidad and residing in Toronto for the past 52 years, it was great taking this virtual tour of the beautiful northern part of our island. The homes, greenery, the flat and mountain roads and the trees swaying in the hot tropical breezes kept me glued. I have never seen so many dead end streets before, maybe signs posted would help to avoid the many surprises. The areas reminded me a lot of Beverly Hills and Bel Air in California, USA where the houses are hidden with lots of greenery and shrubs and not a living soul in sight, so the look is lifeless. The Government should send out teams to clean up the areas that need such work to be done and either send the property owners the bill or tack the cost on to the property tax bill. Thanks for this marvellous presentation.
Me too... At the clinic on the corner.. my grandfather helped design Sparrow Hideaway.. My grandparents home is right across the road from Sparrow... The Browns..🇹🇹
Thank you! Thank you! for driving through Poinsettia Ave. I grew up on that street in the 60's and 70's .Living in Canada for 45 years now it was so nice seeing my old street.
Born and raised in Petit Valley, great seeing the places again through your eyes, lots of changes over the years. The building (Chinese Restaurant/Bar) at the corner of Sierre Leone Rd is definitely a land mark. It's more that 80+ years. It used to be a neighborhood grocery (shop) /bar; its wasn't really a restaurant per se back then although a few food items were sold. Served the neighborhood before the Supermarkets came on the seen. Beautiful people originally from China., kind and caring. Lots of great memories
I haven't looked at your videos for a long time. The only part of Petit Valley I knew was around Morne Coco Road by the church area and Alyce Glen. I stayed at a B&B near there. Thanks for the video. It is time for me to start watching your videos again. I hope you and your young sons and family are doing well. Keep up showcasing the positive side of T&T, to show the world what Trinidad is like.

How I like petit valley ? - This part of Petit Valley you visited is definitely one of the more attractive neighborhoods in Trinidad. Definitely upscale. What makes a man? Hi JB, thank you for sharing such a detailed video of both familiar, and unfamiliar, places in Petit Valley - the place of my birth ‼️I totally enjoyed the entire video 💯+ Stay blessed 💕
Great content JB! Grew up at the very top of Sparrow Drive so this takes me back. Simeon Rd a place of many working class Grenadian immigrants looking for a better life; made me who I am! About those streets at the foot of Morne Coco Rd between Four Roads and Simeon Rd.... it started as a middle-class housing community known as New Yalta, was developed by a Jewish family, Chimon and Chuma Monka Averboukh, originally from Bessarabia. The streets were named for Jews and Israeli areas in the 1950s.
@@JBsManCave Many migrated to the US and Canada I think. A very interesting history. Also near the big tree on Diego Martin Main Road streets with Jewish names were also part of New Yalta such as Zev Ben Eliaser etc.
